      Imagine if we had a few thousand Tim's all preaching weekly to millions of people around the world, we might finally get the upper hand and start to erode the scourge that is organized religion.

    You have to realise that tim was told a story by a guy at a bar then went home and wrote a full opera piece and hired the sydney opera house and got one of the most famous orchestras on the planet to play the piece just to shit on this dude and his mom.

    • @chadUCSD
      @chadUCSD 27 днів тому

      This is at the Royal Albert Hall in London with the BBC symphony orchestra. Not Sydney opera house.

    • @xPlaguefearx
      @xPlaguefearx 27 днів тому

      @chadUCSD ok and?
      He did it in the opera house, this is not the only time he performed this song nor is it the first.

    • @chadUCSD
      @chadUCSD 26 днів тому

      @xPlaguefearx Yeah? I'm more than sure he did do it there too. He'd defo be able to get a crowd to fill it back in Oz. Amd. he defo deserves that, too.
      The only reason I know this is Riyal Albert Hall in London and actually The Heritage Orchestra (Not BBBC as I maybe said) is bcos I've been in it quite ages times for different concerts and alike.
      This was filmed in 2011 for the BBC COMEDY PROMS.
      I actually recognise the seating, balcony, how they've had to set up the stage mainly bcos of the large area kimda behind the stage. (Bcos of shape of tje RAH and what's inbuilt into the actual building behind where the stage is he's performing on.
      At the end u may hear him say 'its miracle' a few secs after its finished. As he went on to say this was the very 1st time he'd managed to perform this song the whole way through without messing it up at all!
      I think thatcnay have been the one and only take the comedy proms happened. Obviously, u havevthebusual Orchestral/classical music Proms there every year still.
      I.wasmt saying anything to diminish his performance or ANY lf the amazing venues Tim has played.
      I believe the 'Pope Song' is filmed.in Oz tho although I'm not sure where though, but he shouts out the SSO (Sydney Symphony Orchestra)during that performance. So it Could be the 'Pope.somg' filmed in the amazing Sydney Opera House goon by shout out to the SSO
      😜😘😉😉😉

    I love how at the beginning, just before the song began, you were in full agreement of the idea that it couldn't be anything other than a miracle, what happened. Then, over the course of his song, Tim proceeds to systematically tear down those walls and show exactly how it most likely is anything but a miracle. The lesson here is, think about it before deciding on what it is. =P

    Your laughter is infectious!! Really enjoyed this reaction! Tim had some troubles with the record companies- they told him his material wasn’t deep enough and didn’t appeal to the teenage market- so he wrote a song called “Dark Side” as an “up yours” to the record industry’s treatment of him. “Dark side-awesome version” is the one to check out next !! ❤️

    Really appreciate how despite the fact that Neal is a believer he will still appreciate the comedy, delivery and message of this bit even though it is pretty hostile towards his own worldview.
    As a bit of a heathen myself I rarely put myself in his position and consume "pro-religion" media, and I think it takes a lot of self-assurance and courage to do that and without submitting to the gut instinct to trash it.
    Basically, if everyone was as open as Neal is here the world would be a much better place!

    • @TheCabIe
      @TheCabIe Рік тому

      @@jamespicksley5781I mean, you won't have someone magically "convert" over the course of 15 minutes. But all it takes is for a seed to get planted for someone to start questioning their beliefs until they slowly erode away.

    • @jamespicksley5781
      @jamespicksley5781 Рік тому

      @@TheCabIe did you get the impression that happened in even the slightest way?
      Because it was clear that they were disregarding the things that could have made them even slightly uncomfortable even before they came up "yeah, I knew he'd bring that up".
      I wasnt expecting the Christian to be rid of their delusions from a 15 minute video, but what was shown was he's already too far gone for any argument to bring him back to reality.

    • @turul44
      @turul44 Рік тому +1

      Well he seems like a dude that analyzers things and is pretty open minded. It's pretty ignorant to think he hasn't observed the very obvious points Tim made in the song, so Im not surprised he said 'I knew he'd say that' multiple times. Anyone that is conscious of the world around them knows the comparisons he made in the song. Its not ground breaking shit. Positive and negative creates the friction that governs this dualistic operated reality, you cant have one without the other. Some people still choose to have faith and to be honest it is waay more likely that there is a spiritual element. Way more believable than some random big bang that somehow created all these perfectly mathematically balanced sequences and things perfectly designed to create and sustain life haha. That's just sounds like a delusional fear of the unknown and what you cant comprehend. I'm not religious however I do believe in higher levels of consciousness. So I wouldn't judge other peoples delusions too much, you're in the same boat you just dont see it. The beauty of a delusion lol. @@jamespicksley5781

    I follow no religion myself (I'm on the verge of Atheism), but I respect anything anyone chooses to believe in as long as they are not causing harm to others. It's so refreshing to see a Christian with an open mind, but still remain true to their beliefs. I don't think Tim's intention is to convert people to Atheism (like I've seen in comments here and there on other videos), but rather give a different perspective to those who have been forced to believe in something since they were young. Nothing was forced on me, so I've had freedom to choose my own beliefs. I 100% respect the comfort that religion can bring to people when it is practiced in a safe way!
    God bless :)

I mean it's not like God would drown puppies and kittens because he was annoyed at people... right... Late to this, but i was raised in an even more intense very of christianity. And there was a similar situation of misdiagnosis or spontaneous remission with my cousin. They jumped way too fast because he had had cancer in the past. So they said he had cancer before he had gone in for additional imaging. So I don't think he had even been diagnosed yet, but they had seen stuff in his lungs on an xray. Which could have been anything, even just an issue with the way the xray was done. You need way better imaging before you are diagnosed with cancer. But as a kid i was told his cancer was healed from prayer. But they ALSO said that my aunt's urge to check the oven early when she was cooking turkey that kept it from being overcooked was a miracle, so....

      This song does a great job of pointing out fallacious reasoning, but it does not disprove god. I can believe a true thing for bad reasons.
      I don’t murder anybody because it seems like a lot of work. That is not a good reason to not murder, but not murdering is the correct position to arrive at lol
      The song should prompt deconstruction, but that’s all it can do.
      My intention here isn’t to moralize, so if that’s what comes across I promise it’s due to incompetence rather than malice lol
      Just something to consider if you want
      * the murder example is a joke ; Tim’s lyrics are too dense to address in full, and I’ve already established that I am not a high effort person 😹

      As an ex-Christian can confirm that while this song is really cathartic for an atheist to listen to, many Christians would need much more untangling of their faith to deconvert - especially if they’ve studied apologetics, etc

      How can anyone believe in aliens, Bigfoot, ghosts, spirits, or anything else they don't have evidence for either? People believe in what they want to.

    Hopefully you will soon move past 'ChristianReacts' and any thoughts that you need religion for some reason. We are far more interested in you as Dream Team Neal, or just Neal the real deal thinking, feeling human person we can't help but love.
