It’s odd that he admits his fathers a psychopath but still thinks he’s incapable of committing such a disturbing crime. He’s in denial for that deep love he has for his father but anyone in his shoes can’t surely say how’d they act only when they’ve lived through it. I do feel empathy and compassion for him since he lost his family completely. His grandfather, mother, baby brother and dad all gone. His reputation as-well along with his career. You look at him and he’s lost it all maybe this is the only thing he can grip on to .. to feel like he still has somewhat of control. I feel like behind the scenes maybe when he’s alone at night he’s a complete mess but he has mastered the keeping composure in public act.

My heart breaks for Buster. His father murdered his mother and brother, and now he is expected to side with the court and believe his own father is responsible. That is a hard thing to accept when it is your family and your father. I think it is natural for him to want to believe his father because he can't believe the idea that the man he has always trusted (his dad) and the man that raised him... how could he be capable of this? (In Buster's mind) I think the rest of us can easily see the truth, and most of us don't have the same personal relationship that Buster has always had with Alex. I think Buster is in a very heartbreaking case, and he truly wants to believe his dad. It would be too hard for him to fave the alternative or truth. I think we need to first understand that Buster didn't have anything to do with the evil his father carried out, and I feel it's important to understand that the trauma Buster is dealing with is unimaginable. Buster is the surviving family member, and he has been harassed simply because his dad carried out horrible murders. Let's try and remember that Buster had nothing to do with the murders, and likely isn't trying to cover up anything, but actually believes his father is innocent because that the truth Buster wants in his heart.

Buster Murdaugh is a copy of his convicted murderer father Alex Murdaugh. He has the same character as him. Moreover, this is why he says he is very proud of him. Paul Murdaugh was a copy of his mother Maggy Murdaugh, who was oppressed by her sociopath husband Alex Murdaugh. Paul and Maggy were what we call the weakest link in the family, and that's why sociopath Alex Murdaugh got rid of them and killed them. The Murdaughs don't tolerate 3 things: 1. NO, 2. QUESTIONS, and 3. BEING WEAK. This is why they have dominated South Carolina for over 100 years.

I really think he did it. But… not bc he’s evil. I think he intended to kill himself that night. But lost his nerve. I think he was a regular man. Who’s families privilege ran amuck and brought their downfall. I think he had the weight of that county on his shoulders and having to live up to his name. Then after the boat crash everything came crashing down for them. He was about to bury his parents, his son was about to be on trial, his wife about to leave him. I think he just wanted to leave and take them with him. I think he thought buster would be ok bc he was in law school and still had their name and his uncle to fall back on so I think he just planned to have one last good night with them and end it all. When he couldn’t do that he tried again when he tried to get eddy to do it. It’s no excuse. But that’s what I’m seeing.

South Carolina's Attorney General, Solicitor Duffie Stone and the courts, should be conducting more investigations, specially into that juror who, according to Becky "Boo" Hill's book, pages 58-60 got "thousands of dollars" from unnamed friends to stay on the jury instead of returning to work and getting replaced by an alternate.
Respectfully and succinctly, jury service (like voting) is NOT by conscription.
No one should be making money off voting or off jury service; nor should jury service be a paid vacation from a job.
The only possible non-corruptible (or less corruptible) way is some law for employers to grant employees paid leave for CONFIRMED jury service, which many civic-minded employers do anyway.
But what has happened here is WAY beyond the pale no matter how much lipstick is put on that pig.
Yes, you have to respond to a jury summons. But there are several mandatory and discretionary exemptions.
All that juror had to say at the initial jury selection OR as the trial went on was that jury service would impose a financial hardship on him.
Then that juror would have been excused from jury service to begin with OR he would have been replaced by an alternate. There were six alternates available. That is what alternates are for.
But for a juror to receive outside money, in the "thousands of dollars," from unknown people is unheard of, at least by me.
I regret that you do not see this as an issue at all; but I am shocked to my core that it happened and even more shocked that Becky "Boo" Hill bragged about it.

Well you know who isn’t worried about a killer coming after him? Alex because he was the killer! Buster should realize that if he is going to understand his own fear!

Omg what do you expect Buster to say? Do you think he’s going to put the nail in his fathers coffin anymore than it already is? Do you really think he’s going to turn on his own kind regardless of what he already knows is the truth? Clearly, his father is talking through his son because he can’t do it himself. This family has been crooked forever and a day and it’s not stopping with Buster. This interview is a total joke.

I agree with some of what you state, but since Buster now freely admits his Dad is a psychopath...maybe he's half-way there. Sometimes realizations don't show up 100%. I doubt Buster would've said this before his Dad's murder trial. But who knows...maybe this is somewhat of a "cover" for Buster. Maybe Buster was complicit in the murders of his Mom & brother...but I don't know if we'll ever know.

I felt so sorry for buster during the trial but with all the evidence he saw and he still think his dad is not guilty no i wouldnt want to think it either but he done it the evidence was very strong he killed paul because he couldnt pay all his lawyer fees and he killed his mom because he knew all the stealing would come out and she would give a divorce and he didnt want to her to face all that he made it look mallice so they wouldnt suspect him

Amazingly they never interviewed any of Paul’s or Busters online friends. Those Xbox live or PlayStation were always on and you could hear everything. I honestly believe it was Mallory’s father with the best alibi that wanted Paul dead. No way in hell was in Alex. I know the lies, but it wasn’t him. I know it’s hard for some to believe but it wasn’t Alex voice in the house that took the guns and shot Maggie and Paul.
