I think it's about corey telling his close friends that he's dealing with depression and they didnt believe him(like hes lying to them) so basically hes the liar in the song
Didn't think about that but my first thought was hes lying to himself to himself about his depression like hes talking to himself hes trying to convince himself about out of it but you can be right too

Corey's vocals have come back with a vengeance, ever since WANYK his harshes have been almost as good as on Iowa and his cleans are the best they've ever been! I think you guys would really like "Not Long For This World" from the same album.

As someone who has suffered with depression and listened to slipknot for a while, the liar to me is the heavily depressive part of my personality. The part that tells me that I should hurt myself and I would be better of dead. This song represents a rejection of that part of yourself so that you can move on in a better direction

I grew up 15 minutes from Corey Taylor's hometown of Des Moines Iowa little town Indianola. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you guys are huge fans of Slipknot. You guys are easily one of the top two or three reaction channels on UA-cam. Along with Alex Hefner mr. Video.
The reason I like alex is because when he reacts to a new band he goes all in! That's my issue with rappers react. I mean the discrepancy in the videos between Slipknot and Metallica or Slipknot and Evanescence it is not a matter of probably the request that yet it's I just have realize that I don't think they like the songs from Evanescence and Metallica As much as they let on. I mean they were Amazed by the few songs from Metallica but they have not even broke the seal yet on Metallica yet they went through that goddamn entire catalog of Slipknot are they going to move into stone sour next
I Like Rappers React channel but I'm getting very frustrated teen Slipknot every other day don't get me wrong I like a lot of Slipknot songs but there's a huge bias on that channel I mean Metallica has a goddamn album in the Library of Congress for fucksake! Good morning gentlemen!! This is a favorite of mine. Heard it for the first time in the middle of the night in the Afghan desert, during the most recent withdrawal. (I was late listening to WANYK) It was actually quite serene. I like what Smokey said about Corey bring the protagonist, antagonist, and narrator. That’s an interesting observation. I would love if you guys react to their song “Not Long For This World” it’s never reacted to on UA-cam and it’s my favorite song off the “we are not your kind” album, and one of my favorite Slipknot songs ever. It’s criminally underrated from the lyrics to the instruments it’s amazing.
I think that this is one of the best songs that they've done lately. I admit that I haven't paid attention to Slipknot in a while so I need to get up to speed. Great song.🤘 This song is so heavy. I remember when I first saw the track list and saw the name of this I couldn't wait to hear it and when I did it was nothing like I expected but I loved it. Especially love how they threw the Salem witch trials in there. I agree with Smokey, I think he was narrating for 3 different people (himself included). Gotta check out from this album birth of the cruel or not long for this world. And yes they are dropping a new album, supposedly sometime in August. In my opinion the parts that follow the beat where he says close your eyes and join the blind and others that follow that trend in the song is depression talking to the person and the cleaner vocals are supposed to be the protagonist

@MrNiceGuy no I didn't. I sent off 3 different messages and the artist was mentioned by name & band name. They reacted to Evanescence going under. They wanted to know in the comments section if they thought Amy Lee was better than floor Jansen. Which obviously is a matter of opinion I proceeded to tell them that they have not even scratched the surface on a Miele or Evanescence music and proceeded to tell them today that to hear her greatest vocals from the lowest octave to the highest range they needed to get in touch with their feminine side and listen to some slow heartbreaking songs that's where her best vocals are and those are the three titles

I would like to revisit your statement regarding slipknot being better than metallica from day one? If you are interested we can do a little Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless debating over the subject. And since you're probably going to be giving me your reasonings and evidence why that is your feeling I probably won't agree with much of it but I will respect your opinion but I'm just wondering what your argument points are going to be I can't think of more than a couple that you may have the upper hand on like I mentioned earlier the drummer but I could even argue that the newer age metal bands have better equipment especially with the ability to use their feet to make their drumming ability better than normal
So. My assumption, is Chris Fehn left the band due to a Lawsuit. Chris's Mask was based off the "White Liar" mask worn during Venetian times to those Who would be known to Gossip. My assumption is This song is about Chris departing from the Band! Buuuuut, the Song does seem to have some internal anger aswell. . . . JUST A THOUGHT!!

I’m not gonna lie. I’ve read some of these comments. That dnt make since to me. Liar is about being a witch… getting burned at the stake as a witch… and the liars are the ones who burned them. This song is about growth. About coming from Iowa with not shit. Then they are told you can’t do what you want to do. If you listen to it it’s all 3. That’s what’s makes slipknot great. They can tell their story as simply as they can but nobody understands it. Unless you hear it. Not listen to it like y’all do for views and likes and comments. Everybody can listen to it but most dnt hear the meaning. And I just seen y’all on YT. And to me it sounds like hear it the beats and all. Not the lyrics 😢😢

Just keeping up with the channel name I just checked your playlist! 46 f****** Slipknot songs. I'm going to bat for my two favorite bands Metallica and anything Amy Lee is singing! You reacted Amor Slipknot songs in the last 3 weeks then then all of your Metallica and Evanescence songs combined my question is gentleman you're so impressed by their songs but yet you're not diving right back into any other song from them. I'll give you guys tool drummer as maybe the Top Dog on the mountain he may share it with a couple other guys but as far as vocals and lead guitar and bass . guys it's Metallica and then everybody else

I think this song is blatantly about Chris. After The Grey Chapter, he decided to sue the band for whatever reason, which, needless to say, seems to have not been a great decision. Not only would this make him the liar, his mask is called "the liar" because of the Pinocchio nose. Something about Clown and Corey had been making more money over the years or some shit but they do the most side stuff, and it's Clown's band to begin with.
Wasn't the album mostly done by the time he sued the band though? Granted might have still been quite a bit to do on it, but the window between him suing the band and the album coming out, I doubt they'd have written, composed and mixed a song and then managed to add it into the album tracklist.
And for Slipknot to have almost three times as many reactions from you as Metallica that should be some kind of penalty. Your main audience must be millennials
Corey Taylor himself in many interview says that nobody holds a candle to Metallica
If those two bands went on tour a world tour let's say hypothetically. Slipknot would be the opening act every single night
I would give you the drummers from Slipknot over Lars but as far as the rest of the band Slipknot doesn't measure up to the other three spots. Remember I get to add Cliff Burton into that conversation.
I'm going to throw you some facts about each member of each band and what they bring to the music I'm going to give you specifics. At the end of the day it's okay to respectfully disagree but I would like to do this in a debate form. You're trying to convince me that slipknot's better and I'm trying to convince you that Metallica's better. At this point it's been just a strong opinion with no statistics. Well I'm going to go on a three or four paragraph argument on my side so bear with me brother
For starters. Metallica is the only metal band in history to have an album entered into the Library of Congress. No one will ever get in there besides them as far as metal goes that's my first statement.
It's really a shame for a reaction channel is popular as yours to have only reacted to what?4 Evanescence songs? That's a fucking crime.
