This was extremely helpful to me! Thank you so much, I did not know how to adjust the mesh until I watched this video. I was having problems today but after watching your video we are all good! Thank you thank you!
thanks for the video, always tuning in. i’m thinking of getting the badlands 3.8 tires for this. Do you think stock pinion is fine or should go for like the 20-22t?
I'm looking to get new tires for my Maxx. Do those powerhobby belted tires rub against the front shocks? Do you know what other tires are good that will fit? Thanks
Thanks I thought the 3S arrmas were easy to work on but after changing the gears in this video and the shock oil tonight (very easy on and off) this is impressing me.
26t pinion isnt on traxxas site under accessories for the maxx. However I do see it on the site under traxxas reccomend get setup. Need help finding a 26t 1.0 metric 5mm
Is there anyway to install a max 6 and still have the light kit still work? I'm asking because the light kit gets plugged into the traxxas esc. If so Please make a video! Thank you!
I have 3.8 trenchers, steel cvd axle shaft, widemaxx kit 17mm spline hubs, and aluminum parts for the traxxas what gearing should I use for the spur and the pinion gear ? Thanks in advance
I have the same setup and I still haven't found any real answers. Gearing for that and if a stronger servo would be needed was my question. I suppose if something gives out with that setup then you know which parts to upgrade lol.
I just changed the gears in my maxx, you have to take the little pinion cover off to get the spur cover off because the spur cover has a hole the pinion cover bolts to.
yeh in the manual it says remove four screws (plus that horizontal one) to remove the spur cover, but I can't see how you could easily remove it with out removing the other two! Glad it's not just me thinking that
@@pm-s3654 no I don't have a link for the pinion, I just get them at the hobby shop, they're not traxxas gears, they're just the ones they have on the shelf.
They are Powerhobby Raptor belter tires. I have them on my Maxx...love them. They were originally made for the ERevo but they will fit the Maxx. I upgraded to 17mm wheel hubs. They fit great. I got a question for you. I have a Maxx and got the powerhobby raptor belted tires. When you turn, do the tires rub your shocks in the front? If they do is there a way to fix it?
yeah they said it was normal and to check it every season 4-6 mmonths only my diff is leaking but they said its normal man these things need love after the fun

Glad it helped!
Good info sir, and timely. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your very detailed video that answered my question.
Great stuff. TY for sharing. Look forward to seeing how it performs. 👍🏿
Will be adding the Pro Line HP Trenchers will I need to gear down and what would be the best setup. Don't won't to lose to much top end.
What gearing would you use for the jconcept renegade tires that are 6.3 inches, I'm fairly new to this...on Maxx v2
Just got the truck and that helped me out thanks man
Glad to hear it!
This is amazing, the old design was sooooo aggravating to mesh
Those wheels look so good on there
thanks for the video, always tuning in. i’m thinking of getting the badlands 3.8 tires for this. Do you think stock pinion is fine or should go for like the 20-22t?
I’d stick with stock or even drop down a tooth as they weigh and grip more hence more load
Heat issues with a pinion that size?
Extremely helpful video

This is so easy to work on,😃 i my glad that i brought a maxx 4s myself, I think this is worth the $100 something more then the other 4s trucky.👍
Thanks I thought the 3S arrmas were easy to work on but after changing the gears in this video and the shock oil tonight (very easy on and off) this is impressing me.
Driftomaniacs very easy to work on. I put 70 weight oil in all my shocks. It’s perfect. Stock gearing is great for my terrain

Great looking tires!
great video and info
Mate you got a link for where I can get the 26/46 spur and pinions gears from ? Good Vid!
Thought I was crazy. Everything else is in the description but the gears??
And traxxas sells a 46 tooth spur
Is there anyway to install a max 6 and still have the light kit still work? I'm asking because the light kit gets plugged into the traxxas esc. If so Please make a video! Thank you!
Mac you'll need to splice in a lead for the lights across the esc or battery that's what I had to do on my TRX6
Link to the tires and wheels you've got? Those are awesome looking
Great video very informative 👊🏾✌🏽

Hey gents, i have the same setup with the exception of wheels. Using the 3.8 badlands (non belted), running steel gears 50t spur/22t pinion
No issues
Quick question, what tooth is the optional pinion that comes with the car in the plastic sleeve?
Do we need to grease the pinion and other metal geers here?
Thank you!

Why is one of the Screws hitting the spur gear on the side screw on blue motor mount.... need help pls
What tires are you using?
Got a link to 26/46?
Stock motor fan?
Do you think you can tell me where you got the pinion gear thx Great video just subscribed😁
Traxxas!
@@DriftomaniacsRC thx 😁
Hi what would u recommend
Arrma notorious 6s v5 or traxas max cheers
Tricky one but I'd go for the Maxx, I've owned a notorious 6s but prefer the maxx. next arrma for me is Typhon V5
@@DriftomaniacsRC yeah i was swaying to the traxas as i have a arrma big rock v3 so wanted something different
What are the part numbers for these?
What size is the stock spur gear?
50t spur & 24t pinion
I want to order the 46 spur hear and 26 pinion. Can you house me to the right product number so I can buy right stuff please
If you look in the manual, paper one or the online one on traxxas website the part numbers are listed there, that's where I'd have to look to tell you
6447x spur but don't know 26 of top my hesf
The spur gear 46 you use is metal or plastic
stock on I think is plastic
@@DriftomaniacsRC so how the speed on 26/46
I've ran about 7 pack threw my maxx I took the cover of an found grease all inside there did anybody else find that in there?
yeah they said it was normal and to check it every season 4-6 mmonths only my diff is leaking but they said its normal man these things need love after the fun
Amazing!!!
Is the Maxx just a new Emaxx?
never had an emaxx!
No, its actually a smaller x-Maxx
Really shouldn’t be working on that with battery in and plugged in.
26/46 =60mph not 65+
?
WTF What is this for Tires ??
???? It's a video on how to change the gears!
