BECAUSE--THE DAVE CLARK FIVE (NEW ENHANCED RECORDING) 720P

  • Well I finally got around to enhancing this classic. I put it off because I knew I would have a serious project in dealing with this song. I wanted more fuller harmonies and a acoustic guitar to fill in empty spots.
The vocals were very difficult and took 2 days to figure out what kind of vocals would sound good. I had to go verse by verse and try different arrangements that I thought would work in keeping with the
the quality of the original. I can't believe how pretty this song was from the day I first heard it. Songs like this are not written by today's
musical drop outs. These guys are legends in the British invasion.
Hope you DC-5 fans like this new enhanced version!

Listening in Nov 2023. I grew up in the 60's listening to this music. My wife & I were High School sweethearts and this was one of our favorite songs. Sadly my wife passed in January this year so when I hear this song today, I think back to the high school dances, slow dancing with the love of my life and my soul mate and I smile and a shed few tears. Thank you for doing this song.. God Bless you all.

music like this is no longer being made. what a retrospect, our parents would tell us that "the music you listen to is garbage" now we tell our kids" the music that you listen to is garbage". as I see it ,what is thought of as "garbage"( back then) is really "TAME STUFF" compared to the "GARBAGE" of today ,I would really piss my parents off when they would listen to the "EASY LISTENING" radio station that was the same music that I listened to, just slowed down!!!!, and I went out of my way to point it out. good music will always stand up to the "TEST OF TIME"!!!!!

I'm a little older than you guys and I was playing this on the radio for you! "Because" is, for me, The DC5 at their best, followed closely by "Can't You See That She's Mine." Solid band, but while Clark could keep a beat he "had some issues" rolling around the set for fills. Proof of the old adage: KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid)! When the DC5 was new we thought it would be The Beatles and them, not the Beatles and Stones as it turned out. I wonder if Clark's shady business practices had anything to do with it.

This song is simply amazing! It has everything, warmth, passion, and that organ is the soul of the tune. I have heard Because before in stereo, but this version blows away the other one! Too bad all those early british rock groups like the Kinks weren't recorded in true stereo like this gem. This tune NEVER gets old.

No "new normal" or new "music" for me. A real melody with lyrics you understand by musicians who really played and vocals that weren't electronically altered.

Amen. You won't find the Crew on any DC 5 or Beatles records. That would be an insult even though the Crew was unbelieveable in their own rite.

The chord structure of this song is pretty sophisticated. Augmented chords aren't heard much in pop music from that time. More than a few early Beatles songs incorporated these passing chords as well. This song is a great time piece from that extraordinary year of 1964. One of my all-time favorites!

My late father who liked late 50’s and early 60’s rock and roll, hated Motown(even though he was from Detroit), and the British Invasion groups. In 1969 I dug out my Dave Clark Five greatest hits album and played “Because”. He loved it, and I heard him playing it many times. A great group, and a great memory!

Back in the late 60's, My band The Kastaways had the immense pleasure of opening for The Dave Clark 5 at the Boston Gardens. We where a local band from the town of Winchester and only in our early twenty's when we had the gig. I have to say these guy's where complete gentleman, and fun to be around. We had a dynamite time playing ,the Garden was packed and we where all rocking.
Alas they are all gone now except for Dave, but I still have all the memories of that night.

@@fangirllinda agreed.... And Dave Clark screwed Mike Smith over too.... So sad because Mike was actually the musical genius behind thé group. He was never given crédit for thé incredible work he produced. No one got their fair share because Dave Clark was not willing to acknowledge the talent of anyone else. Loved Mike Smith and do disappointed in how Dave Clark treated them.

I think all DC5 fans were disappointed to find out that the band members may have been shortchanged. It’s hard to know all the details, but maybe the guys just weren’t aware of what they were signing away on those contracts. And then there’s Ron Ryan....🤦🏻‍♀️
The most disappointing story(and saddest) is how Dave allegedly didn’t come up with the funds to buy Mike the special wheelchair or van that he needed after the accident. That breaks my heart😞especially since Dave often refers to himself and Mike as being “mates”.The only up side to that story is there may have been some royalties from the use of GAO in the 2006 movie “Garfield A Tail of Two Kitties” I sure hope some of that went to Mike.
Having said all that, the silver lining is that 56 years later,The DC5 music still makes me smile 🎶💕🎶 RIP Denis,Mike, and Rick.
