    HOW TO ATTACH YOUR LEADER TO A FAST AND SLOW JIG AND WHY
    In this video, I discuss where to tie your leader and why you tie it there, the difference between how you attach your leader for slow and fast jigs. I discuss key points on components and sizing which are often not mentioned, let alone discussed. We answer a lot of the Whys in this video.
    Although this topic is quite basic, I was surprised at why this is also kind of under explained. This is honestly one of those topics I saw as very basic and never really thought of discussing this until I have been asked more than a dozen times.

    Happy that I now know how to tie my jig properly. Sad that I have tied it all wrong these past few years :(

    You are the man Kit! All your videos have such good nuggets. I watch your stuff from 4 years ago and it is all relevant. Sometimes i watch the same video a few times just catch those nuggets. Here in the US we have never been thought properly and unfortunately we are missing key basic fundamental knowledge. You are God sent for us confused souls. Thanks man.

      Japanese prototypes which are tested heavily for at least a year or so before moving on to the next iteration are mostly just colored gray...and they catch fish.

    Ha! Your previous video was good, Kit, but this one was hilarious! Defo give the dog a treat for helping you out so much!
    Btw, I've been using those SOM and Decoy Ocean Snaps / Front Rings since you did your video on them, and I'm loving them! Swapping out jigs is so easy. I've even added them as terminal tackle on my trolling lures and life is so much easier. The longer I go without putting a hook through my finger, the more I'm getting confidence in them.

    Do you have any places in Dubai or in the UAE in general where you'd recommend fishing?
    Been to the usual spots but majority of the time they are extremely crowded with other anglers! Thanks a ton Kit!

      anywhere that involves a boat makes fishing 10X better. otherwise, it is a matter of access.

    There is no such thing as an irrelevant topic when dealing with people who are optimizing their chances of success. Every small action you take to maximize your chances of success is relevant. Therefore, there will be people, even those who are already knowledgeable about the topic, willing to consider others' perspectives.

    We usually use a swivel with a split ring and connect the jig to the split ring

    • @TheFishingKit
      @TheFishingKit  2 місяці тому

      That's normal, but like I said earlier, if your jigs move properly, you don't need a swivel. Swivels are also more useful on slow jigs than they are on fast jigs.

  • @KristianSloth
    @KristianSloth 3 місяці тому

    I assume the solid ring with the assist hooks should be "on the top side" of the jig, when you use a solid ring (or swivel) for your leader? I'm sure you mentioned this in one of your other videos but I do not have the skills to find it again ;)

    • @TheFishingKit

      Properly made jigs wobble...not spin. If they don't spin....you don't need a swivel.

    Is it true that if you’re using a spinning reel for jigging, a swivel is a must need since the line rotates constantly when reeling the line..
    Please notice me senpai

    • @TheFishingKit
      @TheFishingKit  2 місяці тому +1

      if your jigs are not balanced, no matter what rod and reel you use - it will spin. this is why japanese jigs are expensive...coz the metal they use as well as how the jigs are made ensures they don't bend easily...that's above and beyond the finishing. Now...if you are using jigs that spin, then a swivel might help, but not by a lot. best way is to straighten the jig until you see it swimming properly. Then you can get rid of the swivel.
