Discord is getting a "refresh", which feels like happens every other year. What does this mean in theory? New Discord themes, both free and nitro only. New Discord app icons, nitro only. And one of these new features is actually worthwhile.

Discord adds so much content that either removes clutter or add more, they should make it optional features and let the user choose instead
And because it's Discord, of course they get to lock it behind Nitro, they wouldn't do it otherwise

Imo, the only bad thing about the simplified profiles is that they hide the full "About Me" section. People need that type of info to accurately convey stuff. Seeing their whole bio from the get-go is quite important to me and to many others, so hiding it behind a button that opens the full profile makes it so we might as well not even have the initial screen in our opinions. Things like roles and stuff genuinely don't matter in the preview, but it does still lead to some weird issues since the "global" profile (the one that doesn't show roles/server profiles/server nicknames/etc.) can only be opened from DMs with this update in place.
We need a setting to disable avatar & profile decorations so we dont get blasted by those ugly animations when looking at profiles

I dislike the smaller profiles because they already cut bios off early, and now it's even harder to get to... No one is ever going to read anyone's bio now (except for me lol)

Plenty of people from Twitter, Feedback website and discord are calling for a revert simply because people can usually have 100 servers or dislike scrolling up and down just to reach direct messages. It’s simplified, less clutter and easier to use for mobile based systems.. NOT DESKTOP!
i think the increased amount of info when hovering over a server is honestly a good idea, helps tell you if there's anything of note going on, because there's a chance that a vc might just have a bunch of lurkers, they just need to shrink it down instead of it being this gigantic popup

I love the little profile update!! it is very cute and the little status thinking bubble is amazing. I like discord giving the option to close the activities thing in servers because I give zero fucks about what people are doing... these updates don't change the entire apps layout so it ain't bad for me

that server peeking has been around for a bit now, I just noticed it like a week ago though
personally, with the minimal layout for profiles, i hate it because i use a lot of fanart as my discord pfp and i have a spot in my bio where i creddit the artist. it's annoying that they can't just click my bio and see it from there. i'm fine with the rest of the clutter being gone, but maybe leave 2-3 lines of the bio at least?

The server hover tooltip however, I wish it was optional, or you could enable/disable depending on the server, I would love to have this on small servers but not on big servers

The activity section on the member list should just be a small icon on the top right, where clicking it shows the activities going on. The profile changes look suuper clean though I like them
My friend had the activity in the user list early and said yes, you can minimise it... but then it un-minimises itself whenever you click out of and back into a server...
WHY did they move the DM button back to the top of the server list on mobile. SO INCONVENIENT AND SO MUCH SLOWER THAN IT BEING IN ITS OWN TAB. FFS.

It sucks that they added a new icon sometime after my Nitro Basic expired, which I got in form of commissions… But I really love the simplified profiles though, it’s really clever thinking 👏
The activity list has already taken effect for my client, and I honestly hated it at first, especially the fact that even if you click the option to hide it, it'll be visible again next time you load up the page, but now I sort of don't mind it and I just let it sit there.

I've already gotten the activity window thing and I fucking hate it. There is no way to turn it off, and every time you close the app it reopens it in every single server individually. And yes, I said every server individually, since if you close it on one server it doesn't close it on any other.
