As Pride Month 2020 continues, we spoke to Chief Kristin Beck, to understand the impact of the President Donald Trump ban on transgender recruits in the US Army.
The President Trump ban on transgender soldiers is among many injustices levied by Donald J.Trump against the transgender and LGBTQ communities, and with trans rights at the forefront of the LGBTQ movement, these trans soldiers who have taken part in the TransMilitary documentary are hurt and confused by the arbitrary and senseless ban on transgender people who want to serve their country. As a 20-year veteran of the Navy SEALs and a transgender Navy SEAL who was part of Seal Team 6, Kristin Scott is living proof that trans soldier, sailors and airmen can serve this country bravely.

And there was plenty of scrutiny for Obama when he was in office, that's the very reason for example Obama put in place a system to record how many drones strikes were taking place and how many civilians might have been casualties of the strike. That policy was a direct result of the criticism Obama got, particularly from the media (not just Fox). BTW, that's policy Trump was quick to dissemble when he took office. So now we dont really know for sure whats going on with drone strikes unless we can get contacts on the ground.

He's done more to worsen the US, diminish our system of justice, worsen relation with other countries, worsen diplomatic relations, harmed and endangered americans due to his exotic choices, tweeted far more, golfed far more than any president, waisted far more tax payer money, has lost more american lives in the span of 5 months or so, worsen trade, worsen the economy, worsen the political state of the nation and unveiled the racist underbelly of the US.
That doesn't make anysense because he left the bunker and then walked to a church and liberals called him a tyrant after that.

It doesn’t make sense for Trans ppl to serve in military period. This guy didn’t get trans surgery till after he retired. To get the surgery while in military causes a strain on already overburdened mil healthcare, and is a logistical problem for people who get the surgery causing them to not be operational for years meaning that other ppl have to carry that weight because trans ppl are non-deployable for up to 3 years

Meaning regardless of your job you still have the chance of being deployed around the world. I doubt any transgenders on hormones would ever be deployed because of the logistical issues that come with supplying any given number of people with medication in places around the world with the worst conditions. DOD already has to justify their budget, I doubt they could get many people on board to spend more money to supply trans with the things they need to live and function. Not to mention the health and mental problems that come with trying to flip flop your bodys physiology

Just for the record, being trans really has nothing to do with the ban. Soldiers aren’t allowed to serve in battle if they’re taking a regular medication. Trans people take hormones. Hence the ban. It’s really that simple. The same rule applies to everyone. Media just insists on not telling us the truth.

Agreed with all that but the ban actually isn’t directly due to being transgendered. For obvious reasons, people aren’t eligible to serve in the battlefield if they take daily medications. Trans people take hormones and hormone blockers. This rule exists for the same reason that people with flat feet aren’t able to serve in battle. If a trans person is deployed and unable to return to base for their medication then they’re putting the mission and everyone else at risk. It’s really that simple.

As a veteran myself I know that people that require medication everyday can't always serve. That's the reason why I was medically retired. I think if you want it for go hormone treatment while you serve and you don't want to have surgery then you can be an asset. However if someone is looking for transgender surgery there's a lot of recovery time with that so what good would it be? Getting a paycheck and doing nothing to earn it?
Couldn't they join the reserves or something while going through treatments and then transfer or whatever after recovering or is that not allowed? Like idk i haven't looked into being a transgender soldier but I do wanna join the army lol
