I’ve been following the recommended diet for pitta dominant dosha, lots of cool herbs and veggies.. no spices.. coffee in moderation.. it works and balances me and cools me.. how ever, now it’s winter time! And the last few days I’ve been feeling ‘too cool’ maybe Kapha or vata dominant.. so I ate a very spicy hot bean curry! And I felt amazingly alive and balanced! I forgot ayurveda is about listening to your body, and giving it what it needs and when it needs depending on how it feels and the season of the year! It’s magical.
very cool :)

I'm pitta. Very true- I have to be careful on the garlic and tomatoes. I hate onions and tried hot yoga once. Never again.
so good to know ones self :)
Onion, especially raw has a cooling effect.
Same here, especially with tomatos which i love :/ and fats-even healthy fats...i immediately get acne on my chin:(
Great video. Thank you so much. My pitta dosha is chilled out. Subscribed right away!
awww, thank you :)
Thanks for the video. Most facts resonated with me. Found one point contradictory: Onion, especially raw has a cooling effect.

Glad it was helpful!
My Pitta hubby of of 23 yrs has pretty much figured out what's good for himself, which is so beautiful. Taking breaks can be a challenge when they are set on a course! But I love him more each day as I do myself.☺️🙏🌺
Thanks for sharing!!
watching this video right now, I am huge pitta dosha. I even had stomach problems because I didnt know who I am. Colling myself in water is best thing ever. Just going to river and put my legs and arms into water is enough to cool my fire inside me. Thank you Melissa!
you're welcome :)
Hello ma'am..can you make a whole video of yoga for pitta dosha people.
So right about the yoga! Everybody likes it and it's just not for me.
I understand :)
I definitely have a lot of pitta dosha in me. Tx for calming advice.
you're very welcome Lucie :)
One thing you’ve not mentioned is that everyone is very different and to make sure they cater to that. Ie... you may be high pitta BUT have compromised Agni in which case you will want to avoid raw foods.
Best thing to do, no matter what your constitution, if you’re having any issues is to chat to a practitioner and always remember to pay attention to your own body’s signals above all else ☺️ x
Brilliant I'm a pitta and get terrible acid and oily skin x
I'm glad it was helpful Luan, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. ❤️🔥

My Pitta dosha needs chilling out...good video
thanks Disco :)
I intuitively stopped eating certain foods since 2013.. started with stopping coffee and fizzy drinks than later on in 2017 I stopped eating red meat and focused more on veggies and fruits. I did that without even knowing about me being a Pitta Dosha !! However, I love my garlic and onions I can't cook a meal without including one of them or both ! It just doesn't taste the same .. but since I now know that it isn't good for me I will try to cut down the amounts 😥
good to know right? enjoy your garlic...i love garlic :)

I've been doing hot yoga for a long time. Now I know why I feel so grouchy afterwards. But my body has benefitted so much from it in so many ways, there isn't room here to list.
awesome to hear JJ :)
My pitta dosha is chilled out 😃 i am combination of vatta and pitta so this was helpful 😉

Amazing Video......My Problem...If I start working on system for some time, I get join pains in my finger joint especially index finger...pain and uncomfort on hands...please suggest solution......my body is already pitta type as I take seasme seeds, raggi my body gers heated up and top of it, I have vatta dosha seems to be...both are making my life abnormal...I started taking ashwagandha but it was increasing heat in the body making problems worst
Thankyou friend. I have a very cold body so could you tell what I can do. I haveall symptoms of pitta dosha.
Hi thank you for an awesome explanation, what are the recommendations for someone who's predominantly pitta dosha that wants to lift weights, it's the most enjoyable form of exercise for me and i'd like to know how best to approach it without upsetting my mind/body, thank you.
Just listen to you body while lifting and see what works for you...everyone is different and your response might be too :)
I usually mix fresh Turmeric with milk and a pinch of Trikatu or Black Pepper in a small blender for anti-inflammatory effects. Being a Pitta-Vata dosha, this overheats my body, especially during the Summer. What can I combine with fresh Turmeric to reduce “Pitta” aggravation?
Very helpful video. Totally love Ayurveda.❤️
Ever heard of the kansa wand?✨
I'll check it out!
harp liquid, pitta seasons, naturaly good at problem sloving, searching for pools
Thanks so much i love onions what do I do.
I do too
What about ghee? Not sure if people in the US eat Ghee. Researched that ghee removes pitta and gives calming effect. You agree with this?
*pls do yoga and breath exercise that pitta dosha should do*
on my other channel :)
Mam plz tell whether blue berries are good for calming pitta?
Hello! Thank you so much for your words. I've heard in Ayurveda that we eat fruits alone, and we should eat them in the morning. I love eating fruits for breakfast, but usually my blood sugar crashes just an hour or two after. Can we add some chia seeds with fruit? Or soaked nuts/flax meal? I read chia seeds can be combined with fruit because they are hydroponic.
you could try it and see :)
How to reduce Pitta and upgrade Agni ? One🔥must 🆙 and the other ⤵️, they are the opposites in this rebalacing process... ?
Yesss. This is for me lol
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks a lot for your information. I have found with one ayurvedic doctor that I have the pitta dosha. You too suggested the same what he suggested. I have question releated to this. I have psoriasis for 7 years and no medication help me in permanatly. All saying this diesese link to toxins in our blood. But my inner thoughts saying this is happening because of the dosha imbalance, therefore if I take care of dosha I will be free from psoriasis. Am I correct? Please advice.
Thanks to my lecturer MrJobbie today I got to learn about the 3 Dosha' s and a turned out to be a Pitta Dosha while my husband is a Kapha😉😉
how awesome to gain the knowledge Abigael :)
Hi Melissa, I have taken a few dosha tests just to confirm my results, I am a Vata-Pitta type. I understand it’s a bit contradictory at times but I am following the advice on seasons, i.e. Vatta from October to May (colder months) and Pitta from June to September (warmer months), Is that right? Also, do you have a video on that combination? Thank you for your videos and for sharing your wisdom.
Awesome! Yes sounds right and will have lots more coming soon :)
How does this strategy work for you? :)
I don't like spicy and onion. I don't like hot coffee.
I love melon, watermelon.. all these kind of fruits. I'm focusing in my hips and back since I have started to practice yoga. (Around two months)
I'm very intuitive, is it a pitta dosha trait?
sounds like it might be for you :)
In how much time can i eliminate/alleviate my pitta dosha from the system??Also what kind of alcohol/smoke can a pitta dosha tolerate the most??Kindly reply mam.
I like to eat everything that is not so good for pitta. And I couldn't realize that that's the reason why I have so many problems to regulate my stomach acid
:)
Nice video.
What about Pitta dosha with low agni? My stomach can't digest and always with acid reflux.
I did avoid any strong spices but now a lot of mucus comes to the throat.
In dosha quiz, came up 8 out of 10 pitta and 2 vata.
Any suggestion please
Wow!! I am pitta dosha and just took a yin yoga class ..my body just lead me to it. What other types of yoga is good for cooling pitta?
I would recommend Restorative Yoga ua-cam.com/video/zkNYjO5ztQ8/v-deo.html
and
Yoga Nidra ua-cam.com/video/Bl6fs89lJXQ/v-deo.html
in addition to
Yin Yoga ua-cam.com/video/l59RmHmQcGc/v-deo.html
I have problem of nightfall 2,3 times a week for 3 years , it increases more with eating spicy , reD meat , junkfood and Now i limit eating spicy, sour and taking coffee . I think its due to excess in Pitta dosha.. I had distrub for 3 years due to frequent nightfall which cause weakness .
thanks for sharing Rashid :)
I drink matcha, barley weed, nettle powder, ashwagandha and brahma. That is how I breathe in and get my balanced energy. If I need I put some fresh ginger in. It was my doctor who told me about this cause she is like me. 😊
sounds wonderful Hej :)

My pitta dosha is chilled out . . . except for the coffee. I do like the occasional (maybe more than occasional) latte. And I'm working on the skipping meals bit. That's hard for me too.

I just learned im a vata dosha my boyfriend is pita dosha. It makes sense why our food taste are so different. For example I always like cooked veggies cooked in plenty of oils and he like raw veggie salads.
awesome Lexi
im almost all Pitta. I wish I had understood this 30 years ago!
:)
@@YogaLifestylewithMelissa do you have any suggestions about how to transition easier into balance?
I've spent the past 7 years opening businesses and living off of fast food and hot sauce lol. I've never slept much as I stay up late because they are my most productive hours (and most relaxing). I also have been doing high impact sports my whole life. I have also had sever inflammation and skin issues my whole life. I have felt "starving" in some way as long as I can remember, literally and emotionally. I'm 35 and I can't eat like a horse anymore and my body is feeling the impact of my life style.
I've spent the past week completely changing
What I eat.. I feel far more grounded and mindful and consistent (and hydrated lol) But I'm almost depressed from my lack of productivity and coming down from years of living with so many "highs". It feels very weird to not have intense cravings or burst of feelings. I had to Google what kind of exercises one can do that are more peaceful?
@@liddlemountain7245 Same here. I'm also Pitta but didnt know for a long time, I have had iritis (eye inflammation) and appendicitis, they had to remove it all, all caused from too much heat. Stopped eating meat and sugar now, only way I can be healthy sadly.
