    this video may have saved my life. I watched this, one week, before I got my M109. This guy explained, perfectly, what this bike will do, when down shifting. The rear tire WILL "lock up", when not matching the revs. I have had this happen a few times, even when I was careful. If you get this bike, respect the power, AND WEIGHT, and it WILL give you a thrill, riding it. DON'T, and watch yourself get thrown. having said that, I absolutely love my M109.

      absolutely right. I drive big bikes last 15 years and its s problem downshifting on low revs. also, because if the shire size of the back tyre you must put twice a effort in corners. But its a great ride. Use to own honda vtx 1800 now I ride this bad boy Suzuki boulevard m109r !!

      If you are downshifting to use engine braking, like going into a corner, then yes that has also been my experience on my M109 (or M1800 as it's called over here.) Give it some throttle before you let the clutch out. But if you are already slowed to a speed that actually needs a lower gear then it's no problem.

    Ive grown up on crotch rockets and got a M109R and hes right, only advanced riders. It for sure will push you through turns and has soooo much dang torque, very jumpy, a lot of back compression when down shifting. It will literally try to pull your hands off the grips if you full throttle it thru every gears, its a beast, super fun. Im trying not to get too comfortable on it cause they have a mind of there own. Super fun bike though and get compliments on it juat about everytime i ride. A true muscle bike. Be safe ya'll.😊

      I had a vrod nightrod special and I can kind of agree with you here. The Vrod just lacked the torque the M109R has, but it had the horsepower to keep up. Suzuki did a great job with this bike. The low end torque and high end horsepower makes this bike so much fun to ride. Also the mono shock made the back end look good. The Vrod's came with a 1940's rear suspension!

    Now that is a bike! What a monster. I've been really enjoying watching your videos, Sean. Only a few days ago I decided to look into motorcycles for the first time, and I managed to find a video of you riding an early 2000's Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic, a touring bike that I would like to get once I become more confident in riding, and I've been watching video after video of your test drives. Very enjoyable, and I find your insights into each bike you're riding both interesting and educational. I love that you do the right thing by your customers with your walk-around videos; things like that really do set your business apart from the rest, along with your competitive prices. Cheers from Australia!

    Being Japanese, and owning a 2014 M109R Limited Edition, I do believe I've busted your theory on if we ride these. Lol
    On a side note, your engine braking is far smoother than mine. I have the same Freedom Performance Radius Curve exhaust, and I have a much rougher engine braking...so I tend to not do it. Do you remember if your M109R had some form of power commander or tuning beyond stock? I haven't tuned mine for the exhaust, yet, and am curious if that would affect engine braking.

    • @Srkcycles
      @Srkcycles  8 років тому +2

      @@Srkcycles I can't help but come back to watch this video when the weather doesn't permit me being on two wheels. A follow-up to my engine braking comment, I got a Cobra Black module for my M109R, the model that auto-tunes your fuel delivery at like 80 times per second. It smoothed out my engine braking and exhaust note significantly, so I would suspect the bike in this video probably had something of the sort. Oorah for the M109R.

      Vmax 1200 will out perform it easily and the 1700cc gen 2 is no comparison, but the vmax does have twice the cylinders lol still nothing like a big twin, can’t go wrong either way!

    An advanced rider would be able to come to a complete stop on right hand turns. But I think Suzuki was genius at making a 50ci then the 90ci and the 109ci, to keep riders involved with thier cycles. A perfect escalation. I haven't ridden in 14 years, and am 63. So I got me a C50T. After just a few times out, I am already thinking of the C90 for next year. I will keep the C50. In the past I've owned a Vulcan 1500cc with hydraulic clutch. And a HD sporster, bored and stroked to 1400cc. But this 109ci would, I imagine, take some getting used to. So far, the only bikes to scare me were a Kawasaki KZ900 (felt like I almost couldn't hold on) and some old HD that I test drove, that had the clutch and brake levers on the opposite sides, and a suicide lever to shift, and it was at night. What's next.....BOSS HOSS 350CI V-8?????

    great video mate as owner of 09 le109 I have to agree this beauty is not for beginner's, it will do everything you ask of it but if you make a mistake it will show you no mercy. Advice for future owners show this bike respect it demands and follow service schedule to the dot and you will enjoy many years of trouble free fun.

      Agreed. Passed my test 6 months ago and got my M109 (M1800) a month ago. Gradually building up the miles and experience but riding only with caution, silky smooth on the controls and plenty of forward planning! Actually feels solid as a rock on the straight, much more stable than my Honda CB600F, but no way would I ever throw it around like the 600.I'd say ride it like a cruiser should be ridden even if it tempts you to do otherwise.

      Neil Justin form the money they are one of the best motorcycle out there, m109r benefits from better tyres the factory Dunlop are just horrible. I been running Pirelli night dragon 140/70 B18 on front wheel and Pirelli 240 at the back it really transformed the bike.

  • @Pendragon501
    @Pendragon501 6 років тому +1

    This bike isn't has fast as you think it is and it most certainly doesn't take a super advanced rider to control these things. I road one after riding a little Ninja 250 for only a week. I found it to be super easy to ride even with it's massive weight.

    M109R vs HD V Rod Muscle?.... I'm a car guy getting into bike's and bike motors due to a planned lifestyle change... The M109 Looks awesome and sounds bad ass. But how does it stack against the V Rod?....not just power but everything... Classic muscle sound?? .... torque?? Is it liquid cooled??

    • @tat2wheelz
      @tat2wheelz 5 років тому

      The M109R killed the VRod in every aspect. Style, power, price, and yes it is liquid cooled. They call the M109R the Harley eater for a reason. 2.9 seconds in a 0 to 60 speed time. Only thing faster would be a Rocket 3 or VMaxx

    • @richiepomeroy2945
