I could listen to you all day Emily. I don't know who decides your songs choice, but it seems to me every one I've heard from you so far has been top shelf, excellent! That voice gets me, how you could shape the melody with such ease and perfection in pitch and richness, and range, never stops to amaze me. Stunning. To even attempt this song, you need to have confidence in the mastery of your voice across a large range from alto through soprano, and you nailed it. Your voice has such strength, but combined with warmth and a mellow tone -- never shrill or brassy. Your vocal style continues to grow and mature.
BTW/Many people in your audience in the U.S., of a certain age, will associate this song with the 1960s, when many young men were going off to war and leaving loved ones behind. I connect this song with my oldest brother and his wife. They met when they were in middle school, and when he went to Vietnam at the age of 18, she waited for him. They were married when he got back (he got married in his uniform), and they stayed married for 55 years. Sadly, she passed away about a month ago, but theirs was a love story for the ages, truly captured in this song.

Emily's looks, voice and playing are beyond compare but I don't think she'll get anywhere just doing covers. If she doesn't write songs herself she should find someone who does. Before the Beatles came along in the early sixties very few singers or bands wrote their own material, and in England, managers went to 'Tin Pan Alley' where writers wrote songs for stars. I really hope. In the meantime, I will go on listening to her. I really like listening to covers and I just discovered Emily this morning. She is an undiscovered talent. Fly high young lady!

You should take a little time and check out Emily's UA-cam channel. You would find that Emily has been writing songs since the age of 13 and has 14 originals. She has an original playlist on her channel I would highly recommend.
I used to co-manage a rock band. They were adamant that they would build their reputation solely on music they’d written and performed themselves. As good as that music was, promoting them proved, thankless. As soon as they started covering rock classics, with their own slant injected into the performance, doors started opening. Once they had established a reputation as 1st class performers, they were able to successfully integrate their own material.
I was introduced to Emily and her music a couple of years ago. I have relished experiencing her mature as a musician, vocalist and performer. I will always have time for her music, be it covers or originals. Doing what she’s doing, she has developed a huge following, even getting some of her performances on to some of the ‘audiophile’ streaming services. Yes, some original material would be nice. But believe you me, it’s an uphill struggle. Maybe some of Ed Sheeran’s magic would prove useful.
Emily does write her own songs and I hope you will give them a listen; but it never hurts to have a little help so I agree with you.
This version will become a classic over time. Simply gorgeous and innovative.

This song requires a lot of control and breath support, not to mention the vocal range it spans. This is a truly wonderful performance of this piece. And the piano accompaniment is perfect.
I bought a Williams Legato 111 about a year or so ago and I was looking up piano lessons. Looking for a video, teaching the notes 🎶. Up in my feed, pops a video of a young Miss Emily, singing and playing piano, that just pulled me in, and blew me away, at the same time. It's not just another cover, it's a masterpiece, and a masterclass in how to take a great song, totally make it your own and improve on the original music. I'm no voice coach, but I have watched enough of them to realize that you have a boatload of talent. As someone else mentioned, you are able to keep the power up in the lower register, which seems difficult for a lot of women. Your upper register seems so easy for you. I wish you much success, young lady. You have obviously practiced your craft for some time.

The amazing thing about this video, is the way it lets the viewer focus on Emily's awesome piano playing and singing talent. It is easy to miss how perfect everything else is. The basics of hair, make-up and wardrobe are enhanced by controlled lighting with no shadows and nice contrast with the background. The camera angles are spot on, bringing the reflection in the piano lid under control. Just the right amount of slow pan and zoom to keep the attention, plus camera transitions at just the right moments between vocals ond instrumental. Attention right down to every little detail, like clipping the microphone cable to the stand correctly. The things you don't notice make this a masterpiece.
