0:53 spoken from the heart of a true fisherman…..”It’s gonna be a GREAT day!”❤
Headed up there next weekend. Newbie fisher in a kayak. I’ll be lucky to catch a single fish. Thanks for a great vid.
Very cool, i lead line for browns from my row boat in ny reservoirs..sutton spoons mostly, i do ok.... lotta work rowing around. time to get the motor boat in and give that a try.
Back before we got the 360 flasher we used alot of those small dodgers for salmon with 4" squid for salmon great lakes. We would bend the dodgers in S shape so we could troll them faster. 6' leaders off the dipsy diver was important as well
Great video. Trolling gulp is interesting, going to give it a try next time. Tight lines!
Sweet day catching man!
Thanks for the video. I was very interested. It is also great that you tell us what baits you are fishing for. I will watch other videos. I would also be interested to hear what fishing rods you use and what line or cord?
Do you have a link to the dodgers you like/use? I didn’t know there were dodgers you could troll at 2mph without them doing 360s
ok what do mean 2 color or one & half is that the whole color in the water or what? also what pound lead core and how far down do each color run?
I count the amount of line touching the water, so if the end of the 2nd color of lead core is behind the boat touching the water that's 2 colors out. If the end of the 2nd color is barely off the spool that's roughly 1.5 colors out.
I count on about 5 feet down per color out going 2mph. Maybe 6' per color going 1.5 and 3 or 4 feet down per color going 2.5 or faster. It depends on what you're trolling, as that can effect how far down also, but those #'s are trolling something light like a streamer fly or small spoon with no dodger.
Curious what hook you're using for the gulp minnow? Would like to give this a try. Thanks!
#4 3xl streamer hook
Would you mind telling me what time of year you went fishing? What month? I live in Manchester, and it seems like a pretty good please to go to.
I think it was June.
How are you rigging up your gulps?
#4 3xl streamer hook. Down the middle, hook coming out top pretty far back. Eye buried a bit inside the gulp so it doesn't want to slide off.
What boat is that? Looks perfect for the lakes around me and I'm in the market for one!
Griff craft. Made in Starke FL. Bought it from Eagle View in Cape Coral
What's length of the leader you have on the lead core? Good video.
It varies on what I'm trolling, but I run between 20 to 50' of 10lb test fluoro to a bead (so can't reel thru eye of rod) then a good trolling swivel and snap, and I pre-make 48 inch leaders of 6lb test fluoro to attach to that with a loop knot on one end and a very small VMC snap for quick lure changes on the other end.
What was your trolling speed . Video made it look a bit fast but it was definitely working for you !
Roughly 1.8 to 2.2 mph
What a great video! What is the model number on those ugly stick fishing rods?
Thanks. Can't read the model numbers. Too many fishing trips and their worn off. :P
What rod and reel are you using for leadcore
I like a small Penn line counter reel for lead core. Around $60

For a rod I like the Eagle Claw Starfire trolling rod. Around $45

What rod , reel and lead core did you use
Listed down in video description.
@@MillerOutdoors1 I don’t see it, all it’s says is the lures
@benandmasonsworld4734 Will have a look after get off the water tonight.
From memory, ugly stik rod, small Penn line counter reel, 15 or 20 lb leadcore, 5 or 6 ft of 14lb fluoro to trolling swivel, then 15 to 25 ft of 8lb fluoro to dodger, and 15 inches or so of 8 lb fluoro to 3xl #4 streamer hook
What brand of boat is that? Great video?
Griff Craft
Designed to float and run real shallow, for flats fishing down south, where I use it most.
