    Just a tip regarding paint removal. I personally hate paint stripper because it is caustic, sloppy, and inconvenient, not to mention costly. I have a small glass jar that I keep acetone (nail polish remover) in. All you need to do is place the car in the jar for a period of time, and depending on the paint (some paint just comes off in minutes, whereas some Hot Wheels models, particularly the Car Cluture premium models have extremely durable paint jobs). The car doesn't even need to be submerged in the acetone, either. I've found just the fumes alone are enough for the paint to lose the adhesion. Regardless, once the paint is loosened, I then use steel wool / steel scouring pads to scrub the peeling paint or stubborn patches off. I perform the paint removal in a sink lined with a paper towell, let the peeled paint. decals, and steel pad bits fall into the paper towel, and throw that residue into the garbage. It has save me a great deal of time, money (nail polish remover is no more than $3.00 at most vs. at least $7 and up for paint strippers), and unpleasant dryness / tenderness to my hands. And if you care about it, you're not putting all that residue and chemicals into the water supply. I have no use for paint stripper whatsoever.

    Get yourself some Microscale Micro-Set and Micro-Sol. Both work in conjunction with each other, but it's the Micro-Sol with the red lettering on the bottle that makes your decals look as if they are painted on, no visible lines from decal edges can be seen and the solvent actually forms the decals over imperfect surfaces, cracks crevaces or whatever the decals needs to be stretched over. The trick is with this stuff is to apply a liberal amount to the decal and walk away for a while and let the solvent work! The decal will literally form around whatever it was you put it on. Well worth the purchase and your hobby store should carry it

      I'm not a customizer myself (yet, bc now I'm thinking about it lol), but I'd think it would just be up to personal preference if you want a more glossy or matte finish

    • @ClosetShopCustoms
      @ClosetShopCustoms 5 місяців тому +2

      Yes. If you want to use decals, they will peel off in around a month if you don't apply clear coat!! I also find it to help not scratch the paint, it comes off more easily than you would expect when customizing. You can get carried away, but the clear coat is always a great help. But if you want to do details and decals, it's a must!!!

      I personally use spray paint but airbrush you can get more custom looks I just don’t have one yet, and if the wheels don’t roll because of camber you need to grind the wheel wheels of the car to make more room for the wheels to roll
