Court crack-up: Johnny Depp amused over tabloid stories, makes gallery laugh | LiveNOW from FOX

  • Johnny Depp became both amused and frustrated as Amber Heard's attorney went through a number of tabloid stories written about the actor before Heard's op-ed in the Washington Post, which is the basis for the lawsuit. At one point while reading the story headlines, Depp sarcastically complemented the attorney for reading the headline very well.

I think he's trying to reiterate defaming inquiries just to desperately nail in the idea that Depp is nefarious to the jury. It honestly doesn't matter if it's stricken from record or objected, so long as they hear it. Does it? The jury was present for all of those questions. Regardless of if JD answered the questions, the jury saw and heard each question, left unanswered, and all and the implication of it. You say it speaks for itself and I agree, but I think it's speaking different things to each of us. I see it as a brilliant legal strategy to plant thoughts into the jury's mind.

That being said, even if Depp's team loses this case, it is VERY, VERY clear that the general public is overwhelmingly supportive and sympathetic to Johnny Depp. The public is clearly not buying Amber Heard's attempt in playing the victim. So, when this case is over, if she wins, people will boycott her movies and probably Disney as well, for what they did to Depp. You can't underestimate the power of the court of public opinion.

I find it insulting toward the jurees to think them so dumb that they would believe blindly tabloids "tease tittles" and that wouls be enought to influence them in a serious court case. And for a lawyer to use tabloids to counter DEFFAMATION trial (guys seriously lol). Amber Heard at best have bi polar disorders or at worst is a narcissic pervert manipulator. Either need treatment and to be estrained from coming close EVER to Johnny Depp or any memeber of his relatives. Cause she clearly have an obsession against him. When money isn't your interest (wich is not her case obviously) you just brake up with the person and never want to have anything to do with it. You don't try to destroy his image or his reputation.

it is a SUPER common trick in courts to re-read yellow (also known as fictional or sci-fi) press tabloid titles to divert from the punchline that actually misleads the reason why case exists in the first place - in other words an 8-step routine and its old like a roman empire old:
      1. read fictional titles -
      2. belittle the true reason for a case -
      3. switch to pointless reason on the fly -
      4. demand to accept that is the only reason -
      5. lock plaintiff in a loop by endless speculations -
      6. enforce the pointless reason -
      7. convince the jury that plaintiff made a mistake -
      8. win the case -

Her lawyer has nothing else, he is desperate and it shows, he is trying to frustrate Johnny and make him show anger while he is on the stand so he can bring some form of doubt to the jury, in efforts to turn the case in favor of Amber... it's all her lawyer got, he know she is lying, but he is just as dead inside as she is and will not quit, he is just waiting and hoping for a slip up by Johnny or some other witness so the jury can have doubt and he can feed the doubt... I'm happy Johnny isn't allowing the lawyer rush him and keeps talking as he tries to talk over him(if he can get Johnny to just stick to the yes and no answering, with no extra comments, the chances are higher to turn the case the way her lawyer want it, if he cant keep Johnny from saying extra comments, he tries talk over in hope's the jury doesnt hear him).
