  • Here is my honest, 1-year review of the Shimano Talica 20 II lever drag reel. This is an awesome reel that I have used regularly for the last year. Have a look at the breakdown in the video and stick around till the end for the final verdict! I paired the reel with rods from Jigstar as well as Van Staal to tackle bottom fishing and jigging. I love my talica reels. I have 2 talica 16 2 speed and 12 2 speed. They are best reels so smooth.

I think you might find that Talicas have Aluminium Bodies ( not steel) and the gears are made from Brass.
Very popular and highly thought of reels though.

Spot on. If these reels were made of steel it would double the weight and they would heavily corrode no matter what.

Hi dear friend, amazing review! I like your channel and subscribe ! What type of line class (lbs) and rod/jigs are you using ?

Hi! I usually run 50lb berkley black velvet as backing, very thin braid for the breaking strain. Leader depends on the fish that are around. Yellow tail use 100lb leader, smaller bottom fish 40lb leader max. The jig size depends on the depth and current. I have caught small fish on massive jigs and big fish on small jigs, so the deeper you fish, the larger the jig to get down faster. In general I use jigs ranging from 80g to 300g. The rods are also paired to the breaking strain of the line and size of the jig. I use rods from PE 2 - PE 5.

The twisted sista range includes a PE 2-5, 3-6 and 4-8. I personally use the PE 2-5.

The PE rating depends on the weight class on the jig as well as the line rating.
      Jigstar Twisted Sista 50B L (Length, 5'0", Line PE 2-5, Lure 100-300g)
      Jigstar Twisted Sista 50BM L (Length, 5'0", Line PE 3-6, Lure 150-400g)
      Jigstar Twisted Sista 50BM H (Length, 5'0", Line PE 4-8, Lure 200-500g)
