@@peteraustin370 Remember when you were a child, if your parents told you you'd get something "next year", it seemed like a lifetime away. The older you get, the faster time goes it seems 😀
Hearing this wonderful 60's classic now---------and, seeing the young Gerry Marsden & the guys as they were back then--------it just makes me so sad. Time has flown by far, far, too fast. In that summer of '64, I was 17 y/o, heading to 18 , & all of life was ahead. RIP, Gerry & The Pacemakers, & Thank-you for all the music you gave us.---------MJL, 77 y/o
I feel like that also, that time has flown by and I am only 40. But my parents raised me on this kind of music. Growing up, my friends didn't know any of these songs and I couldn't relate or share with them but I found my husband who also grew up with this music so we are now showing our 1 year old son, so he will know it and hopefully pass it on to his children ❤ But be happy, u got to live in the era we wished we lived in! Take care!

I was 8-years-old when the British Invasion swept America in 1964. Gerry & The Pacemakers were a big part of it. Losing Gerry Marsden is a sad way to begin 2021, but his wonderful music lives on...
The all time best slow dance song when i was growing up. This was the call to get up and dance with the girl you wanted to get close too. RIP my friend. Thank You!!!
...I agree, their best song by miles. I never knew why their management allowed them to stick with increasingly forgettable pop music when the band clearly had depth and this wonderful voice to fall back on. Everyone remembers 'You'll Never Walk Alone', but, TBH, it started the rot into mediocrity. This song was as evocative as Penny Lane....
Woke up this morning with this song in my head. Definitely a Thursday/60’s throwback. High school years. Canton, South Dakota. Fond memories. Thank you thank you thank you💃🏿💯🎶😎🇺🇸
1964. A magical year time era in USA that will never return or happen again. For those of us that were alive and lived it at the time and are still alive now, all I can say is hold on to your times of your life dearly. Life comes only once and I'm glad I lived that time. Different people, different country, different styles, different values, different era never to return again.
Yes, 1964! A great magical year. 25¢ a gallon gasoline, 5¢ a scoop ice cream at Thrifty's, 5¢ Snicker's candy bars, 10¢ Coke's and Pepsi's with returnable glass bottle. LBJ in the white house. You can have 2022! It's trash.
I was in college and had this very pretty gal with me....things were getting steamy in my dorm room. Summer vacation was in a few weeks. I was to spend it in army officers training at Fort Lewis and this was at a time when being in the army was not cool. It was only a few years since Vietnam and we caught a lot of post Vietnam contempt. I drove her home and on the way back this played on the car stereo. Never saw her again.
r.i.p gerry had the pleasure of having a chat and a beer on the farm where i had my boat next to his great guy a true scouser who had a load of talent .just like many of liverpool people sense of humour with a big heart ynwa 96 xxx
Thank you sweetie, you're so filled with love and you're so thoughtful. Yes I was crying today, but now I'm feeling much better. . Ever you come to New York. I am going to give you that pizza. There is the best pizza in the entire United States. And I only live like half a town away from it. Okay let me go later. Bye
The no talent music industry of the 2000s with all their flash and glitter and half naked women will NEVER replace this kind of music!
You look around and suddenly almost 60 years are gone...!!!...How can that be...??!!??....Fabulous Song..!!
I know the feeling my friend recall my first day at school - September 1961.
Those were the days, oh how they flew by
Very true

Surely one of the most beautiful lyrics in British song writing.
You are so, so right.
Why can't music be like this again?
Because there’s very little true class out there anymore
Amen!!!!
Because the condition of the human heart is so corrupted that the masses won’t listen to such heartfelt music.
Music is a subconscious reflection of the zeitgeist of the times it was conceived...
Our society has deeply decayed, hence so has music.
I agree
Magnificent tune. Truly classic pop.
Has to be one of the best songs of all times
Indubitably!
It's beautiful
Fell in love to this song. Young first love. Still sweet 55 years later
Takes me back to a time so long ago when the world 🌎 was innocent
A lovely song lyrically and musically. Heartfelt and lyrically true. 🎶

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning “ Psalm 30:5
Amen. The words in that reminds me of that scripture ❤❤🙏✝️❤️❤️
They used to play this song everyday on the radio in the 60’s.
The all time best slow dance song when i was growing up. This was the call to get up and dance with the girl you wanted to get close too. RIP my friend. Thank You!!!
One of the VERY best of The British invasion of 1964. RIP, Gerry.-----MJL, 77 y/o
They don’t make music like this anymore.
My favourite Gerry & The Pacemakers song. Absolutely love Gerry and have done since I was very young.

Listening to the first three seconds of the song, and you time travel to the 1970's. Never to return.
I'm sure you mean time travel to the 1960's, a big hit the Pacemakers around April of 1964
