Reading someone who fell for the scam, they act like a really sweet GF too if they are good at it. Money to lure you in, being sweet to lonely people to hook them. They take advantage of your emotions
@@Shikaku2 as someone who used to do this (not for money, for fun. I'm not a very good person) I can say that you don't even need to be good at this. Lonely vulnerable people will fall for anything if you make a couple of compliments and show a tiny bit of interest in their lives.
You don't retire as a surgeon at 40. 60 minimum, and a 60 year old having a son that still lives at home is low, and the chances that you're using Discord at 60 are even lower. And a surgeon can never resist bragging about what kind of surgeon they are, they wouldn't just say 'surgeon', they would say 'cardiothoracic surgeon' or something else.

This "Sugar mama" scam being going on for years, even outside of Discord. It's one of the many many ways scammers aim for victims, Felix handled this like a pro and gave them a good slap at the end.👏
I dealt with a similar scammer about a month ago, but it went a lot differently. It was a guy asking me if I wanted him to be my sugar daddy, and he pretty much just gave up 5 messages in. Apparently talking to me isn't very fun.
As a scammer myself (I buy all the chips from airport vending machines and sell them back at 3 times the prics). Ya gotta have dedication to the craft!

They basically did the whole song and dance, and in the end they got hyper aggressive about me transferring money to this other account. Admittedly, I'm kind of dumb, but as an artist I was mildly flattered that someone wanted to commission me. After days of constant texting, and me having depositing the check, but calling my bank about it, I was able to leave unscammed, and I told them to screw off
I've unfortunately been a victim of these scams 3 separate times. Due to my intellectual disability, I didn’t understand what was happening. I thought it was all legitimate. Watching this video really gave me more insight to how fucked they were. I've learned the hard way, unfortunately, and have my caregiver help me discern messages from now on.

These are also very common on instagram, my friend got a message from a guy that was saying that he wanted a sugar baby and was going to pay her 6k USD a week to keep her company, but we've later in the conversation found out that he wanted a razer gold gift card first for "PayPal fees" lmao, and after my friend was done with that guy and stopped responding to him he kept messaging her every day like 3 times asking her "did you get the card baby" it was the funniest shit ever
I got something similiar a year back on instagram too. A sugar mom wanted to give me money for keeping her company but i had to first to pay fees for her financial management. Lmao that was already a redflag. Paying fees is a nope for me for something like that

And one time he said it's sometimes dangerous because they might track who you are. They alrighty sell information you put into the dark web and even sell your email there too. It's not recommended to go scambaiting in 2023 unless you know what you're doing.

A “sugar momma” wanted me to make a bank account so they could pay, but I didn’t want to so I suggested either they give me prepaid Robux codes or discord nitro, or don’t pa at all. Silence after that. Little while later they asked for me phone number, and when I asked it was for some referral (I forgot for what).
I just wanted a friend which is why I went along with talking to them, but after I didn’t give them the bank stuff and phone number, they never texted me again. Even before the phone number request, they had started to ghost. :(
Lmaooo Nigerian scammers are upping their game but this one is still pretty obvious and they did it really bad for 20 minutes. 90% of the convo is just about giving a fake cheque and coercing you to make a transfer. Somehow they'll treat you like a grandma using a computer but are very impatient in seeing the next thing you do. A very common formula I've encountered numerous times. Seeing them rage and threaten you after all that is the best reward for me.

There was some weird time where I was contacted by this discord user, had a fresh account and everything, who was offering up a voice acting role for some sort of DBZ fan animation gig. Me, being an aspiring voice actor that’s fairly good at imitating DBZ characters in particular, thought this was a cool opportunity and took them up on it. I used to get regular updates and screenshots apparently showcasing the “progress” of the animation and whatnot, but eventually the user became completely inactive and hasn’t messaged me since. I’m not too sure if this is a scam, they never asked for any personal details or anything identifying, however did make a promise of sending a professional recording mic (which might’ve been the start of the scam). Dunno if anyone else has had an experience as weird as that before, also dunno if the guy got banned or not, I think I closed the DM when he became inactive.

It's not new, people have been doing this with payroll, buying stuff, etc scam. But like any other scams, it always needs more awareness.

There was some weird time where I was contacted by this discord user, had a fresh account and everything, who was offering up a voice acting role for some sort of DBZ fan animation gig. Me, being an aspiring voice actor that’s fairly good at imitating DBZ characters in particular, thought this was a cool opportunity and took them up on it. I used to get regular updates and screenshots apparently showcasing the “progress” of the animation and whatnot, but eventually the user became completely inactive and hasn’t messaged me since. I’m not too sure if this is a scam, they never asked for any personal details or anything identifying, however did make a promise of sending a professional recording mic (which might’ve been the start of the scam). Dunno if anyone else has had an experience as weird as that before, also dunno if the guy got banned or not, I think I closed the DM when he became inactive.
