Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this UA-cam channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
I never knew Istanbul looked like this! What a beautiful city to visit.
Isn't it breathtaking?!
@@KaraandNate it is called *DÖNER* not shawarma. Turkey it is not an Arab country.
Stefano Giordanengo You are right. It is called shawarma only in Arabic countries. But guess what! It is because they cannot pronounce Çevirme which is a Turkish word that has a similar meaning with Döner. I guess a Turkish man wanted to have his own influence on the name when it was introduced to the Arabic culture for the first time :)
The Budgeting Wife Turkish city
I live in Istanbul, Believe me, You can do lot of things in Istanbul. I'm from Turkey. Istanbul is too cheap for tourists. For example, You can see all İstanbul for 50$. 5 stars otels nearly 60-70$. You need come İstanbul.
Nothing beats Istanbul when it comes to elegance and tourism 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
How can I get you to buy something you don't need. Best line ever.
If the Steam Sale was a person it would be this turkish salesman.
He was so honest. It's the kind of line that makes me want to buy something for his joke/honesty.
I would have definitely bought something from him for the joke😊
Now THIS is a video that makes me want to go to Istanbul!
GerryAirways yeah exactly! After Asia I think we have to go there 😊
Do it!!!
Going In December. It will be my 4th time .
+Da el December is kind of very wetty month to go...
Thanks Yusuf..we are looking forward it
I visited the blue mosque last year and the man doing the iden (prayer) invited me to sit down and to do the prayer with him. Istanbul is such a cool city!
I lived in Istanbul for 6 years. One of my favourite cities! Don't forget to try Kumpir. Thanks guys for the vlog!
Adelia Hayrettin I am interested in travelling there, but I would like to know if you know any places to avoid. Like where shouldnt people go?
@@MCernoble no any place like this.you r allow to visit each place.n always welcome der.
Adelia Hayrettin Thank you for your good comment.
i have been living in istanbul for 20 years. i agree with you istanbul is a really great city. I guess you got married turkish man. Because your surname is turkish surname.
@@AhmetMorgan Aynen oyle, haklisin 😊
@@adeliahayrettin1979 virgülde kullandığınıza göre Türkçeyi baya ögrenmişsiniz. 😀 Mutlu evlilikler diliyorum iyi akşamlar
Turkey is such a beautiful country. Greetings from Greece !
A friend of mine LOVES Turkey, she just came back about a week ago and she's been there about a million times. Can't wait to visit myself.
I had a connecting flight to Italy cancelled and therefore ended up with a 3 day layover in Istanbul. I was so happy that happened as Istanbul quickly turned into my favorite city! I want to go back now!
Kara you are right Istanbul is so cool and it is one of my favorite cities in the world.
VLOG "ISTANBUL" THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TIME IN TURKEY
ua-cam.com/video/QYmdfEzUwLQ/v-deo.html
I loved Istanbul, the smells in the spice market were amazing 😀
When I was in Istanbul, the shop owners would say, “Come, I have the nicest fake Rolexes in all of Turkey”.
The hospitality was incredible. We were always welcomed with hot apple tea.
I hope you guys liked Istanbul ☀️ After watching the video, I miss Istanbul 🙇🏻♂️
This is bringing back such great memories for me. Till this day Turkey remains my favourite country I've ever visited! Love the people, the culture and of course the food!! You guys were so cute with the Starbucks HAHA
I think it's better than Paris
Istanbul has better food for shure
Exactly true 👍
of course it is. You gotta come and visit İstanbul the shortest time :)
Istanbul is different
Willy kotch yasss
I lived in Turkey for four years and it makes me so happy to see y'all enjoying the beautiful country!!
I appreciate how respectful they are of the different cultures and places they visit. If you notice, Kara will always wear modestly whenever she is in these middle eastern / islamic nations. Or would have long pants on in religious places.
I found your channel a few months ago and have been binge watching from the beginning. I was so excited to watch the Turkey series because my dad loved being stationed there when he was in the Army. It's on my bucket list for sure.
Hi, Im Betul I'm from Turkey but I live in San Francisco (born and raised here), I can't express how much you guess are embracing turkey right now. I started tearing up seeing the city and love that you guys loved it.
That was definately not pork :D its called kokoreç, generally made of lamb intestines. It tastes much better than it sounds so give it a go! Also some other food options to try include Çiğ köfte, lahmacun, börek, mantı, tantuni, sarma, dolma, Maraş dondurması (sometimes your icecream comes with a show) and most importantly, künefe! Enjoy Turkey, I lived there for 10 years a fell completely in love with it. If you have time try heading futher out east, you get a much more real experience, without all of the turists :) Keep up the good work, love watching your videos
Yeah, there are so many tasty dishes in Turkey, we love Menemen, Cigkofte, Gozleme...mmm hungry now! We hitchhiked down and around Turkey earlier this year and had a great time! People are so friendly! The best thing we tried though, was Adana Kebab!!!!!!!OHhh soo good!
Love to hear Azan in Istanbul. Wish to have a chance to visit there (Insha Allah)
Istambul is fascinating! There is nothing like it! Sulayman mosque is amazing and the view from there is the best! Check it out.
I’m not sure what I love more about your videos: the market visits, the food experiences, or the sweet way you treat each other. Thanks for taking me along on your adventures.
Amazing start to Istanbul. I’ve only been there once, for a day, but really want to go back for a longer visit.
So far, Istanbul is amazing. It's such a beautiful city. I love cities that are on the water, and how cool is it that Asia is right over the bridge? Also, I love that Bazaar! The mountains of colorful spices is always such a sight to behold. And I love how the guy at 6:44 looked like he was asking for a hug. 😂😂😂
You could visit Galata Tower, Leander's Tower, Suleymaniye Mosque and so much more but i hope you liked it anyway. Istanbul is such a magical city and if you spend just a couple days in that atmosphere there's no way to fall in love with it.
The two of you like you’re having a lot of fun. The two of you are so sweet together and Kara cracks me up.
Istanbul...The most beatiful city in the world❤I love my country😍🇹🇷
no

I love the added editing features like the google definitions and the prices of food!! Amazing work Kara 😊
Istanbul is one of my top three cities. I wish I had known you were there, there is a great restaurant called Hacci Abdulla up near Taccim Square. In the spice market there is a fantastic wholesale shop that is a must see.
Next three?
Spice bazaar wholesale shop name ?
Abdullah hacci restuarant name ?
Plx give details
The restaurant is www.haciabdullah.com.tr/
I have to find the spice shop. It is not in the spice market, it is outside in the restaurant supply section to the right after you come across the Galatea bridge.
That bazaar was definitely grand! Loved the architecture! Thanks for sharing!
Best way to start a Saturday morning, with another Kara and Nate video. I bet so excited when I see these video notifications. Love you two!! 😁😁😁🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I love this new slow-mo video with the regular-mo(?) sound that you guys are doing now!
As usual, nice job.....I just really enjoy the honesty and non-hype of your vlogs....It is what keeps me waiting for more, that and trying to choose places for my summer vacation....Thank you
And this vlog just became my favorite! Brings back memories of when I visited Istanbul 7 years ago.

Yes! The Grand Bazaar is amazing. Make sure you enjoy the spice market, I picked up some bulk tea there that was fantastic! You're making me want to go back!

I totally agree with Kara and why I love Istanbul too. Cannot wait to visit again!
Can i ask why ?
In love with Istanbul. Just an absolutely great place! Connects two continents, with great monuments!
Nate got some new glasses! I love the way you do your videos! You guys are such a dynamic duo!! Keep the videos coming!
Great vlogs guys!!! We can't wait to get to Istanbul!!! Great video and keep on inspiring
Kara you're so adorable thanks for coming guys!
Looked like an awesome day walking around the city! My fav thing to do! 👍
Thanks for the videos in Istanbul. Haven’t been there for 9 years and I miss my city 💙
Amazing footage and editing guys! Really made us hungry and want to visit Istanbul!
Kara : "this guy was shaving off pork ".....impossible in Istanbul. They never eat pork.
I agree is it bad that I was put off by her saying that meat spinning thing?
@@chrissygravitt9196 she put the name of it in edit when she said it the first time. They couldn't possibly remember every name of every "thing" and food in all the places they are in and going to. They are just real, on the fly. It might take the spontaneity out of who they are if they had to stop and Google search everything they said. Ya know? I love how the last few videos had a correction in the edits though.
you're right...its actually lamb and goat intestines wrapped around offal..."kokoreç"
I was finding this comment
I agree totally, unless you are in a muslim country...never ever any pork. By the way I love the Kara and Nate videos ! They are really the best travel videos around and they both seem such great people too !!!
I love the shop owner at the end! He's so cute.
So many memories...you're making me cry

Another great video...I saw Kara had her backpack facing the front..I don't blame you.
We love Istanbul! We were there earlier this year and actually you guys went to all of the same places as us basically 😀 Great filming and editing as always! The shawarma meat looked pretty fatty though!

I watch kara and Nates videos to admire and crave all the amazing food they eat when they travel AHA
My favorite place we visited in Istanbul was the underground cistern. I mean, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar.....it was all wonderful, but the cistern was crazy amazing
i was just waiting for this vlog i am obsessed with your videos and editing skills!!!
Well the good is that I finally got through all the videos from the beginning . . . The bad news is that I am finished binging all the videos from the beginning!! What am I going to do now? I guess wait like everybody else for new uploads! Loved every bit of it, from the awesome SE Asia locations and street food vids, to the ultra cush Maldives.
uh I’m from turkey, istanbul and you looked for the best locations to visit. Great Video!
Istanbul reminds me of San Francisco with all of the hills, close proximity to a big body of water and diverse cultures

I LOVE TURKEY!!! One day y'all need to go back and see more of the country. I lived in Antalya and it is just a beautiful place. Of course, I know y'all didn't have much time. Pammukale, Cappadocia, and Efes are great places to visit. Seriously though, go back and visit more. You won't be disappointed.
I was in Istanbul in January, really want to see it during the summer. gotta make it back.

So much food! 😍 that mosque is gorgeous, really cool how you were able to go this time! “how can I help you spend your money” what a sales pitch haha
İstanbul is the most beautiful city of the world. thank you Kare and Nate.
Wow, Istanbul looks incredible! I’m about to make the leap to traveling full-time (teaching online and house-sitting) and y’all are my inspiration!
Awesome! Congrats! 👏🏻✈️
How is teaching online going? I was non renewed in my district after 20 years. Was thinking about doing that.
I'm pretty sure the Grand Bazaar would be the top of my list of things to see in Turkey! Lol at "we were going to get traditional Turkish coffee...but they're so tiny" as you held up Starbucks.
Love your videos! I used to be a very picky eater but now I want to try everything because of you guys!! Lol Be safe out there! Love you guys 💖💖 please come to Canada! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
