Him not being able to finish the art in 1098 was scary and it made the chapter that much more significant as it was the first time I've ever seen Oda not being able to finish
This happened before in Dressrosa, it was a chapter revolving around Rebecca and her father. I think both chapters hit Oda himself hard so he couldn't finish. Both were emotional chapters involving a father and daughter

@@sajalghosh9309I agree on the 8 rating. I would have to admit it’s my first live action in general but I haven’t heard many good things about other live action anime
@@terimichelle747There’s not too many good ones. Hopefully, after One Piece LA, that’s changing. Anime is finally being taken seriously. They’re actually trying to make good adaptations. I fully believe the reason they were bad was due to the industry not taking anime seriously. Some of it for a time might’ve been lacking the ability in effects to do the stories justice, but in recent years, it’s definitely been a choice the way I see it. There are some good adaptations though. Aside from One Piece and whatever future ones come out. The Rurouni Kenshin series of live actions were good.
I know it's not in Netflix's wheelhouse, but I hope that they never forget that the passion is the most important part of bringing One Piece to life. It's a series made by a man who only wanted to make manga for a living, and procced to make a manga for the rest of his life, he made something loved by millions, something adults grew up with, something that inspired people. If they can keep the energy they had with the live action then they will continue to find success with the series, I know it won't be easy to expand this project, but I'm sure they knew that when they decided to make a live action ONE PIECE of all things. Even if this project doesn't lead to other animes getting better live action adaptions, I really hope they continue to poor love into this franchise. One Piece is such a good series and these projects could make it even better. The idea of a version of One Piece free from time fillers, excessive recaps, and unnecessarily long reaction frame is such an exciting one. As someone who binged the series and found so many spots where a younger me would have fallen off if watching in real time, I'm sure an optimized version of the anime will bring in even more fans to the series.
I never seen the live action but the hype around it was enough for me to watch the anime I gotta say it’s definitely my favorite anime now and I’m mad i caught up

Odyssey is great! Of COURSE you don't like it if you're not into turn-based RPGs. I've never felt like a video game tie-ins really do an anime proper justice but this game sure does. Really quality animations and the anime voice actor cast? Awesome. It's a bit easy, but I hope most people go in expecting a fun time - cause it's a good time.
While I think it's cool it surpassed Harry Potter, comparing the sales of a 1103 chapter manga to a series of 7 full length books isn't exactly a 1:1 comparison.
@@Chily-lm1kc I am comparing it by sales. If I was comparing it by quality, One Piece would obviously win. I'm just saying for comparing the popularity of both series, sales of individual chapters of manga isn't a good metric when the other thing you are comparing to is a series of full books.

24:43 There's, indeed, evidence to the opposite. Wano erected massive walls to fend off a great enemy, yes, but they also made the poneglyphs to ensure the Ancient Kingdom did not get lost, and kept safe one of their weapons for 8 centuries. So the "Great Enemy" of Wano cannot be this Ancient Kingdom, if Wano is factually responsible for creating the breadcrumbs that will lead to finding their weapons again. Not to mention, creating the Rio Poneglyh, that tells the history the winning faction is actively hiding and denying. On top of that, Wano was not isolated until after having secured Pluto and learned what to write on the poneglyphs (which includes the location of the other two weapons, and the history of what happened),so that wall came just after the war against the Ancient Kingdom was ended. How can an already defeated enemy be a "Great Enemy" so big that you need to isolate yourself from the planet? So the Great Enemy was not defeated when they created the wall, meaning it was the victor in that war, the one with the strength to topple the super advanced giant of a nation, i.e. the World Government. Doffy said it himself, Justice will always prevail, because whoever wins becomes Justice, which is another way of saying that history is written by the victor, which in turn makes it a story and not history. If anything, the current status quo on its own, even without us knowing of stuff like Lulusia and Im, if we were regular OP citizens, is evidence that the WG is that enemy, simply because they are the ones hiding the history of what really happened, and killing everyone who tries to find out about it (it is common knowledge that researching the Lost Century is punishable by death). If the Ancient Kingdom was so bad, and the World Government was born as a means to fight against their oppression, why do they deny the evidence that proves how the Ancient Kingdom acted? Just announce to the world how evil they were, show the receipts, and let nobody ever forget they YOU saved them from that fate, take credit for saving humanity. Why did Nefertari D. Lili betray the WG and sided with the Ancient Kingdom in the end? Why did Wano go out of its way, to the point of physically cutting themselves off the outside world, while preserving the history of the Ancient Kingdom?

This "bad pacing" term is a social conception. You dont have the patience then its bad pacing. But millions and millions of ppl don't care about how slow the pacing can be. You just hear the complainers more, you can call it "slow pacing" but not "bad pacing" cuz it is entirely subjective. Saying slow pacing only is okay when you're 8 yo is very very short minded, as patience is somethin our current society is struggling with, with all the attention problems social medias puts into your brain. ADHD has never been more diagnosed than in our current era. Being okay with a pacing isn't being a 8 years old but just not being a spoiled individual with a monkey attention span
It's bad maybe not for you but for the series as a whole it definitely is. Few people have the necessary time to watch 1000+ episodes, that's just too many. That's why the remake is great. It is actively bad because it is a waste of time, if only 6 to 10 minutes of a 20 minutes episode are meaningfull, that means that you could be watching two to three times more content by watching any other anime
no, it quite literally is bad anime pacing. Toei does the most to stretch out the manga as much as they can. in a 20 minute episode (outside of intros and recaps on average) they cover ONE 18-20 page chapter. that’s god awful pacing. so they extend and drag out still frames, or stay on sections for too much time. in comparison, the average anime covers 2-4 chapters per episode. JJK season 2 covered 75 chapters in 23 episodes, 3.3 on average. one piece would only be about 350 episodes up until the end of wano if it had the pacing of literally any other seasonal anime. but Toei refuses to make it seasonal, so weekly we get episodes that cover either the same amount as one chapter, or just a bit less; it depends. and while some episodes of the anime are extended amazingly (1086/7, 1015, the Zoro vs King episode, and most Gear 5 episodes), 95% of one piece’s anime isn’t dragged out like that. so it’s incredibly immature and just stupid to insult people who complain about the pacing, as it’s a real issue. and it’s a disservice to Oda’s manga and the original story he created as Toei literally destroys its pacing to being three times the length of what it should be if it had a properly paced adaptation. for example, Dressrosa is 102 chapters and was adapted in 118 episodes. that’s 0.86 chapters per episode. on the contrary, JJK chapter 102 was fully adapted by episode 38. can you see how slow one piece is in comparison? 2.7 chapters per episode on average, and that’s with a lot of fight scenes being extended by upwards of 5 minutes with anime original content. and it still adapts more than one piece.
