Well there you have it, straight from the horses mouth! Great to see the original tying and hear the history from Peter! Can’t believe I never thought of sealing the ends of the legs with super glue to stop the flexi fraying! 🤦♂️… Thanks for putting this out Alec. 👍

That will be great Rhys, me and Peter love the look of your local fishery where you did your dry fly video, the place with the wooden platforms, maybe your dad can join us as well?? 🎣🐟
Thank you , the range of Apps worms are unbelievable fish catchers, I know they have also been fantastic at catching freshwater Bass in America, please let me know how you get on with them , tight lines 👍🎣🐟
Hi, great video! the 4 legs pattern does have different legs lenght based on hook size? ie. 4,5 cm for size 10 he said, for size 12 and 14 they have shorter legs? greetings fom Italy
Cheers, Peter has his legs a 1.5 inches, if you feel you need to make them shorter on the smaller hooks , don't go less than 1 inch as the movement of the fly is not as attractive. 👍🎣🐟
Just met Peter the legend today at sharply springs and as a novice to the sport I asked Peter for abit advice in which I must say the gentleman took the time to show and give me some of his knowledge really nice bloke thanks Peter
Hi great bit of history and insightful tying. Quick question, my globrite no 5 is like a hot orange? In the film yours looks pinkish can you clarify please thanks.
Hiya Alec, you know when Peter ties these 4 legged apps in other colours (amber/olive/pink) what do you use as a base thread..the pink globrite floss? or do you just try to get a thread or floss similar to the flexi colour and rib it the same?
Hi Alec, Would you be able to tell me what colour floss / thread is used on the 4 legged olive apps? Also what shade of olive flexi floss is used on both the 4 and 8 legged apps? Thank you.
Use medium olive thread and the flexi floss can be various shades of olive , from light , medium and dark , they all work with different water clarity 👍👍🐟
Hi Alec, Brilliant and very informative video from you and Peter. Can you please advise or point me in the right direction as to where I can purchase the ‘Gutterman 9/0 Olive Seed Beads. I have searched everywhere………I can find the beads but not in Olive……….Is there a substitute similar colour. Very much enjoyed this video plus the other video filmed on Rutland where you and Peter were demonstration the correct manner in Which to fish the fly.. Thank you…….keep the video’s coming……..really enjoy them….👍👍👍. Harry B.
Hi Alec, Many thanks for the information. I am not familiar with these beads…….. Is ‘Blue Jay’ a colour which is similar to Olive. You refer to ‘The Large Size’’…………I did read somewhere in the comments You advised someone to buy some size 8 instead of 9……… Is that what you are talking about?………thanking you😁😁
Loved that video, thank you both! So number 2 for pink, number 8 for amber and just use olive beads for olive. For the pulling version, does the number of beads go the same as the turns of rib on the static version......so 5 beads for size 10, 4 for size 12 and 3 for size 14? And definitely size 9 gutterman beads? I ordered a load but I have nowhere near the same space as Peter to get my Flexi floss in and tight to get on the hook. What brand and model of hook does Peter use as that's probably my problem? Sorry for all the questions Alan, just sat down to get a load tied
Yes that's right, you might have o check the olive beads coz you often get different sizes in the tubs, the quality control for he sze is not good, ge some 8/o if you can them there will be plenty room. Hanak 230BL wet hooks are a good model but expensive 👍🎣🐟

Thanks James, they are very versatile, the 4 LEGGED APPS are deadly fished slow with the odd kick, they also can be twiched back on lines from floating to sinking.
