I have always loved Vermillion Pt. 2 over Vermillion Pt. 1. Just something about Pt. 2 just soothes and hits my soul, and I just love everything about Pt. 2.

I always viewed it as a love story fantasizing the idea of someone. Someone that doesn’t actually exist. Looking for the person to check all of the boxes. That perfect person doesn’t exist, for any of us. She isn’t real, and we can’t make her real.
Hard to come to terms with the understanding that there may always be a void in our relationships. It’s sad af. Parts 1 and 2 are some of my favorite Slipknot tracks, off my favorite album! V.3️⃣ 🙌🏻

That's one part of the interpretation. Another part is exactly what the original comment states. It can be viewed through the lense of a stalker in the sense that he's obsessed with an idealized version (all in his head) of this girl he's following around and thus she'll never be real. He's placed all these things upon an image and it's driving him insane to the point of despair (makes him sad). That's the beauty of art. It's up for interpretation.

Not going to lie - everytime I listen to Vermilion Part 2. It just makes me cry everytime. I just get so emotional over it - I just can't understand why - but I just love the song ❤️
Pt1 is about the obsession and pt2 is the aftermath of the obsession simply put. Pt 1 will always be my favorite because of the part where he goes "hard to say what caught my attention" the power he puts in that always gives me goosebumps. Been a maggot from the album Iowa till today and I love seeing you guys appreciate my favorites thank u
Always one of my favorite Slipknot songs as well as Vermillion pt 1. Years ago, went through a terrible divorce with my ex. After I caught her sleeping with my best friend while I was serving overseas in the military. It helped me deal with the hurt and the rage I felt for both of them. Forever a fan, Forever a Maggot.

Mushroomhead has a vermillion 1 and 2 type of tunes. " save us " and " Embrace The Ending " . Should definitely check both of those out.

I love heavy Slipknot but especially on album playthrough's it's dope to have these chill songs. Vermillion part 1 is probably my favourite on the album.

When MFKR first came out it was considered an full-length album, but it had no success and quite different lineup, so a few years later they re-branded it into demo-album. Still, it's totally worth listening to it, even though most of the fans tend to ignore it.
Speaking of this song, there is a remix version to it and I think it's better.
The Bloodstone Mix of it is amazing. It's a bonus track on All Hope is Gone.
The vocals on this are so beautiful. It’s one I have heard before and I had downloaded it. Great analysis.

MFKR was the 'knots demo/debut onto the scene. A lot of the songs on MFKR were used on their self titled album. It had Anders on vocals, but all the other pieces were pretty much there. Corey was added because Roadrunner wasn't feeling the growls from Anders...my how things changed since then.
This is one of my favourite Slipknot songs, the lyrics, the feelings, even the official video (you gotta watch it guys) it's so deep.

This one is goosebumps every time 🔥🔥and from a maggot who isn’t familiar with the story behind the lyrics I agree it’s almost like an obsession, or a one sided relationship-he was all in and she was not.

Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat was a demo that didn't get released some of the songs on it got redone with Corey in both the self-titled album and Iowa. It's not an official release but it's very rare so if anyone has the album it would be considered Slipknot lore.
I have a copy of that album. It’s a trip!!

They recorded that album in a haunted house and Vermillion was inspired by the female ghost that haunts the place or something like that.

I have a theory that Vermillion 1&2 and Sniff are about the same girl, and the mental anguish the character in the song is going through realizing the woman he loves and cherishes was someone else in reality

Such a great song, they really manage to sound awesome regardless of whether they go heavy or soft. Also they dropped the new album just a day or so ago, it's pretty solid! Very different from what I expected.

Was kind of hoping you would do Pt. 2 when you mentioned it in the Vermilion video. Both excellent tracks in their own ways.
I certainly consider M.F.K.R. an album and so did the band back when it was made, but they've since denounced it to be a demo. Whatever the case, it makes sense that Vol.3 was called that as it was the third Slipknot album released by Roadrunner Records.
Hands down one of my favorites from them. Subdued and haunting at the same time. I love how it showcases their versatility, like Snuff, as a group. We all know Slipknot can go ham but there’s something undeniably beautiful when they decide to strip it all back. Thank you so much for the reaction guys, hope y’all have a blessed day ❤.
According to the video, from my understanding.... The love of his life was dead but he had the power of the gods and tried to use that power to bring her back but couldn't. After many attempts, as she is lying in a field, he uses all his powers to lift her up and tried to wake her up till he finally realizes although she is there... She will never wake up and must let her go

The first vermillion is about stalking a victim then the second vermillion is the aftermath after the kill in the stalkers mind.

This song came out while I was in highschool, my best friend's cousin was everything to me but I was fat and crazy. She checked all my boxes of attraction and I only knew her because my friend id have done anything for her I completely loved her but because of who and what I was I couldn't even try to express my feelings so I was always trying to uncheck the boxes in my head and it broke my soul and my heart. She became a heroine addict and died 8 years later, no one saved her. My insecurities stopped me from trying. Brittney.
This has always been my favorite version of this song. There's something so haunting and beautiful about this version that I feel personally lingers with you more than the original. I guess you can say it leaks through and covers you.

This song always gives me Nine Inch Nails vibes. If you like this song then there are dozens of Nine Inch Nails songs that you'll love as well. I'm telling you guys you need to dedicate a day to going through NIN albums.
Red jumpsuit album was their first album on a major record label and their first record with Corey Taylor... Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat was just a demo album.

I used to hold self titled in higher esteem than all the others... as I grow older and am more honest with myself, I find that the others pale in comparison to Vol3. This is a masterpiece experiment

I used to have this album and the album had 2 disc and if I remember correctly vermilion part 2 was on the second disc.
I'm sorry if this was already said. I didn't read all of the comments. My understanding is that Vermillion is about the beginning of a new relationship. It's raw. It's energy. It's something that takes over your life. Part II is the breakup. It's the end of that raw emotion. It's the end of the "love" that is based on the feeling it provides as opposed to the "love" that comes from knowledge of the person and longevity of a true relationship.

This is probably my second favorite Slipknot song next to Killers Are Quiet.
Listening to this song now makes me think of a friend of mine in kinda this situation.
A guy we know keeps trying to spoil her and prove himself to be boyfriend material. He's completely in love with her, almost to the point of obsession. The problem is that she doesn't want him like that. She just wants to be friends. He says he's fine with that and respects her boundaries, yet his actions say otherwise. Its as if he sees her as this person that she's not and, if he does enough, she'll feel the same way for him.

From what I've gathered, the fans are about 50/50 split on whether MFKR was an actual album or more of a demo. I feel it was more a demo simply because a few songs were rewritten and used on the first 2 studio albums.

First off, Corey is not the end all, be all of Slipknot. They've soldiered on without Joey, past Paul and if for whatever reason Corey might leave, there is the likelihood they would still keep on truckin, as infinitesimally small as that probability may or may not be. But I digress.
As to the main point, MFKR is seen as a demo release or an EP. Only One and Tattered and Torn were remastered for '99s self-titled. Vol. 3 is their fourth release but third album, if that makes sense.
