red lil I’m looking to pick this headunit up myself but there are so many options on the website by the time I end up at the cart I’m over $700. I have an ‘01 540i with nav and DSP so I know I have to select some options. How much did yours come out to?
@@Minerva___ sorry for the late reply, mine came out around 700$ as well. I included a wireless dongle, reverse camera, DSP cable and canbus unit. I finished my installation from the help of this video and absolutely love it. Made our e39 modernized.
Hello, I have a question: what happens with the rear unit that was originally the "brain" for the satnav? Also, can you throw away the DVD changer? I was considering Avin as a way to lose some weight on my e46 M3 which I'm building into a "clubsport" spec. I have the factory satnav, so that's why particularly your video with running the wires along the car I found very useful. But still it's not clear what happens with the wires at the rear of the car.
I have one question, My Avin 4 is working only when the key is on ACC or engine started, however my original unit MID was working even with the key in my pocket, I pressed the power/volume button and it worked. It went into sleep mode after 20min. It shuts off if cycle the key or press again power button. Is it possible to make Avin work like that?

Thanks for making the video. I have installed Eonon GA9449 on E39 M5 2001 model with DSP and most of the time I get no sound. Everything else seems to function. I guess my DSP AMP doesn't always turned on. Any idea?
The dsp system needs an adapter, the Eonon doesn't plug and play. They supposedly have a part that you can order that you wire through from the unit to the rear of the car, but I've heard that it might not even work.
If you set up the unit correctly and register ibus there’s an option on the bottom left that says “DSP” and if you tap it, it will usually stop that whining/feedback. There’s definitely a teeny bit of feedback but it’s so quiet you can’t really hear it when the engine is running
@@m3blackshadow yeah I have it all setup through the ibus app and have coded the DSP to alter timeout and run mode. But that DSP button just seems to send the start signal again

Yes there is. Not sure if it works for android auto as I’m not too familiar, but I do know you need an adapter for car play. The usb charges SUPER slow though. I actually installed a wireless charger in the center tray under the cup holders
Getting my 530i in a few days with the original HU. This is so helpful as I do not want to sidestep DSP.

Did you get any issues with alternator whine coming through the speakers as rpm increases when you installed this? Mine is doing this

No double din will not fit
