I don't think Johnny even cares if he wins the case or not. I think he feels that he has nothing left to lose. This is his opportunity to get the truth out there, to rehabilitate his reputation and to show the world who Amber really is. I think he is winning in the court of public opinion.
I firmly believe THIS. I was of the same mind when I wrote my book. I just wanted the truth out there somewhere, and now I can breathe again. don't care if it sells, it made its way into the right hands and so its purpose was served. Johnny needed a public way to raise awareness and set the record straight about his side of the argument at the very least.
Yeah, even if he doesn't win he's won.
Part of me wonders if Johnny's moved forward with this trial because he knows his experiences will help other victims of DV, especially males because authorities are almost always going to blame them as the aggressor.
And the more this trial moves on, the more we're learning this is truly not the case.

If you look at the testimony time sequence you can see Jonny growing in confidence and being more relaxed as time goes on and the other side's attorneys just make fools out of themselves without him having to try.

Johnny doesn't care if he loses or wins this case. He already lost so much and the damage has been done. I think what he's really trying to do here is to gain back the reputation and respect he had in the world. He knows his truth and he wants the world to see it.

My favorite moment of the trial so far is Amber's lawyer objecting to his own witnesses answer to the question he had posed to him. Priceless!
I hadnt watched anything from this trial, I didnt really know anything except stuff from video titles on youtube. Then I watched this video and I found out this trial is surprisingly funny to watch.
I never really watched anything from Johnny outside his movies or Hollywood Vampires but he is apparently a comedic genius the way he trolls mr Hearsay with his reactions and comments.

The reason the lawyer asked him the same question so many times was that the lawyer was trying to get on Depp's nerves and get him to snap and act angry so the lawyer could point at the outburst and as if it is evidence that Depp has anger issues. Lawyers do this shit in court alot when the case involves domestic partnerships.
I don’t know why they’re trying to hit him so hard on his drug and alcohol use. Everyone’s favorite character of his is Jack Sparrow. Him chuckling while being questioned on his alcohol/drug abuse only makes him seem that much more like Jack.
The alcohol and drugs was his coping mechanism for the abuse he was suffering, he did the same when he was younger and his mother was abusing him and the rest of their family.
People often look down on alcohol/drug users/abusers and dismiss them as bad people, but never look deeper and wonder why that person has ended up going down that road.

If you have to be in a long drawn out court proceeding, this is the one you want. I always thought Johnny Depp was weird, but I loved his Captain Jack Sparrow, and I believe he is a victim of an evil woman. I hope he is vindicated when this is through.

I haven't followed this trial super-hard, but the clips I've seen it's hilarious how the defense has tried to rattle JD, and he just smiles and trolls back at them. He might be an alcoholic and a drug addict, but I also believe he has a case.

After watching several clips of Amber in all this, she always comes across as haughty, arrogant, or "I'm above this...I can't wait to not be bothered by this...." It sends the message that she doesn't care, we are not worth her attention. But yeah, I agree her lawyers so far have been terrible. They are not winning points just yet. Especially when her lawyers had their suitcase with the handle up, and you see her next to it. That invokes the idea, I can't wait to get out of here....also there was a clip where he is talking about losing his contract with Disney and she smiles, and quickly covered it up. She really thought that was funny.
This was hysterical! I think the mega-pint comment both amused and exasperated me the most 😂 I actually had completely missed the part about her (ahem!) throat injury, until hearing it mentioned on LegalBytes… All jokes aside, and there definitely were a lot in the cross-exam, Amber Heard’s story is absolutely riddled with inconsistencies, and it’s crazy how she even got this far. That cross-exam was rather downright appalling in my opinion, but that could maybe be due to being an empath and having experienced my own mental health struggles, and seen others go through and struggle as well. It would be awesome to get your perspective on events and both their testimonies through everything or after! Your thoughts are always so interesting and well thought out and you make such excellent observations! She is seriously messed up I’m thinking btw, from a person who knew absolutely nothing about the case until you first shared about it I think (I tend not to follow new much the last few years, and don’t usually follow celebrity stories). This is coming from someone who is not, btw, a total die-hard fan of Johnny Depp. Any ways, thanks for all you do Alex, you are awesome!

The whole situation with Johnny and Amber reminds me of "The Girl on the Train" movie. He was out of it for the most part, and she's trying to distort his memory and use this point against him.
