Not just good...best live action thus far. Perfect cast, Perfect chemistry, and best story version thus far. Its better then anything anyone is showing thus far.
Adding Garp to Rogers execution scene was a brilliant decision. If the series makes it to Marineford, it's going to make everything that happens there with Garp hit just 100 times harder.
I thought live-action Shanks was perfect and portrayed Shanks’s kindness/warmth and humor/breeziness as well as power so perfectly. I really believed he cared that much for little Luffy too, in the way he spoke to him with real regard and gentleness. He totally sold the “Get lost” line too!
I watched the show knowing nothing about One Piece. I did watch it with my friend who has seen and read a lot of it so she filled me in a bit. But as someone that had no context i really enjoyed it and I am now reading the manga.
Arlong park was lacking an episode of more depth into who Arlong is. I'm not to sure what to say about his appearance as they were trying to go as natural as possible, I think CGI would have been a good choice but the director said he wanted authenticity, which I will respect but later down the line I think thats going to backfire as you stated he was not that intimidating. Shanks I think he did an amazing job, It was very adorable.
That's not the "ONLY" sad bit tho Usopp felt like a non factor in his own arc so I dunno how u can possibly think it was for the better😅 not even just in syrup village they just sidelined him for the whole season and removed essentially all his standout moments for whatever reason🤦♂️
I like how they made everything darker and actually killed characters. My biggest thing about the anime is not killing characters who die... When homeboy left a mess on the deck in episode 1, I was committed to the entire season.
@@arrogantgodjealous That one annoyed me so much in the anime I almost stopped watching. I don't like it when a show is to scared to kill off characters.
I always believed a good live action adaptation of an anime would happen. It was just a matter of time. However I never imagined that it would be One Piece. Not from Netflix. Not after they screwed up two soft balls like Death Note and Cowboy Bebop. Everything that could go right went right. And I couldn't be happier. Now that they got the easiest part of the anime adapted, it's time for the harder stuff. One piece will only get harder to adapt from here.
What do you mean why they announced the actor for track because dragon supposed to be in season 1 due to pacing it got cut out and you Getting kinda off topic plus
Pacing and budget remember and the walking scene was still in there live action just shorter and not as cool but still cool enough that I would rate it a 8\10
i really liked how diverse the cast is, makes it very enjoyable. Altho, i kinda didnt like how luffy was nerfed heavily in the live action. As someone who watched opla before op first i was confused why he's the protagonist, since most of the live action focused on the other crew and during the arlong vs luffy fight it was a bit lackluster for me. I watched the anime and there i understood why luffy was the protagonist so i guess thats my only gripe. Although I think budget might be an issue considering they cut some episodes out and it might be expensive to animate all the rubbery things luffy does in the anime. for nitpicks, i'd probably go on Nami's sister having a tattoo. The tattoo is supposed to symbolize her commiserating with Nami having the arlong tattoo and hating it. Having it in the opla loses its purpose since she was made to hate nami bc she's oblivious to the part where nami is doing all of this for the village.
Interesting take😅 As a long time fan of the original i thought Luffy in the live action was a standout and did the character justice But am curious tho...how did u receive Usopp coz personally I think he was also quite watered down and sidelined heavily when compared to his anime/manga self, do u see wat I mean post ur anime viewing experience of east blue saga?🤔
@@ryanamans5576 i suppose personality wise, yeah. but fight scenes, the most that stood out to me are zoro and sanji. Personally, I don't really like Usopp that much because he lies a lot (albeit most of it is comedic relief) but that's just me. Objectively, I do agree he's watered down compared to the anime because his famous "i have 8000 henchmen dont mess with me" is not really present in the la? i mean he still lies to anyone willing to listen to his story and still there for comedic relief but he's overshadowed by other characters haha. Might be odd but I honestly think Coby is more memorable than usopp with how much they're fleshing out coby and garp as oppositions to the shpc.
@seijumimurasakibara5516 more memorable in the live action maybe I see ur point there😅 Anyway I don't know what i was thinking most people initially don't like Usopp at the beginning so am not too shocked at this opinion its pretty much what I expected tbh 🤷♂️ The character is alot deeper in the manga/ anime he's never been just comic relief🤔 but...I suppose since u didn't care for him too much u didn't notice that basically all his standout moments in east blue are missing. I think they didn't do him any justice whatsoever 👀
@@ryanamans5576 i didnt say that he's JUST there for comedic relief, i said he's STILL there for comedic relief because pre timeskip he and luffy (and later on chopper) are the most that goof around. I can't comment on post-ts since i'm not there yet. "I suppose since u didn't care for him too much u didn't notice that basically all his standout moments in east blue are missing." Despite not liking him on a personal level because he's a liar, I do know his importance to the crew, and for Coby to be more memorable than him in LA, someone we dont see again until 300+ episodes, says something. That's why I said what I said lol
Problem with Aarlong is that they brought him in too early, the fact that he’s not only already met Luffy, but already beaten him (and didn’t seem THAT strong) really lowers the impact of his assault on the fortress.
To be honest, it's much easier to adapt Death Note than Cowboy Bebop. DN needs less CGI than CB because DN is already set in our real world & in present time. No spaceships or outerspace setting needed. Just a couple of Shinigami & a little bit special effects for some death scenes. Alas, Netflix managed to screw it up.
One Piece is good. I'll watch the next seasons. I didn't like the actor who played Kobe or Nami. They felt too one dimensional for me. Mihawk scared my kitten with just his stare. Which i found both funny and impressive.
2 nitpicks: 1. It is "adaptation" and not "adaption." 2. That was Igo, not Shogi. (And yeah, that cut makes no sense.) It is great that you really liked this show. Personally, I just couldn't handle it. One can get away with so much silliness and goofiness in anime, but, even when toned down, it becomes too cheesy for my taste when done in live action. They even had to ruin the character proportions for the sake of filming. Arlong should be much larger. Imagine them doing the same thing to Big Mom. This just wasn't for me. I'll stick to the anime.

I concur.

You're not alone. I feel his fatherly aura made me drawn to him too, he did great imo

Good? Is an understatement.
i think that the changes to the syrup village arc were all for the better… the only sad bit was that Jango just doesn’t exist…

@@ryanamans5576 Agreed. Usopp was my most favorite when I watched the anime. Other guys have superhuman abilities but Usopp has to rely on his brain.
Even in the anime they thought shanks had devil fruit no difference
I would love to re-experience One Piece & Jojo for the 1st time all over again. I can't say the same for any other anime
School Rumble.

All I can say is water Luffy better be good cause that is one of the best scenes in one piece. No debate
Speed Racer is the best adaptation this is a close second
