I've always said anything with a turbo is worth mapping. Even if it's not a performance car you get more low end torque for more effortless driving and better mpg
Happy to comment and say i recently picked up a 435d. High spec and found its had a remap as the sports dials go up to 400hp not 320hp. Missile of a car
@@BMWFAMuk I started a new job and have to drive 30 mile trips. I remember you saying you do 30 mile commutes too. Thought I'd treat myself in getting a automatic diesel car. Mercedes primarily have their 2.2 diesels which arent as fast, audi do have their 3 litre biTDI diesels though with bmw they have the 35d N57 engines which are faster and more economical than the audi equivalent which pushed me to it. Like the sporty look of the 4 series too. Ended up getting this 435d with high spec including the m sport pro pack, hud, red interior and reversing camera and 360 camera. Has the m4 cs wheels so basically has more than what I wanted. Surprised too to find its had a gearbox and engine map. This thing can beat a lot of cars on the road and it's a diesel and hopefully return 50mpg. My VW Up I've been using returned 48 to 52mpg and that's 5x less powerful.
@ sounds like you got a great car and yes I’d defo have the the bmw over the merc or Audi ..with the x drive they are mega off the line ..even my 330d with 310 could keep up with a lot but the 35d is next level ..sounds like you have a winner there mate happy motoring 👍
what about insurance i had acosworth in 96 green injectors chipped when i crashed the first thing they did was tell me the car had greens a bigger turbo and collins chip not insured
I'd be careful with those ebikes if it's what I'm thinking. Police are cracking down on them. Sadly scummy people especially phone thieves are using them which is probably why
just got an e92 2012 330d, only 19 so feels fast as fuck but would you advise getting it mapped and would the gains be similar to your f30 gains? its got 86k miles, only thing im thinking is will it wear down parts quicker or is that just a myth
Hi mate that’s a rapid car for 19 ..depending what power is on yours as yours is a lci think you will push close to 300bhp not sure if the later e92 used the n57 …and no not off a stage one tune we have never had a problem with parts ..be fine mate
All depends on how you drive the car, brakes and suspension parts may wear faster if you constantly hoon around as will tyres but generally the engines will wear no faster. Transmission parts may wear slightly faster, but tolerance is built into many as often some auto boxes are shared from more powerful variants of the same car. Zf transmissions can generally take more than standard torque, just do so research beforehand. But obviously if you drive like you stole it, it going to wear out faster.
