We are all standing here and letting it happen. Americans (those of us who aren't billionaires) only have so many avenues to influence our politicians. People are doing all of them, myself included. I protest, I speak to people about it, and I call my (Republican) Member of Congress and Senators every day. The people in their offices know my voice and call me by name at this point. They listen respectfully (even if they're disinterested), and say they'll pass on my concerns. I may be the only one of only a handful calling them from my state (Mississippi), though I've urged others to do so and to encourage others to do so. Polling shows overwhelming support for Palestinians among Americans. Biden may well lose the next election because of his support for this genocide. They simply don't care. They only care what their AIPAC donors say. Of course that's not an excuse to stop doing everything we can.

We are all standing here and letting it happen. Americans (those of us who aren't billionaires) only have so many avenues to influence our politicians. People are doing all of them, myself included. I protest, I speak to people about it, and I call my (Republican) Member of Congress and Senators every day. The people in their offices know my voice and call me by name at this point. They listen respectfully (even if they're disinterested), and say they'll pass on my concerns. I may be the only one of only a handful calling them from my state (Mississippi), though I've urged others to do so and to encourage others to do so.

Well, we (Westerners) are approaching to a point where very few can afford to buy anything other than food and rent.
I like to think I have a security of, if someone robs my home, there is someone I can call to get it sorted. I kind of felt that the UN was that security on a global level.
