I watch Bob because he helps with anxiety. Truly therapeutic. I hope somehow he knows that he helped people like me. Not teaching us to paint, but helping us cope with LIFE
+bidari palacios oh why did you tell me im sooo sad 😥😥😭😭😣😞😧😦😦😲😲😵😕wait how do they get the videos then?and wont they end eventually ? or will they repeat them?
+Perceiving Chaos I think a close friend or family member is uploading the whole show bit by bit. He died of leukaemia in his mid 50s i think in about 1991 :(
David Cullum -- In the movie "Escape From Alcatraz," a con asks Clint Eastwood's character, eventual escapee Frank Morris, on which day he was born. "I don't know," Morris said matter-of-factly, and the con, incredulous, said, "You don't know your own birthday? Boy, what kind of childhood did you have?" Deadpanning, Morris said, "Short."
Cyrus Boy have you got that backward ! Current public education is an oxymoron. It been so dumbed down as to make “graduates” worthless, except to those for whom the students are manipulated and brainwashed!
I’ve recently developed anxiety and it gets pretty bad sometimes, especially at night. I’ve had several nights where I found it impossible to sleep due to anxiety and I sat and thought about bob ross. Thanks to this channel keeping his memories alive, I can actually rest at night as they keep me calm enough to fall asleep without issue. I thank you so much for this. It truly is therapeutic.
I also suffered from anxiety for a while, and watching these videos helped me too. There's something inexplicable about the sound of his voice and the compassion of his manner that is just so calming.
15 years ago, I was battling a terrible addiction. I was at the very beginning of what would be a month long withdrawal from prescription medications. I was at an all time low physically and mentally, and NOTHING would allow me to sleep. Restless legs, body aches, anxiety and depression kept me in a constant zombie-like state every night. One night at around 4am, I turned on the tv to find Bob and The Joy of Painting on, and with his soft and gentle voice and positive affirmations, I drifted off. His voice, the sounds of true brushes against the canvas, it all was wonderful and so very relaxing. I can honestly say that Bob Ross was a key element in helping me climb out of one of the deepest, darkest times in my life. I've often wished I could thank him personally. I still listen to him every night as I power off for sleep. If any of you out there haven't tried this, and are dealing with insomnia, I highly recommend it. You'll be drooling on your pillow case before he's even done putting the clouds in 🤣. With Bob, it was the whole package together that made him so special. The wonderful paintings, the soft and gentle timber of his voice, his true to the core positive attitude towards his viewers and life in general. A very special man that indirectly pulled my life out of complete nose dive! Thank you Bob, and God Bless you!
Thumbs up for Bob Ross - World's First ASMR-Tist --- I saw that Bob knew a majority of his fans watched for relaxation rather than to learn painting... and he was just fine with that!
+Nick Kapa I don't think that's true. In the documentary, and on the show, people associated with the show were aware that most viewers watched him *not* painting (or learning to paint) at all.
I'm feeling stressed and angry and so am going yo binge watch Bob Ross, because it's fundamentally impossible to be angry while watching Bob. What a peaceful soul. Still determined to actually try some of these paintings too.
+Mondo The Grunt well you could say the titanium hwhite thingy is something "Heck" as how often he's saying it "3 hairs and some air" for example he has many, imo, which im sad thex didnt include them in the ERB against Dahli :/
This is the ultimate stress reliever. This is the only way I'm going to make it through this situation (Covid-19). What did we do to deserve this kind of man? Rest in peace Bob Ross. You will live on forever within the hearts of the millions who have been affected by you.
I started to watch Bob when he first came on TV. I took up painting and got pretty good at it!! Been away from it for awhile but getting ready to start again. I was thrilled to find his shows on You tube!! Sure miss him!!!
He’s what inspired me to become an artist. He’s funny, encouraging, and a wonderful painter who explains what he does and doesn’t make me feel like I’m around a celebrity, rather a good old friend. Edit: *”We don’t make ✨mistakes✨ we have ✨happy accidents✨”*
Wow! To finish a great painting in half hour is one thing, but to also be a story teller and teacher is Angel level. Looking at Bob work has shown me the meaning of life and love. R.I.P old buddy. You are greatly missed.
I have watched him for many years. He was quite amazing as a person and as an artist he was excellent, he easily teaches his techniques to the inexperienced inquiring minds. He is missed by many. Rest peacefully Mr. Ross.
Yo I was having such a bad night and Bob made me feel so much better with this painting-- and then he busted out Peep the lil bird and I damn near lost it.
I Mean- Just WOW. This man is absolutely amazing. His voice is calming, painting is out of his very world, and his kind messages to everyone is so comforting and caring. I swear to god if Bob Ross was reading me a book with his peaceful voice, I'd be asleep quicker that you could say "Peep". Keep doing what your doing Bob. Its out of this world. And Peep Is Such A Cutie. Your care for nature is impeccable.
I feel depressed on multiple occasions and sometimes I just see Bob Ross at night not to paint but to calm myself enough so I can peacefully fall asleep.
I love that big gulp he does just as he's done mixing his paints and contemplating before he touches the brush to the canvas. How incredibly immersed he was in the work he was doing while at the same time wonderfully explaining everything he was doing in great detail.
Awwww, that little bird was so cute. I would love to just be able to hug this kind man, the exact opposite of an egoistic macho. Ross, you will never be dead for me
I like to watch him to learn how to paint since I lost that ability. I also like to hear him to help fall asleep because his voice is so calm and soothing. If I don't get an education, I get a nap. Either way, it's a Win-Win!
Bob Ross helps me relax specially when I'm having a hard time or day !everything is better with Bob Ross and watching him paint some amazing pictures does anyone else agree? Elizabeth Vasquez 😇
I love this man’s videos....his voice, the sounds of the brush on the palette and the canvas, SO SATISFYING....I never make it through a full video awake!!
Veloniq wet on wet technique allows you to blend colours on the canvas and paint over spots completely with a different colour. It allows for paintings to be done quickly. It takes about 2 days to dry. Oil painting is fun and with some practice you can paint like this too!
He painted each painting 3 times. One before the episode, one during filming, and one about a week after the episode off memory. Source - the documentary his family was involved in
He can do em even faster, but there was a point where he was going too fast, and had to pad out the last few minutes with sticks and twigs and small details with the scrip liner. Although even then, those small details can really go a long way to further sell your painting.
I like to think that those "falls" are actually full-sized, Niagra-types and the trees are the world's behemoths, able to crush a fleet of towns once felled.
In the comments section for one of his youtube painting shows, some jerk called Bob a phony! Can you believe someone would do that? That p!ssed me off!
I followed one of bob tosses tutorials and wow they really aren’t that hard, sure I need a little more practice but he’s work shows that someone who’s barely ever painted can make something amazing and be in a happy state of mind while painting even if they stuff up
"Anytime you devote your time to practice, you haven't lost. You're always a winner" -Bob Ross
what an amazing quote
I also love the ‘we don’t make mistakes, we make happy accidents and whatever happens we go with them’
That saying is too real! Bob Ross the man
I completely agree.
he was amzing!
💖
Does anyone else watch these videos not to paint or draw but to just fall asleep? Because of his voice! His voice is so soft and nice 🤤
Cow Gaming 3:00 am and I’m here again! Bob Ross is insomnia Kryptonite ! 🌝⭐️ sleep well! 💤
I'm not sure if anyone watches him to paint lol
I do both
Same
I do every night and I sleep better
I watch Bob because he helps with anxiety. Truly therapeutic. I hope somehow he knows that he helped people like me. Not teaching us to paint, but helping us cope with LIFE
exactly ❤️🩹
That smile and laugh Bob gets whenever he beats the devil out of that brush never fails to make me do the same. A slice of fried gold.
GonzoLink And the jokes like "the only thing I can move back home is the trash but here I can move mountains"
"I just covered two cameramen".LOL
What the hell is fried gold?
@@downtownrepalone lmao that's what I was thinking 😂 maybe the "fried" part is cuz he's from the south?
I would like some fried gold please
Bob will always live on in our hearts.
did he die or something?!?!?!
+Perceiving Chaos like 20 years ago

Glad to see someone keeping this mans memory alive. watching this on PBS was so relaxing as a child.
Donald Stinnett What kind of childhood did you have that you needed to relax?
David Cullum --
In the movie "Escape From Alcatraz," a con asks Clint Eastwood's character, eventual escapee Frank Morris, on which day he was born.

Donald Stinnett same😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Donald Stinnett Any idea about the year this was filmed?
Cyrus Boy have you got that backward ! Current public education is an oxymoron. It been so dumbed down as to make “graduates” worthless, except to those for whom the students are manipulated and brainwashed!
This is the happiest channel on youtube ^-^
+Golem Every time he says, "happy", it makes me happy :)
I really think it is. There's so very little negativity and everyone's so happy and relaxed; it's astounding.
Mud It’s a happy little channel
Mud yes, no wonder, with all those happy little trees and happy little accidents 😅
This is the happiest channel on youtube
Yes Bob, I am ready to make a happy little painting
good 4 u 😉
*I WANT SOMEONE TO SMILE AT ME HOW BOB DOES WHILE HE CLEANS HIS BRUSH*
You want them to also beat the devil out of you?
:)
*WHY THE FUCK ARE WE YELLING????*
I love how he finishes a painting and then just pulls out a bird out of nowhere 😂
#legend
I love how he finishes a painting and then just pulls a bird out of nowhere 😂
Like a magic trick 😂
I was wondering what the chirping I was hearing was! 😂
Me too!!!

Always remember you have Harold the rock and bob (and peep)
Just remember you have kindred spirits out here who share your pain. You're not alone. His voice is comforting, and soothing isn't it.
Same with me
I also suffered from anxiety for a while, and watching these videos helped me too. There's something inexplicable about the sound of his voice and the compassion of his manner that is just so calming.

+Nick Kapa I don't think that's true. In the documentary, and on the show, people associated with the show were aware that most viewers watched him *not* painting (or learning to paint) at all.
@Nick Kapa - Not true. Most people watched just to relax, enjoy his soothing voice, and watch a master painter.
Actually it was Bill Alexander who taught Bob . Even the brush beater and phrases were copied from Bill. Check out Alexander Art videos.
They should make a movie for Bob Ross like they did of Mr Roger's
That’s the best idea anyone’s ever had. The Rogers movie was sad enough though so I’ll just cry again
There’s a documentary here on UA-cam called “the happy painter”
You’re welcome ♥️
They did do a documentary. That's how I found out he died 😢
@Your Mom's Meme Daddy why didn't Mr. Rogers deserve one?
ClearSpace 89 YES I FULLY SUPPORT AND STAN THIS IDEA
I watch this every night before going to my happy little bed -2019
I remember back in 2019 good times but now is not so bad could be better tho
Still bad, but Ross still works for us 😉 - 2024
I miss him. Was a wonderful person and made people happy without realizing it. He had a heart of gold.
I'm feeling stressed and angry and so am going yo binge watch Bob Ross, because it's fundamentally impossible to be angry while watching Bob. What a peaceful soul.
Still determined to actually try some of these paintings too.
Hope you are doing well, friend
I want a compilation of all the times Bob beat the devil out of the brush
Please... I will pay
You're on UA-cam bro. Home of 10 hour videos of videos like that.
You should see the one where lazer sounds were put in. 😂
Andrew Ramlall there is a ten our version of just that
By now there is one that was posted a year ago
THE LITTLE BIRDIE AT THE END ...
*AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW*
How many catch phrases does Bob Ross have?
"Make decisions/Big decisions," "It's that easy," and "Beat the devil out of it," to name a few.
+Mondo The Grunt well you could say the titanium hwhite thingy is something
"Heck" as how often he's saying it
"3 hairs and some air" for example
he has many, imo, which im sad thex didnt include them in the ERB against Dahli :/
"there!"
"we don't make mistakes, just happy accidents"
+Mondo The Grunt "lets go up here"
"the least little touch" "very gently"
I really connect with Peep on an emotional level
What do you mean peep?
+Samuel Torres Watch to the end of the video. :)
Peep is fine, he just pretending to be sick so he could stay with Bob 😂
James Shannon Can ya blame him, though? XD
StopReadingThisUsername don’t blame him at all, I’d do the same and I’m hooman 😂
This is the ultimate stress reliever. This is the only way I'm going to make it through this situation (Covid-19). What did we do to deserve this kind of man? Rest in peace Bob Ross. You will live on forever within the hearts of the millions who have been affected by you.
it makes me so happy how happy his brush cleaning makes bob.
They broke the mold when they made him . Truly a once in a lifetime guy , most genuine and sincere human to ever step foot on our planet . FACTS
I started to watch Bob when he first came on TV. I took up painting and got pretty good at it!! Been away from it for awhile but getting ready to start again. I was thrilled to find his shows on You tube!! Sure miss him!!!
Bob Ross is an angle god sent here to make this place a lil' less corrupted
Been watching him on pbs since the 80s. Thank God for pbs.
Its been years but i cant help but come to listen and fall asleep because his voice is so relaxing and feels like home☺️
I love Bob and his happy little paintings.
He was soooo happy to show us that little bird 🐦 . A unique human being for sure . God bless you Bob Ross !
"Any time you devote some time to practice you haven't lost, you're always a winner" 15:49

It’s amazing how he’s able to just scribble paint around on a canvas and it comes out a masterpiece!
His voice is like therapy. RIP Bob!
A “happy little painting”… lol I love his lil sayings..! ❤ 😀
I love how everything Bob mentions is always happy.
I wanna paint like Bob Ross.... I'm 54, and that been a goal since I watched him as a kid in the 80's.... 🥰
"I thought today we'd make a happy little painting."
He said that as if he made something other than happy little paintings...
"Now then...let's have some fun"...the most relaxing words ever spoken.
Yo I was having such a bad night and Bob made me feel so much better with this painting-- and then he busted out Peep the lil bird and I damn near lost it.
I'm 5 years late but I hope your having a good night 😀🥱😊
Watching these videos really helps with my mental health. Bob Ross was truly a gift to this world
Thanks Mr Ross.. Your enthusiasm is infectious.
A truly happy little 30 minutes .
Nothing like his voice and paintings to sleep too. Such a peaceful man
I Mean- Just WOW. This man is absolutely amazing. His voice is calming, painting is out of his very world, and his kind messages to everyone is so comforting and caring. This was written before my mum had told me that he had sadly passed away. At that point I had no idea. My bad. ♡
I liked what you said about Bob Ross I feel the same way also Elizabeth 😇
last moment brought tears to my eyes 😢. What a genuine human.
"twigs n sticks n all kinds of happy things"
I hope he’s painting out there wherever he is in the universe and stars
I feel depressed on multiple occasions and sometimes I just see Bob Ross at night not to paint but to calm myself enough so I can peacefully fall asleep.
I love watching Bob. He is amazing and I have learned a lot about painting just watching. Was so sad when Joy of Painting channel 1069 went off air
That baby bird was in excellent hands
He has such a loving demeanor. I could see him being a literal saint in another lifetime.
Seeing peep made me smile. Bob Ross is an amazing person.
I love that big gulp he does just as he's done mixing his paints and contemplating before he touches the brush to the canvas. How incredibly immersed he was in the work he was doing while at the same time wonderfully explaining everything he was doing in great detail.
I still love those movies. Who else is watching them in 2024? ... from Fort Worth, Tx
Beating that brush puts a smile on his face and that makes me happy .
Best fellow ever !
Awwww, that little bird was so cute.
I would love to just be able to hug this kind man, the exact opposite of an egoistic macho.
Ross, you will never be dead for me
Whenever Bob says: “we’re going to have some fun”, you know he’s going to do something fantastic.
Nobody does better with painting than Bob Ross, he's the best painter of all time.
Everything about this channel is amazing, his videos relax me, the comments on here are just funny af too
I can have a rough day or week at work and when I get home and listen to bob talk makes me feel that everything will okay ❤️
It's amazing how Bob makes these beautiful landscapes so simple to create! 😊
“There’s no such things as mistakes, just happy little incidents” -bob ross
Wow so simple yet so impacting.
I use his videos to relax and sleep
Bob is a legend and legend never die
I like to watch him to learn how to paint since I lost that ability. I also like to hear him to help fall asleep because his voice is so calm and soothing.
If I don't get an education, I get a nap.
Either way, it's a Win-Win!
This world was a better place with Bob Ross in it.
Id love to talk to the people who disliked the video and just ask why? Why would someone dislike a Bob Ross video. I cant get my head around it.
Its pointless to think about some moron haters who dislike anything and everything without any real reason....
They all pressed the dislike button by mistake. Just a happy little accident.
About five percent of the populace are sociopaths/psychopaths. Thus these people dislike Bob Ross, puppies, flowers, etc..
they're mentally unstable people
Haters gotta hate; It's what they do. Let it go, like water off a duck's back. They don't matter in our world.
Bob Ross helps me relax specially when I'm having a hard time or day !everything is better with Bob Ross and watching him paint some amazing pictures does anyone else agree? Elizabeth Vasquez 😇
He pulled out that sweet little bird at the end and I damm near lost my mind! That was so cute🥺
Bob was an awesome guy with the way he took care of wildlife. I have to greatly respect him for that.
Living on top of a mountain in Chatanika, Alaska… I look out my window when Bob is painting and I think “Yep… He’s got it down”
I’m jealous!!! Would be a dream to see that kind of scenery
You'll never see a comment section that's more positive than that of a bob Ross video, a true gentleman we could all learn from, rest well old friend
If you are watching in 2020 you are a legend
Bob Ross has never failed to make me smile during one of these videos. He was an amazing and inspirational person. RIP
I love this man’s videos....his voice, the sounds of the brush on the palette and the canvas, SO SATISFYING....I never make it through a full video awake!!
I’ve been watching this for years this is the man with no enemies fr
I love this painting. The colors just do something for me. Good job Mr Ross keep inspiring. R.I.P.
Just amazing how his canvases come to life
How the hell does he do this in like 30 minutes? Amazing
Source - the documentary his family was involved in
...and it's usually like 25 mins...absurdly amazing... 😳🤔🥴
He can do em even faster, but there was a point where he was going too fast, and had to pad out the last few minutes with sticks and twigs and small details with the scrip liner. Although even then, those small details can really go a long way to further sell your painting.
I still watch him on tv WABC-HD on Saturday night's. I will always watch him. Love all his work.
Bob ross is the best
I love his teaching, he always makes me laugh. What a great guy. He doesn't bore me at all.
I like to think that those "falls" are actually full-sized, Niagra-types and the trees are the world's behemoths, able to crush a fleet of towns once felled.
I like what he did with those clouds to simulate streaks of sunlight. I've never seen that before.
I love these videos, they’re so helpful in making you not give up on art just because you’re not good yet
I can watch this guy alllllllllllllllll day.He is so relaxing.
One dislike.........really??? Bob is awesome
He has to beat him out his brush again maybe rhan he won't dislike no more
A happy little dislike :)
In the comments section for one of his youtube painting shows, some jerk called Bob a phony! Can you believe someone would do that? That p!ssed me off!
TheCockmeister Let's beat the devil out of that dislike.
MrRfd30529 😂😂😂
I watch him faithfully everyday and evening to relaxe
I followed one of bob tosses tutorials and wow they really aren’t that hard, sure I need a little more practice but he’s work shows that someone who’s barely ever painted can make something amazing and be in a happy state of mind while painting even if they stuff up
I can't paint, but I love watching him produce a masterpiece!❤🎉
They let you open the paint thinner and sniff it before buying? Sounds like something that changed with the times...
Rob is extremely soothing to watch. He also brings out one's creative side if you have a talent he helps to enhance it . He is truly amazing to me.
I love the way he words everything
Yes, Bob’s voice is calming, reassuring and happy.
Bob "just grab it and pull it" Ross 😂 what a legend he is/ still are
"Anytime you devote some time to practice, you haven't lost, you're always a winner" wise words from a wise man
Un gran tipo la verdad, en México es una leyenda, inspiración de jóvenes pintores y gente que ama la pintura, grandísimo Bob. ♥️
It's amazing, we'll never have anyone like him again, he just wants to have fun and share it with people; we miss you every day Bob Ross.
Yes. I watch because his voice is so soothing to fall asleep
