Primary differences are the Infinity Drive with increased drag pressure and lighter rotation, lower gear ratio in low gear and new handle on 25 and larger handle on the 20.
Was wondering if you thought the 16 or 20 was better for big bluefin out of San Diego up to over 200lbs. I like the lighter reel with the 16 and can fill with 100lb Maxcuatro to increase line capacity. This would allow me to use the reel more often for other applications. However most in San Diego would say the 16 is too light for big fish with the higher low gear ratio. What do you think?
Hey JP I have a question as I want to purchase a Shimano Twin Power 6000. I have noticed that there are 3 models PG HG and XG but seems no one has the XG version. Is it a real reel? Where can I purchase to know I am getting a legit XG? Thanks,
Only the HG model is available in North America if you’re referring to the TwinPower SW6000. If you buy overseas to get the XG model, service may not be available as parts are often different in the differing models available domestically. Each country or continent picks the gear ratios that play out best for their fisheries and the techniques used by the anglers. For North America it was the HG models
The primary reason I will never by another Shimano Talica is because the clear coat finish on these reels suck! Scratch way too easily, just a slight contact by putting the rod in the rail racks or another careless angler with cheap crap can turn your expensive reel into a real 2nd hand item that looks abused. I own the Tac 8ii, 12ii & 25ii and all have covers. Don’t believe me? Look at the used Talica’s for sale online and compare with other comparable reel manufacturers product under simalar use. Shimano you can do better!
Awesome thank you for this information, great presentation.
Saya dulu karyawan shimano. Habis kerja kontrak urusi asuransi tenaga kerja ga dapat. Ganti dong sekarang dg sepeda yg bagus. Saya suka bersepeda.🙏🙏
Patiently waiting for the SLX XT info 😊
Maybe Thursday ?
Still unclear as to the primary differences between 2023 and 2024 models. Shimano site does not depict any differences. What am I missing?

Thanks. Highly interested in this unit and appreciate your review.
There was no 2023 Model in size 20 and 25. The Talica 12 and 16 was introduced in 2023. These are new size additions to the updated lineup
Hey JP, do you know when the big stores like bass pro and west marine will get stock of these reels?
I would imagine after September but I am not certain
Thank you

The 16 is definitely capable but the 20 is obviously a little beefier. 25 has the best handle for putting the screws to them
Can the handles be interchanged on the 20?
And can the power handle be fit on the 16 also?
@@nancyn3863 Not sure about that... it would be a great upgrade for the 16 and 20 for sure though!
Shimano Talica vs Penn international visx ?
Talica clear coat finish sucks!
Does the Talica available for leftie ?
Only righty on this one.
@@JPDeRoseOutdoors thank you
Any idea if and when the new 10 size will be released?
Haven’t seen or heard anything about it.

@@JPDeRoseOutdoors I assume there is not a huge difference in speed and may get a little more torque out of the HG correct?
@@BC-gy1wp correct, typically the difference will be 41" per handle turn on the HG and XG should be around 43 or 44 so not a major difference
Thank you so much JP for being such a Professor for Shimano and all you do for us.
Shimano talica 25 can’t I do 130 braid
of course you can, should hold around 500 yds depending on the braid you use and it's diameter.
