i have used the 4 leg version a lot and caught plenty on cold days especially , they are very good used with an indicator, but ive seen them being pulled quickly at my local fishery with great results. I must try this version, thanks.
Yeh same with most rubber products they will go brittle under daylight and lamps in the house and in shops also if they have been on the shelve for a while
@@TheDavedownie That'll explain why the stuff i bought that was reduced was sh*te! Really enjoying tying/fishing with your maribou, makes the previous Veniards stuff look total pants! Another order coming soon . You take care
I have used them quite a bit but the original apps in red with 2 legs at the back and 2 facing forward. It’s a good fly and works well if the fish are wanting it like most flies. Always good to have a few in the box.
@@TheDavedownie they actually last quite a long time in the box, it’s not like the squirmy wormy stuff that disintegrates. I use the uni-flexx stuff you get on a spool. Seems to last well and I also use varnish which doesn’t seem to effect it.
Im sure you will manage it and i don't measure them so you can have them an inch at least or longer if you prefer, like most flies its the movement that attacts the fish and as fish dont have hands to touch they have to use thier mouths to investigate and then you know what happens next, bent rods :)
Speed tying by Dave Downie!!
I've never used them myself but I've tied a few. I'll try this quick method tho!!
All the best!!
Chris.
Yeh flies are so you can go catch fish, not sit and tie all day lol. Not long now for Loch Leven to open again :)
That is an ingenious way to tie that fly. Really, great thinking; super simple and fast.
The way I like it easy peasy and no fiddling :)
Interesting tie David. Quick and simple.

Great video, and good advice about the spanflex/flexifloss degrading, didn't know that, so thanks.

Very nice. I might even be able to tye that? Lol Do you measure ( should I measure each set of legs? )
