I own the very same bike in the same color. This thing has a lot of character. This is NOT a boring bike to own and ride. The only 2 flaws it really has in my opinion are (1) NO ABS and NO TRACTION CONTROL The rear tire has been known to slip from under you and with that kind of torque it should have some traction control; and (2) the transmission is VERY CLUNKY. Shifting from 1st to 2nd sounds and feels like loading a rocket launcher. It can be fun here and there but when there's traffic and you need to shift a lot, it gets annoying. As far as cruisers go the m109 has no equal at All not even close. Pictures do not do it justice. Until you've seen it in person you can't understand just how beautiful it is. Then it has that reliability that lets be honest, the Japanese bikes just have hands down. Ive heard many times in my life hey I gotta check my oil my factory oil leak seemed a little big today! My youngest had an M90. Everything the same as the 109 except the engine is a bit smaller. The bike is a beast! I can only imagine how a 109 performs. I was sorry to hear he got rid of it. I think he misses it as well.
The M109R is a wicked bike. Great fun. Suzuki technology packed this bike with lots of punch and handling. The heads have GSXR Technology and the front end gives it great braking and handling. Can do burnouts on the move. 😁👍
I’ve always heard that they call these the “Busa Cruiser” since apparently the Hayabusa development team had a big hand in the M109R. I love this thing. If I was a bike rider this thing would be my dream. It’s basically the motorcycle version of a C4 Vette with a built 502ci crammed into it. It’s big, it’s brash, it’s bold, it’s utterly ridiculous. But my God does it look and sound good and have the personality of a Pit Bull.

Shawn i swear, you have to be like the best salesman in the world. Lol i have an m50, love my bike, was always scared of going heavier, but now i really really really want an m109 or atleast a m90
I have one - I'm only 5'6", 185lbs and I can throw this bike around, don't be fooled by the size. This bike is awesome. I also added the Freedom Exhaust, which makes it sound like a Monster109. My only complaint is the fuel tank. It'll say full but once it goes down 1/2 gallon you'll have about 50 miles to empty.
Best bike ever is my '05 GSF 650 BANDIT, not a Bandit S, better than a Bandit S, more torque. One careful very cautious owner who basically ran it in for 15,000 miles and it pulls, fly's up steep, steep hills like its falling off a cliff. ACCELERATION, A PURE BIKING TREAT. REWARD FOR WANTING TO RIDE. And I ain't even lying.
I'm on my second one. For price and performance it just can't be beat. And, the aftermarket options are insane. The intakes, pipes and license plate mount are always the first to go. Fur those that need to to ride with luggage and hate wind in their face, there's always the C109!😂
@@jDot2414 it's firmly planted at 80....u can do 80 all day long. It'll do a ĺot more but once u hit triple digits , wind turbulence becomes uncomfortable.... then u need a gsxr🤣
Note to self "This is just the best bike Ever ... period ... No contest ... You know how I know I have one in the Garage And every time I ride it, it makes my face hurt Not from bugs hitting me in the face Not from the wind buffeting me when I go fast But Because every time I ride it I can;t lose that stupid grin I get every time I ride it
Windshield to try is the Memphis Shades Drop Top, it has a 3in adjustable wing, the wing throws most of the air up very high but allows some to sneak in underneath, this really stops the buffeting, plus you can have much lower windshield giving same deflection.......13in windshield with wing all the way up making it 16in windshield will provide the deflection of 19in windshield without the buffeting.........for crotch rockets twisted throttle has similar in crotch rocket style
This bike is the best looking Cruiser, and the Victory Magnum was the best looking Bagger. Indian Cheiftain Darkhorse is after the Victory....those are the must haves....Period!!!
I went straight from a Honda CB600F to one of these, and spent the first 3 weeks just staring at it in awe in my garage. Just getting it safely out of the garage felt like an achievement in itself. But it’s true what they say, when it started rolling all that weight just melted away and the low seat and being able to flat foot it when stopped gives you extra confidence. I hadn’t ridden a cruiser before so the forward leg position was weird but only for a few seconds, now it feels like the most natural position. But perhaps the most remarkable thing I found (besides the huge torque obviously) was how easily it handled. Yes you have to plan ahead more, and be aware of the length and ground clearance when cornering, but the bike just feels so balanced and so stable. The limiting factor is the ground clearance, I’ve been angled over on tight corners, feeling in perfect control, and have been surprised when the pegs scratched the road, but maybe it’s no bad thing that this gets your attention while the bike is still well within its safe handling limits. People thought I was nuts going from a CB600 to an M109R (M1800R here in U.K.) but I always say even the biggest and most powerful bike is only as scary as your right wrist allows it to be. So it was with mine, I kept the speed down and just pottered around local roads for the first few weeks to get the feel of it before taking it out on open roads at higher speeds (where if anything it actually feels safer, this bike loves straight lines and wide sweepers.)
Dude. I came here to watch a bike review and wasn't expecting to see some scripture. To be honest it gave me a little bit of peace and warmth. I appreciate your willingness to share the gospel in times like this. Thanks man. Subbed.
Crazy to say it but I’ve owned 5 of these bikes. I own one and sell it thinking I’ll try this or that. I soon get bored with a lack of performance and go back to the M109r. One thing I have found that really improves the ergonomics of the bike is to swap out the handlebar mounts for the aftermarket ones that move the handlebars two inches closer to the rider.
I have been riding my whole life. I've owned several bikes including my Suzuki GS 400 ( one of my first and favorite). I currently have a Vulcan Nomad 1500 but really want the 109 platform. I've watched many of your videos and you do a good job. The reason for the bigger, smaller bike is my NOMAS is full dress and I love it but I want a motor on wheels without all the candy. I believe this bike will be in my garage soon
Since we have the same father, I truly love you rider brother😁. This video a few weeks ago change everything!! 15 years of sports riding, just became a thing of the past. I let loose my 2nd wife, the Gxsr750R yesterday, and got a M109R. Exciting is putting it short. Wow……. My wife sat on it and love it🙏. Blessed be God almighty. She has never felt compassionate about sharing me to a crazier beast. But the M109R, got her blushing. She first saw the m109r, in the garage with the rider seat and almost hanged me, “hey!! where is my seat, why does it only have one seat!!!.”🤭 Too funny, minutes later. I installed the passenger seat and back rest. She sat on it, and call all her friends. She became friends with the M109r in first sight. Thanks to you brother. This video is spot on. Keep up the good work.
I own one, 2017, BOSS, its an amazing bike. My previous buke was the vulcan vn2000, loved it, but this 1800 is nice too. Im a tall dude but i still threw on the handlebar risers because i want to sit back and relax. Shes got some power behind her though
I bought brand new in 06 a Suzuki Blvd M50 in yellow black and grey that performed, handled and rode better than my 06 HD Night Train. Loved that bike. Not as “cool” as a Harley and riddled with plastic but shaft driven and liquid cooled it rode amazing and for 800cc compared to the 1450 or whatever my NT is the Suzuki rode waaay better on the highway, had better throttle response, cornering and braking. For more than half the price of the Harley it’s the better bike, hands down. You’re right about the gears, too, it had 5 gears but it was never an issue. However with my NT it’s missing that 6th gear and it shows… great “bar hopper” though. Now compared to my 22 FXLRS… SWEET BIKE that I’m totally satisfied with. The bike is an absolute monster. Regardless, I’m a big fan of the Boulevard series and think they kick ass for the price... I’d buy another one, for sure.
im currently in the market for this style/size bike. The only reason im leaning towards the SportGlide over everything else is the cruise control feature. I ride 45+ minutes one way to work every day. I wish my 02 gsxr had it.
Risen 19 109, great ride, however, like the ( more so) Yamaha Stryker it is a license losser Yes yes you think you can keep your foot out of the carb, but the first time you let it loose it's all over, might as well just turn your license in Yes you coulda done 0-60 a little faster Crotch rockets need 6 gears, they are close range with high rev motors Cruisers don't need 6, the reason so many think there needs to be another year is because they have shifted to high before they have finished acceleration You reach cruise speed in 4th then shift to 5th.........of course some bikes don't need 4th Stryker m109, m&c 90's ........ C90T cruises 60mph in 3rd with plenty to spare For about $200 get national cycle windshield made to look extra cool and blow the wind around and above you.
Boulevards are the prettiest Cruisers.. Possibly a perfect mix of looks and Japanese refinement, reliability. Guess they didn’t succeed as much as they deserved ?
I have an ‘07 in black & chrome, all stock except for having a V-Stream screen fitted. I totally agree with your conclusions, for me this bike represents the essence of motorcycling and all the add on gadgets that other bikes have are kind of superfluous to the reason we love to ride. Power, looks, presence, sound are what it’s all about. The only modifications I’d like to see are ABS and perhaps a gear indicator, although I’ve learned to live without the latter. I wonder, do the newer models have ABS? Because if I ever trade mine in, it will only be for a newer model of the same bike. There is just one thing I haven’t tried yet, but definitely want to, and that is long distance touring across Europe. I’ve covered 400 miles in a day before and it felt fine, especially with the screen. The only drawback I can see is the lack of luggage space, but a section of the rear “duck tail” can be removed and a pillion seat fitted which allows you to also fit a couple of saddle bags. You can’t carry the kitchen sink but if like me you travel light and only need spare underwear, T shirt, shorts, washing kit etc, then it should be fine. I’m talking solo riding here (I also have a sissy bar but I never fit it, and even with that I’m not sure this bike would be so great for a passenger.)
@@tsrwakemaster Well I am 6'4" so when I was looking I tried the M-109 and it being a little shorter w/b I was not as comfortable on it.i tried the Raider I had room to stretch out my legs.BTW the Raider is just a hair short of 6' w/b.
It's an awesome bike. I had one once, but it hasn't been updated since 2008, and even then it was just a radiator change from what I understand. It needs ABS, a 6 speed so it doesn't vibrate the damn skin off my feet and hands, and also for better than the 24 mpg I got with it, and a bigger tank. Thing has no range. For the record, if Suzuki did update it, I would buy one sight unseen.
There’s a lot of plastic on this bike. They shouldn’t have unbranded them either. A boss shouldn’t have mirrors like this or reflectors like those. Cut those pipes down also or re-tune this thing. It’s still amazing, I just want the BOSS to be meaner and not in any need of any after-market make-ups. If I bought this I’d budget for some appearance upgrades day 1. Good comment on the 6th gear, glad to know it’s not needed. Why do you ride on the right side of the lane? BTW the voice quality on your video is perfect!
The fuel light is a pain in the arse. I always have to put a bit of fuel in when it comes on. Love the bike though. If your thinking about getting one, just do it!
I dont know if it is just the shape of the tank, but I find when mine has a full tank, it shows full for a long time. As soon as it loses one fuel bar on the display, the rate just picks up.

From: new Harley owner
I own a 2017 M109R and I’m totally agreed best muscle bike out there, before I had the ducati Diavel, bike was total garbage, I’m very happy with my M109R
Your Diavel was Garbage? Explain
Brett Thompson ua-cam.com/video/8Jh4rAeyuvY/v-deo.html watch this video I uploaded long time ago, the bike had no quality control, keeps braking down for no reasons and for maintenance you got it be rich
I have a C90 and a C50 just love these bikes!
That bike is gorgeous
"even though it doesn't have a windshield it has this little thing that keeps the wind... no it doesnt... I don't know what that thing does. But it looks awesome" lol.
It’s let’s wind resistance when ur pushing it home
I love my 19 m109r . Best bike I ever had .
Shawn i swear, you have to be like the best salesman in the world. Lol i have an m50, love my bike, was always scared of going heavier, but now i really really really want an m109 or atleast a m90
You won't be disappointed,
Awesome video, huge fan, that is my dream bike I just got mine and it is AWEEEEEESOME!!
I'm 5'6" and about 125. think I could handle it?
@@ultimatebradass3850 definitely would not advise it.
I will own one in the near future. I always liked them when they were first introduced.
That blue color is amazing
The M109 is great I had a VTX1800 which is an awesome bike. Now I want to get into a Triumph R3.
I'm on my second one. For price and performance it just can't be beat. And, the aftermarket options are insane. The intakes, pipes and license plate mount are always the first to go. Fur those that need to to ride with luggage and hate wind in their face, there's always the C109!😂
Does this bike do 80 mph comfortably?
@@jDot2414 it's firmly planted at 80....u can do 80 all day long. It'll do a ĺot more but once u hit triple digits , wind turbulence becomes uncomfortable.... then u need a gsxr🤣
@@mironkorzalko7761 thanks for the response. Lmao yea speed is not for me, 80/85 is good enough. Is the bike comfortable ride ?
@@jDot2414yes and yes! Feels great. Daily commuter for me
The first time I rode mine. Tryed a wheelie up the highway at 40mph The back broke loose real easy.massive amount of balls bro
Note to self "This is just the best bike Ever ... period ... No contest ... You know how I know
I have one in the Garage
And every time I ride it, it makes my face hurt
Not from bugs hitting me in the face
Not from the wind buffeting me when I go fast
But Because every time I ride it I can;t lose that stupid grin I get every time I ride it
Thumbs up for the Suzuki🤠👍
Windshield to try is the Memphis Shades Drop Top, it has a 3in adjustable wing, the wing throws most of the air up very high but allows some to sneak in underneath, this really stops the buffeting, plus you can have much lower windshield giving same deflection.......13in windshield with wing all the way up making it 16in windshield will provide the deflection of 19in windshield without the buffeting.........for crotch rockets twisted throttle has similar in crotch rocket style
That is one clean bike!!!! Love the color scheme as well!!great bikes brother blessings!!
Thank you for finally reviewing this bike 🙏 now you gotta do a current generation vmax 👍👍👍
This bike is the best looking Cruiser, and the Victory Magnum was the best looking Bagger. Indian Cheiftain Darkhorse is after the Victory....those are the must haves....Period!!!
Love the gear indicator.
Love that bike in that color!!
"It gets up to 45 really qui...Whats that speed limit say¿¿¿"......."It gets up to 35 really quickly"😂😂😂
lol
Three gears that's at least 75 on mine.
I love driving my motorcycle. I drive it every chance I get. I think all motorcycle drivers love driving on the open road.
I wanted an m109 until I saw in person how huge it was. I went with the 50. Great bike also.
I'm thinking the same, how is the m50 so far? Mostly city commute. Stay safe
My admire from the first sight years ago. Sadly, I'm short for her.
And yeah, "not only style but presence". Best wording.
i have a friend who stands at 5'6 who rides a m109. raised bar with air ride. the bike lowers its self when it stops. good luck
@@grandmaster-grouch Wow, I never thought about air ride, it gives me ray of hope, I'm 5 and 8. Thanks!
Love this bike, it's a real beast.
I had one a few years back. It was awesome. Just really really big
I’ve found that a convertible gives you a feeling similar to riding a motorcycle, especially on a cool summer night
GSD fan yeah no
Lifted jeep with no doors or roof and windshield down and stick shift you're close but with lousy gas mileage
That thing accelerated so fast, that for a second i thought the van parked on the side was reversing.
Yes you definitely right I have one of the fist one built Australia 2006 and keep riding every day’s love your video great staff
M109R -life.
I own one, 2017, BOSS, its an amazing bike. My previous buke was the vulcan vn2000, loved it, but this 1800 is nice too. Im a tall dude but i still threw on the handlebar risers because i want to sit back and relax.
Shes got some power behind her though
Fixing to buy one tomorrow afternoon!!!!!
Love the color on that bike!
I have an absolute bum knee and the vibrations off this bike are a dream come true. I barely feel it up my leg
My brother has the m109r. He can run with me to 150 mph. Awesome bikes
Really? Complete BS !! I owned a 2014 and now have a 2017 (see my videos). Top speed is 110mph and it's not limited. That's the actual top speed.
Wrong Ive been to 150 MPH on mine.
@@pythonman8103 You're absolutely right! Mine has 150 on the speedometer. I've had it at 130, with some more available twist left in the throttle!!!!
Love the look of this bike!
im currently in the market for this style/size bike. The only reason im leaning towards the SportGlide over everything else is the cruise control feature. I ride 45+ minutes one way to work every day. I wish my 02 gsxr had it.
For the Alliance!
I have a 2012 m109r i go in the garage and just stair at it,every day, start it up, and love it, 7 days a week
You can’t escape your problems forever by buying new motorcycles my mom tells me like everything day
Heard dat
Don’t listen to her.
He who has the most toys when he dies wins.
Risen 19 109, great ride, however, like the ( more so) Yamaha Stryker it is a license losser
Yes yes you think you can keep your foot out of the carb, but the first time you let it loose it's all over, might as well just turn your license in
Yes you coulda done 0-60 a little faster
Crotch rockets need 6 gears, they are close range with high rev motors
Cruisers don't need 6, the reason so many think there needs to be another year is because
they have shifted to high before they have finished acceleration
You reach cruise speed in 4th then shift to 5th.........of course some bikes don't need 4th
Stryker m109, m&c 90's ........ C90T cruises 60mph in 3rd with plenty to spare
For about $200 get national cycle windshield made to look extra cool and blow the wind around and above you.
Seriously one of the best looking bikes
Thanks for validating my choice! Got the exact same bike.
Boulevards are the prettiest Cruisers.. Possibly a perfect mix of looks and Japanese refinement, reliability.
Guess they didn’t succeed as much as they deserved ?
Yeah I want this one too
For me, the perfect all-rounder on the street was the Bandit 1200-1250.
It looks nearly perfect from the factory. Swap/delete signals, mirrors, and plate holder and you'll be set.
Man that is a great looking bike
Perfect front end!
USD forks,radial brake calipers!
Yes! It is the perfect motorcycle! Hell yes!!!
That’s a very good bike!
Beautiful bike man. Blue is my color. God bless.
this bike is really great,I just love it! If you take your time adjusting the clutch cable it will shift buttery smooth!
I think I may have found my future bike. Wow
Saw one of these on the way back to Savannah from Atlanta had no idea what it was but now I want one
The ease of moving it in my 'Castle' shed. The ability to put the feet on the ground. This is why I bought the Triumph T100 Black.
I don't have a m109...but I love my m90.
Sean, my perfect bike is not the M109 B.O.S.S. but it is my Yamaha Raider. w/,a slghtly smaller 210mmvs 240.Great bike for cruising. and...113 c.i.
Smckinney3 Mckinney I tried the raider but it’s not even close to the m109. It’s hard for air cooled to beat liquid cooled.
I looks so smooth. Luv that blue
I didn't know a UA-cam channel was paid less if someone skipped the adds. So I'll be watching the ads all the way through on your vids
It has always been my favorite bike !!!!
