I don't know how this doesn't have millions of views, my man. This is a stellar video essay that gets right to the heart of why I love this story so much.
I'm 33, but when I was in early mid-school, I got deeply into manga and anime, and I was more of a bleach and naruto guy than one piece. Turns out my immaturity at that time didn't give me chance to appreciate the story as I do today. It was a delight rewatching OP for the 3rd time just recently from ep 1 and since I got deep into theories and buildings, I appreciated some foreshadowings way way much more than anything else. Truly the best fiction story ever made in our lifetime.
When I started watching One Piece, I was skeptical due to the fact that there were way too many episodes. Now that I have finished, I am sad that there are not enough episodes. Thank you, Oda, for this amazing adventure you are giving us.
There is too many episodes lol, the anime is a cash grab that stretches the manga chapters to an insane extent, that fact that Dressarosa has more episodes in the anime than chapters in the manga just shows how much they milk the pacing of the story Realistically one piece should have like 450 episodes at this point
@@vovabars1234 the fact i'm the only one to like your message proove the one piece fan base never learn how to write a story or never watch anything else (death note is at least 100 pages). The anime and oda take too many time for useless exposition and dialogue

I'd love for one piece to recieve the respect and acknowledgment works like Tolkien's The Hobbit, Lord of The Rings (and others of course) since I believe it's up there in terms of storytelling, symbolism and impact
One Piece is one of my favorite pieces of fiction to ever be written I first started the anime in 2014 as an 8th grader and caught up to manga later that year in my freshman year of high school Now I’m 23 and a father and One Piece has been there through it all, it always brings me such joy to experience this series (almost) every week
23 and a father is crazy bro, only 3 years older than me but I still feel like a kid. Having a kid seems so far away and foreign to me it’s crazy how life is and how different it is for all of us.
what really makes me love one piece it embodied the real like life scenarios we are facing right now. RACISM, CORRUPTIONS, etc. its really our WORLD with just POWERS!
I don't know if I've ever seen such an on point description of this incredible series. If I wasn't up to the latest Manga chapters, I would certainly like to watch it after this video. Thanks man. Subbed
Beautiful video! Thank you for sharing your love for the greatest story! 37 and I have been with the Strew hats since the beginning. One Piece invokes every emotion to the fullest. When the Minks kept their secret safe for the samurai and we found our how loyal they were I was shocked with my jaw dropped for 5 minutes. My mind flew up! Amazing story and absolutely the best.
What a great video. I Sometimes feel like a cult member being a fan of One Piece. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about it. It's actually kinda nuts
The way OP grabs people and never lets them go is easily the most remarkable thing about it. People might think it’s hyperbole when we all say things it’s the greatest story ever told, but it’s really not. The story touches on so many primal human emotions throughout that it makes us feel that way. Art that makes you feel something is good art. Art that makes you feel everything is transcendent art. OP is a one of a kind, transcendent story that reminds us what it’s like to be human. I truly appreciate it. My late brother once told me he thought I’d love OP and showed me a few episodes. This was maybe in 2010. It didn’t click with me back then because I wasn’t ready for it. After his death (which came at the end of a three year period where I lost my father, mother, last two remaining grandparents and uncle… yeah…) I decided to watch it based on his recommendation. I was a mess of emotions, obviously, on my first watch. But boy did it help me get through all of that. No joke, it kept me from giving up. Watching it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. As a side note, sometimes it feels like OP was made for me lol. My mother’s name was Robin. My last name is Vega. And my longtime dog growing up was named Nika, spelled just like that. And this was long before Nika was introduced into the story. Is it fate? No. But it’s still cool.
One Piece is the only story that made me cry with joy and amazement in the He Laughed episode, and the mere appearance of Joey Boy makes me crack with a smile all the time while he is on the screen. One Piece may be flawed, but with these flaws, it is the best story told since forever. Thanks for the wonderful video 🤍
I am so touched by your video and it almost voiced what I'd been impacted by and inspired by One Piece and One Piece alone. And you sum up it. Great video and great job!!!
My eyes teared up several times during your video. Thank you so much for putting my love into words. 💚 I’ve started watching in 2006, when I was 12yo. Am turning 30 next year and can tell all my battles side by side with luffy’s.
I'm gonna share this video to everybody I know. This world needs One Piece to become a worldwide phenomeno, that will inspire people to be kinder and help each other (which now started to actualy happen thanks to the netflix adaptation). Amazing video and an awesome message buddy ! You are doing great ! 👊
One piece is inspiring conspiracy theorist and it is making world realize that world is actually controlled by elites only aka. Real life Celestial Dragons or 5 elders.
I remember watching this when I was a kid and it first started airing in th west. I thought it was boring and rather than one piece I focused on Naruto. Naruto is a good story, and as I entered adulthood and settled into married life the last episode where the marriage happened marked a fitting end. Now I am a full fledged adult, husband, and parent. And I watched the live action show just to give it another shot. It’s an old story, maybe they will develop in ways that I would find good now. I breezed through in a few days and immediately set about picking the anime back up. A few months later and I have completely caught up, manga and anime, and am now fully invested in the future king of the pirates. Truly great storytelling with the likes of Herbert and Tolkien in the west, Oda continues to capture me with his themes and characters. You can be sure I will be celebrating with the rest of the community upon our Straw Hats taking the throne, and achieving their various other dreams. I’m so glad I waited until I was an adult to read and watch it. I wouldn’t have gotten it as a kid. Oda could write THE modern masterclass in storytelling for sure. So happy to have witnessed it before it completed and follow it along to its conclusion.
I'm 16 and recently I decided to catch up to the series a little before the gear 5th episodes started airing. It's really amazing how one piece changed my perspective on so many things in such a little time. I see friendships in a different way than I did, and it allowed me to find new and one of my best friends just because of the same interests
I loved how you introduce as last part the animation peak of One piece, making it pretty obvious that with Top Tier Animation One piece is as a hole completely incredible, like if the good animation was the only thing One piece was missing to be in the conversation for the best. One piece is only missing a proportional End to be for sure the greatest Story Ever!!! Incredible lucky for being able to witness history being made!!
I wish I covered it a little bit more, but the manga’s art is incredible. The Marineford Arc is almost entirely 2 page spreads, which is almost entirely unheard of. It’s amazing to see the animation catching up to Oda’s level of commitment
Wonderfully made! One piece is certainly a classic for the ages to come, and would go down as one of our modern classical tales, similarly to the lord of the rings.
The best way I can describe to those who doubt that One Piece is just better than 95% of stories, is that despite the story revolving around the main character, the WORLD does not, and it continues to turn and change without his direct or indirect influences.
no idea who you are. no idea why you were a recommended video. but so far 12mins into the video. and you are actually putting out quality. to have only 89 subs is criminal. i will gladly be 90. im glad you are enjoying my favorite show of all time as well. there is another manga/ anime called hajime no ippo that is also very well written. you may fall in love as well. thank you for the video. i appreciate you

I myself have only been watching one price for 10 months but I have caught up and I can say that your video is so spot on to my feeling and the feeling I see in my friends! Without a doubt this is my favorite one piece video I have come across. Thank you for making something so beautiful for a story that is so beautiful!
One piece really has done something that no other show could ever do for me make me happy, I mean, not as happy as this one dead there are still good shows, but I don’t think they can ever compete. It’s just a story telling the characters everything about it, the world, and even as a person who loves to see it really does make me happy sing it all the time, even if it’s not in real life in the future, maybe it could be❤ the characters all have such amazing dreams, and it really shows you shouldn’t be giving up on dreams. You should just do it while you have the time in your life, I am a kind of sad, depressing person myself, but I always do like to do happy things and just be goofy all the time it’s kind of just my personality and the goofy characters just give off the energy I have all the time❤
This is so beautiful 😭 I dont know why you mentioning the bonding over One Piece with your kid had me emotional :') I wish one day if I ever have a kid, it will love One Piece as well ❤ I love the aspect One Piece bonding people everywhere , be it friends, family. I'm forever thankful for this story it has been with me through rough times, made friends because of it and has also taught me a lot.
Yeah tbh one piece has made me realize i like most anime for the fights, so snime with good plots will always be a shock to me. Full metal alchemist blew me away, while my hero was cool but i never think about it.
18:00-18:50 yeah that’s crazy, I remember being baffled by the crazy islands, then it became normal….. trying to explain to one piece citizens outside the grand line would sound like one of ussops lies
As a 20 year long fan of One Piece, for years I tried to get people to watch it. I’d always recommend it whenever anime or television shows came up in conversation. And seeing all these people coming to it now after all these years, and seeing it the way I see it and enjoying it has been so great. I’m an OG fan who’s just happy that so many other people are sharing in this amazing story.

Oda was often rejected by many editors because they thought he was too good and wanted to reject him so that he can get better. This was common as many prodigies faced shutdowns and hiatuses. But with determination Oda became so good at writing consistently good material he finally got a chance when romance dawn was selected by his editor.
Great video! I remember watching One Piece on 4Kids when I was a kid. Stopped watching it after a little bit. Then jumped back in when it was like 8-10 years ago. It's been one hell of a ride.
10 years since started watching/reading One Piece. It honestly help me shape as the person I'm today, and I try to put everyone that I know watching this masterpiece. Congratulations on the video, it truly shows what One Piece is and represents.
You've made me feel a lot of ways in this video. When you played the clip with "We Go"'s music track. It made me motivated. When I heard you compare it to the York New City arc it made me feel like I could agree. When I heard you talk about the story and impact of moments it made me feel sad. One Piece will end one day. And on that day. I will cry tears of joy. Not because it ended. But because I was there. I may not have been there from the very beginning. But I went through this story. One Piece has definetly changed my life. It taught me to care about people even though I never usually do. You never know what someone is going through. Anyways. I could go on for years and years. But I just want to say Thank you nakama ✖️✊️
I just started watching last year and took me around 6 or 7 months to catch up to the anime. Its such a long show but i never felt any kind of burnout with it until wano and was just cause i felt that arc was too long in general. But even after being caught up on it, i still crave more. Ive been rewatching some arcs and i dont think a day goes by that i dont at least think about it. I never expected to fall in love with this show so hard.
Go D. Oda is an absolute genius and has created the single greatest piece of fiction ever (a really good opinion). I first watched in the early 2000’s and didn’t give it a chance (poor English dub deterrent), but since 2008, I have been completely hooked. Like many comments have pointed out, I will feel like I lost a friend when the story ends… Thank you for creating this, and I look forward to seeing your channel grow!

Wow, you and me pretty much caught up to the anime and manga at the exact same time, and we both got into it it sounds like around the same time too! For me though, I came a little bit after you to the franchise. I actually remember I first decided to dive into this series on its anniversary, which is October 20th IIRC. And it took me almost exactly 10 months to catch up. I still don't really know how I averaged over 100 episodes a month. I mean, I cut out every opening/closing and the way-too-long recaps which effectively cuts each episode down to 16-18 minutes per, thus fitting ALMOST 4 an hour. But even then, it rarely felt like I binged very often except for the arcs that you can't help but binge, like Water 7, Marineford, and Wano arcs. There was even 1 and a half months I didn't watch a single episode due to being consumed by ZoL Tears of the Kingdom LOL. And I moved states twice! Yet still somehow fit 1071 episodes (the episode I actually caught up to the anime on which was too perfect IMO LOL). I think it just goes to show how beautifully enthralling this story truly is, that you can watch over 1000 episodes without it feeling like a chore, or if you're like me, even wishing there was another 1000 episodes to watch because I don't want it to stop! LOL I mean, I do want it to end tbh. I want it to have a satisfying conclusion, but only when it feels right. It just feels like there's SO much more that needs to stop happen and my one and only worry is Oda-san may end up rushing some of it. He probably won't, but I do worry because of how he's stated he sees it ending in 2025, and at his current rate of writing, I just don't see how it'll be possible to fully wrap every loose story thread up while making sure to give them the time and elaboration they'll need to feel fully fleshed out... idk, it's Oda so I know I really shouldn't worry, but still...
I had to give you a SUB for the pure fact of how great this video you made was. I also always say that “one piece is the greatest story ever told” so I was glad to see that as your title lol, cause I genuinely believe that to be the case & be undeniably true.

Dude I suggest you read something else than shonen manga lol, One Piece is good, but calling it the greatest piece of fiction or story ever made just shows how little you actually seen
And One Piece is arguably is not even the greatest shonen, but that's a whole different conversation
@@vovabars1234 For watching a lot of things, One Piece is still my favorite.
But it's up to anyone to say what is. If you feel like Vinland Saga or Berserk is better, you do you! (I also love these btw)
@@winterbeast6326 fair enough, I just don’t get when people make general statements like “best fiction ever”, just sounds too much, especially when talking about anime/manga(don’t want to downplay anime/manga, I also love it, but let’s not act like it’s peak of fiction)
@@vovabars1234 I mean it's just my opinion really, but I haven't read many books I'm not gonna lie. Maybe there is something better for me out there, but right now One Piece feels like the best fiction ever to me.
It has everything, world building, characters, themes...all of that so perfectly made it's actually crazy to me how one guy made most of it
Glad you caught up in time to catch the best part.
Me too!
great quality content from a small channel is always a pleasure to see
Thank you so much for talking about the animation it is just amazing they're doing this weekly I just want to say that Akihiro Ota, Vincent Chansard, Naotoshi Shida, Megumi Ishitani and a whole lot more staff have really elevated the show
Yeah its astonishing that the One piece team is consistently putting out some of the best animated episodes. I can't wait to be caught up and to see Egghead Island
@@eduargumedo3644well that is the case now, but it wasnt this good before, but still.. Considering it is released weekly, the animation is rly good.
I don't know how this doesn't have millions of views, my man. This is a stellar video essay that gets right to the heart of why I love this story so much.
Thank you so much!
Just wait brother it gonna blow up
Damn you nailed it. You're script the rate of speech and one piece itself. It the masterpiece ❤
Who wasn't
There is too many episodes lol, the anime is a cash grab that stretches the manga chapters to an insane extent, that fact that Dressarosa has more episodes in the anime than chapters in the manga just shows how much they milk the pacing of the story
Realistically one piece should have like 450 episodes at this point
Exactly 😂, same here…I feel there aren’t enough episodes now
@@vovabars1234 the fact i'm the only one to like your message proove the one piece fan base never learn how to write a story or never watch anything else (death note is at least 100 pages). The anime and oda take too many time for useless exposition and dialogue
Been following the Straw hats since my 20s. I'm now 44 and I still watch and live their adventures.
It's definitely one of a kind manga/anime series!
you made me cry mate, you made me cry watching this video. I'm watching this masterpiece for over 17 years and when you were telling al that, all these years were recalled before my eyes. How I started this show, how I'm a part of strawhats crew. I grew with these characters. imagine You have watched this show for one and half year and how you loved this show that you made such a beautiful review. Imagine us, the fans who have watching and reading it for 15+ years. What are our emotions on it. I literally can't describe what I'm feeling right now but....!! I love it man. I genuinely love this show. Like you said it made me cry happy and sometimes scream. I hope I get to see the ending of ONE PIECE before I die. I hope ODA gets a long life to made this masterpiece to it's very end. I hope all these ONE PIECE fans gets to live their lives watching the end. IT IS THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD❣💛Thankuuu for making this video and making all those emotions I've kept in my heart come from my eyes♥TYSM
Well said! 😭
i didnt know muslims are such soys these days.
i recommend Watching totally not mark complete review of the series it is amazing

You guys cry for everything 😅
I'd love for one piece to recieve the respect and acknowledgment works like Tolkien's The Hobbit, Lord of The Rings (and others of course) since I believe it's up there in terms of storytelling, symbolism and impact
One Piece is one of my favorite pieces of fiction to ever be written
I first started the anime in 2014 as an 8th grader and caught up to manga later that year in my freshman year of high school
Now I’m 23 and a father and One Piece has been there through it all, it always brings me such joy to experience this series (almost) every week
Such a good video that analyzes the One Piece world in a unique way. Absolutely love it and can't wait to see more videos like this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@Yukidotwav I got a reply!!!!!
Cult is negative word bro its not cult but a cultural phenomenon
@@Vijay18181 Dude, Its a Cult, by leaps and bonds
This is one of the best one piece videos ive seen in a while
I’m glad you liked it, thank you so much 🙏🏻
I just want to say that I used to be a One Piece hater, but this video has gotten me back into the series, this was an incredible video, thank you :)
One Piece has a special place in my heart and has inspired me to write my own story.❤
I pity the people who still hate on it. They are just missing out and somehow proud of it.
One piece and Malazan Book of the Fallen are the two pinnacles of fantasy epics that I have seen. One Piece is so good.
im so glad that this video popped up on my screen. Just because i read the comments i noticed the size of the channel. you absolutely nailed it
The way OP grabs people and never lets them go is easily the most remarkable thing about it.
I watched OP ever since I was a kid. I have love this story for all my life. Thank you for making this video
been watching the Anime since 2005, I can't even imagine how I'll feel when the final episode airs...
"Luffy's JOYFUL nature" I see what you did there... xD
Love One Piece and your video made me emotional!

@@Anonymous-hp1tg For sure brother ! Except these are not theories anymore, but straight facts.
So happy to have witnessed it before it completed and follow it along to its conclusion.
for me since one piece is the best, I don't have expectations for other anime so i get to experience them better
Great video man, I'm sure your channel will explode eventually! I'm subbed and will be waiting for the next one!
This was a fantastic video, that truly shows this great story thank you for all your work👍
The best way I can describe to those who doubt that One Piece is just better than 95% of stories, is that despite the story revolving around the main character, the WORLD does not, and it continues to turn and change without his direct or indirect influences.
Nice video! Keep up the good work!
no idea who you are. no idea why you were a recommended video. but so far 12mins into the video. and you are actually putting out quality. to have only 89 subs is criminal. i will gladly be 90. im glad you are enjoying my favorite show of all time as well. there is another manga/ anime called hajime no ippo that is also very well written. you may fall in love as well. thank you for the video. i appreciate you

This video should have 1 million views
Hey man I'm watching your video for the first time but whatever you said in the video is 100% true I can feel you one piece ❤ is the Greatest Story of all time nothing can ever come even a little close to this masterpiece never nor in future🔥💯❤
I’ll be honest I don’t “like” videos often or even comment but this video legitimately brought tears to my eyes! I can feel your love for the story.
When Onepiece ends, a part of me might die that day
18:00-18:50 yeah that’s crazy, I remember being baffled by the crazy islands, then it became normal….. trying to explain to one piece citizens outside the grand line would sound like one of ussops lies
Fr, i start waching one piece when i was 13 yers old now 15-16. And i still tinnk that one piece is peak show. Even my cusin start(10yers old) she too love op we only talk about this, or new chapters, eps theories or even pl who hete one piece(only who sey that op is long ir bad animation is nosense) we love one piece ❤
Oda was often rejected by many editors because they thought he was too good and wanted to reject him so that he can get better. This was common as many prodigies faced shutdowns and hiatuses. But with determination Oda became so good at writing consistently good material he finally got a chance when romance dawn was selected by his editor.
Ignore the haters,
Greatest story in the world. 👍
Came here from Instagram. Was not disappointed. Keep going :D
Always love hearing how other people get hooked on One Piece and how it inevitably becomes their favorite work of fiction!
This is such a great video. I thought you had 247k subs instead of only 247, with the high quality visual and audio. Again, amazing video
beautifully done video man

Great video! I remember watching One Piece on 4Kids when I was a kid. Stopped watching it after a little bit. Then jumped back in when it was like 8-10 years ago. It's been one hell of a ride.

Although i dont think its the greatest story ever told i can appreciate how influencual and still love the series . Great video
This video was honestly amazing. You deserve way more than 300 subscribers
underrated creator imo
When I went to like I was surprised to see your sub count. This is such a well thought out and we'll made video. You're going places. I can tell
Love One Piece to death.
i am absolutely agreed with you one piece is something that no other anime can be amazing that the only word i say whenever i rewatch scenes again
Amazing vídeo! The time flied by so fast!
Thank you so much!
One piece has been a part of my life longer than it hasn’t. When it ends, I genuinely don’t know what I’ll do. I might just break down and cry.
Found your channel randomly. Well done on the review!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
BRO the script is AMAZING. Best one piece video i've ever fucking watched. Hitting that subscribe immediately, I wish you the best of luck in your UA-cam journey man... Minutes into the video and I'm already blown away. If this script isn't AI, fucking props to you. You need to be a writer ontop of writing scripts for UA-cam videos man... Words can't describe how good the video is and I'm not even finished... If it was AI, still props to you because I know AI didn't write this whole script by itself, you wrote along with it.. And even ontop of that, the narration is so good... The tone of your voice, making your voice louder on certain words, stretching certain words. Doesn't feel like a script at all man. You have me writing all this a few minutes in so that shows how great it is. As I said bro, best of luck to you.. You got big things ahead. Like everything, just stay consistent man. Set goals, but not too big of goals. You will be unsatisfied with results and then quit (this might not be you, but 99% of people will). 3k, 6k, 10k, 15k, etc. Dude stay consistent and determined and you will do big things on UA-cam. You got it!
No other fictional world comes close to matching it
In anime/manga: arguably
In all fiction: fuck no
💯 agreed
Fictional worlds with Better world building than one piece
- Reverend Insanity
- Lord Of The Mysteries
- Middle Earth Universe
- A Song Of Ice And Fire Expanded Lore
- Star Wars Legends
- Malazan Book Series
I honestly enjoy hearing people talk about one piece more than actually watching the show or reading the manga.
Really great video, i love tha research and i appreciate tha time u took to put into this
not me crying while watching this video bc of how much One Piece has impacted me. One Piece is the reason why i am living to this day.
LOL
I mean, I do want it to end tbh. I want it to have a satisfying conclusion, but only when it feels right. It just feels like there's SO much more that needs to stop happen and my one and only worry is Oda-san may end up rushing some of it. He probably won't, but I do worry because of how he's stated he sees it ending in 2025, and at his current rate of writing, I just don't see how it'll be possible to fully wrap every loose story thread up while making sure to give them the time and elaboration they'll need to feel fully fleshed out... idk, it's Oda so I know I really shouldn't worry, but still...
very well done! thank you so much for creating the video, i will help spread it to my close people that haven't experienced one piece ❤
man this is such a good video
Spectacular analysis lad!!! You go it 🔥
Fantastic video brother! Can't wait to see where all your hard work takes you!
Thank you so much!
I had to give you a SUB for the pure fact of how great this video you made was. I also always say that “one piece is the greatest story ever told” so I was glad to see that as your title lol, cause I genuinely believe that to be the case & be undeniably true.
About the beginning of this video - I felt that way too when it was like the first anime/thing I truly fell in love with on this planet back in 2010. In a lot of ways that still rings true (other than the infuriating moments that happened a loooot from Thriller Bark to Fishman). But this story, I think, changed my attitude for the better ever since. It's made me embrace other stories I read with every fiber that I can muster.
