This video gave me a lot to think about... This topic has been on my mind lately. As a single mom I do have experience living on my own and with someone else but because the relationship was so toxic I've grown to quite like being on my own and being independent. That being said I'm waiting on God for the husband he has for me and know there will be a learning curve with that transition. It's encouraging to remember that I don't have to have it all together. I'm currently working on getting a degree and had to move back in with my parents. Part of me has felt like I need to be done my degree (2.5 more years) and be on my own, maybe even purchased a house before I should meet my husband. Now I'm thinking maybe that's because as a single mom I already feel like I'll be a burden. I have to keep countering the enemy telling me this with the idea that God will make me and my son a blessing to my future husband. I like the idea of creating a life together instead of creating a life and then bringing him into it. Besides, it's kind of prideful to think that the life I create on my own would be just what we need and all I need to do is add my husband. Who's to say that what I'm creating is better than what he's creating or what we can create together?
I love this! I am grateful because this makes me want to Enjoy my singleness with God even more!! Love this season. When the time comes I know God will help us. As it is written in Proverbs 18:22”He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD” We are Christ bride. We need to ask in our singleness for God to continuously (single & when married) prepare us to become the wife for that godly man God will chose for us. Thank you for giving us your perspective. It’s a treat to see a glimpse of the changes we may not acknowledge now. It’s something I consider very dear. My space and definitely my independence. However I believe when God brings along the person that is meant to be for us, He will lead us both and prepare our hearts and minds for that change. Gracias Sarah! 🙏🏽

Excellent video. My daughter in law put her needs & career before her marriage to my son. I love them both & they love Christ. Unfortunately they just divorced & it's tragic. I'm believing they will reconcile. Yes..our lives are not our own. Pray for me as I'm hoping to reconcile with my exfiance in God's timing. Pray that he takes his walk with the Lord seriously. He wasn't so I had no choice but to not marry him. I still love him though and it's been painful. Heart wrenching but I'm growing, bearing lots of fruit. Alot!!!
Great video Sarah! I find God uses spouse and parental relationships as an opportunity to mold us as better Christians. These relationships often lead to bearing more spiritual fruit such as patience, self control, and gentleness. Unfortunately now adays we don’t see it this way and see these relationships as things that will take away.

thanks so much for sharing this! I'm not yet married but I did experience some sense of 'loss' when I entered a relationship...that independence is a heck of thing. But I am also have been thinking a lot about marriage and just trying to prepare mentally for when that time comes. I have been struggling with this issue for quite some time and as my wedding is fast approaching, I feel like it’s getting more and more intense. I struggle with losing my independence after marriage and I also plan to like live just the two of us first before taking in consideration about having a baby but you are right. I shouldn’t allow my selfish thoughts and plans over rule our upcoming marriage and this video reminded me that God is in control and I should look at marriage as something exciting for I believe that God has something better prepared for us through this union. I just feel relieved that what am feeling is just normal and that I shouldn’t be ashamed that am feeling this way. Ahahahhahaha. Anyway, I praise God for speaking through you and this platform. This morning my mother send me a scripture that backs this up so much, it came from Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I know Gods love for me but somehow don’t know how to love myself anymore. I used to love myself a lot when I was of the world and after everything was pruned, nothing else validated me other than God.
