This is basically how good I thought the original Jak II cutscenes looked after finishing the first game haha. Especially on the increased resolution PS4 re-release. Beautiful.
This is very cool! Everything is so detailed, gritty, shiny and crisp, which is fitting for Jak II. There's only a couple little things, like Jak and Keira's teeth look a little messed up, and the bloom on the text is a little annoying. Overall this looks great!!
so i have everything installed in the correct paths but my reshade tells me alot of effects didnt load properly and the games lighting is thrown off in the menus and ingame especially around water
I know it's a little early, this is the first time I hear of this (it got to my youtube feed), do you plan on doing Jak X as well ? The only thing that game is missing is the graphical update, the rest is superb in my opinion.
This preset will work with all games on OpenGoal. So far, I have made videos with this preset for Jak 1 and 2. When 3 and X are released on the OpenGoal launcher, I will make videos for those, too. Stay tuned!
My minimap is black and i see lights through walls, reshade is telling me it failed to compile some effects, for unknown reasons, i selected the preset and changed the global processor definitions depth input reversed to one, but it looks nothing like in your video :(
Hi there, for me the reshade works fine but the issue that i have is when I activate the preset, all the lights are visible through walls, it only with the reshade cuz when I play without it all the lights work fine. Hope you have some idea for what's happening.
The neat thing about reshade is that you can adjust whatever you want in the reshade menu, which you are inevitably gonna use. Fortunately, it is as easy as unchecking the bloom filter. If you want it removed.
I don't know if there is a recording issue with these reshade videos but the grainy-ness I can't stand. Good work on the colors but reshades do need more work.
@@Tuesdayz Bloom was expensive to do (processing power), and required at least some work to pull off, so it was used only sparingly on PS2, and many games did not have it at all.
@@NotOrdinaryInGames i seem to remember it being more excessive than it probably was, but i do remember a number of games i played having kind of a lot of bloom, not the overkill amount in this mod though

The new update has a written tutorial in the readme file. Follow that. I'm pretty limited with my time due to work, so I won't be able to make a video tutorial right away. Anyways, this was mainly supposed to be a showcase.
Yeah, too bad. As far as I know, there is no way to fix it, so this is more of a proof of concept. Since the games are being decompiled, maybe somebody will implement proper post-processing effects like I was trying to showcase into the games natively. If you have any knowledge on how to fix it, you should contribute to the project!

Totally. Other than over-bloom and the teeth thing it is PERFECTION.
Agreed, Bloom on text is too much. Even on item icons in the HUD. The world needs to be shiny, the hud doesn't

You need to use ReShade version 4.9.1 and make sure you have depth from the z buffer set up.

Definitely UA-cam compression at play. Looks much better in person.
Kids these days are not alright if they think super contrast and lots of bloom make everything better.
That's my exact thoughts every time I see stuff like this. It's the same thing every time. High contrast and make everything shiny.

@@AG1k nah, i just used the modern version of reshade and made it dark and contrasted the way i like it without the glow problem
