They don’t normally go bad, depends on how hard you bash. Easy fix also

Got any videos on doing gear upgrades? On the maxx

No sorry, MAXX doesn’t need differential gear upgrades. And we do use hardened steel spurs/pinions.

@redbanditracing part number by chance? My maxx is on stock sledge tires..she does great but was curious about the upgraded parts and if any upgrade

The only reason we haven’t used bigger tires, is the big chance of busting axles because of the extra weight. Hardened spur #6443, use a Robinson Racing pinion 23T I believe it’s RRP1223

@redbanditracing I've been ripping the 3.8s on my maxx for about 3months now no issues besides destroying body on wheelies now and lose of steering but ima do a perfect pass servo

appreciate you showing me the design here I've never seen it used before… Do you think it's more reliable than a slipper clutch? A slipper clutch I've used many there tried and tested they've always been reliable. But what you think comparing this to a slipper clutch. Appreciate hearing from you thanks

The slipper clutch is a very old design, but works well. The Cush drive rarely has issues, but very reliable. If you have the option for a center differential over a slipper clutch I’d do it. Less maintenance, and tunable with fluid.
