I planted a Ginko tree years ago. It was said to be very slow growing. Not this one. It took off and is still growing very quickly. I love Ginko trees, and am blessed by it.

What a lovely personality! The presentation is spontaneous, punctuated by engaging smiles and musical laughter, that I feel like I want to listen to her forever although she is just talking about Gingko Biloba. The best video presentation I've watched and I have watched thousands!! Love you ... from a grandmother in Malaysia

I bought four big bags of dry leaves online. So will have some tea for years.
I did read that if you drink too much of this tea it can cause bruises on the skin to be very slow to heal and go away. And this happened to me. I just bought this tea and was drinking it everyday and must have been drinking too much, as I got this bruise on my arm and it stayed there for about a week, which never happens for me. So I have cut back on the tea, yet thought with was an interesting event, so that is why I share it.
This tree is truly a 'one of the kind' and certainly a healing plant.

This is an extraordinarily well-done video...really remarkable. I've been using ginkgo for years as an herbalist but all of the trees on my property are boy trees. I've wanted to get a girl so the poor rascals aren't so lonely. Thank-you for the great information on the nuts. It's just what I was looking for. The leaves are, as you say, medicinal at any time but they get most potent just as they start to turn color in the early fall. That's when the medicinal flavonoid levels are highest. :0). God Bless you in your good work!

Let me tell you how thankful I am to the ginkgo tree about 5 years ago I was very dizzy and the tests the Dr ordered showed nothing, but I have a book about healing thru nutrition and in that I read a case where a women had severe case of dizziness and it was ginkgo biloba that healed her and I was so thankful to God that it also healed me I was able to come back to work after about 5 weeks of being dizzy I still take 1 cap a day as a maintence dose.please talk to your Dr before taking anything because ginkgo is anti Cougulant and if you are on aspirin,Coumadin or any other anti Cougulant you could have problems.

Yea PREPSTEADERS! Can't believe that fall is just around the corner and it's been a long, hot, confining summer! I don't have access to a gingko these days. I wish I did because I've never heard about roasting the fruit. I would certainly try that! They appear to resemble pistachios a bit when toasted. Yum! Keep up the good work! Double Blessings!

Ginkgo biloba can also have side effects. I started taking it years ago and after only a couple of days developed a red rash, hot to touch, it then spread to my torso, it was also itchy. I would recommend being very careful if you are going to take it.

Before anyone goes around picking these in parking lots or around the neighborhood, make sure they have not been sprayed, especially with Round Up (contains glyphosate) or you will harm your health.

Jeff Davis, it's nice of you to give folks the heads up to the evil toxin sprays such as the miserable Round-Up, but I've lived in New York City for 55 years, mostly in Manhattan, and I have never seen the city (park service) sprayed any kind of chemical on trees in city streets. The city doesn't care about the well-being of trees in the park or on the streets.

I went to college as a middle aged person and took ginkgo biloba with no bad side effects, 6 capsules a day, plus a diet of salmon and other fish, rice and good vegetables, little else. My grades were very good, the best I ever had. I managed to miss only a few classes and keep up studying. This, when fibromyalgia and brain fog had been overwhelming me with pain. I was clear as bell in my mind. I do thank you for these wonderful videos. Bless you.

I lived in Yamagata, Japan for a few years and these trees were everywhere! I love the yellow colour of the leaves in Autumn. One time, some coworkers at one of the schools i worked at offered me some nuts they had cooked up.
I always thought the name 'Ginko' sounded Japanese, but in Japan, people told me the trees were called "Icchou" (pronounced "ee-cho"). So then I figured the word 'Ginko' was the English word for the tree.
But it turns out it is actually related to the Japanese or Chinese word for the tree. Only, "Ginko" refers to the nuts themselves.
Anyway, there is a nice little row of Ginko trees near my home. I harvested the nuts once, but never got around to cooking them. I'd like to try again this year. Although I do think they smell a bit funky, I really wouldn't say it's anything like dog poop!

Hi. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I know in U. S most vegetables, fruits, nuts trees, every food and ginkgo biloba too are hybrid . Hybrid foods are not good for our health. I even afraid to order ginkgo biloba seeds to plant because I'm not sure it might be a hybrid. I messaged a few sellers on Etsy about their ginko biloba tree if they are hybrid but they didn't gave me clear respond. If somebody knows from where I can order non-hybrid ginkgo biloba seeds let me know please. Thank you in advance.

I found several trees around my city, all apparently male. I collected a zip lock baggie of yellow leaves and am frying them in a dehydrator. First batch took about 2 hours. Then powdered it and am gonna put them in a jar. Not sure what I’ll do - will need to strain if using for tea probably. There’s a sweet aroma - maybe kind of lemony. Having tea now.

How is your chamomile plant doing? I checked all the places here that sell plants and noone had any. The ones I grew from Baker Creek seed have not really done that well, I think it's going to take an act of God for me to get flowers on any of them this year, I've got plenty moringa though, I had to put the mall in the ground to keep them alive and they are thriving there, they were dying in the treepots. The Ginko is interesting, thanks.

From the litterature I found that the reported cases of poisoning happened from 7 nuts in young children, and from 40 in adults.
Which is why we see the number 7 and 40 coming up.
And these are the lowest amounts that caused intoxication. The article said in the recorded case, the nuts quantity ranged between 7 and 150 for kids and between 40 and 300 for adults.

Over the years, beliefs and practices are not passed on accurately, and sometimes things get misinterpreted. Testing them using scientific hypotheses are a good way to identify the truth in them.

Hello, I've learn so much about this tree and would love to own one. But I have a small land and live in a trailer. Their for, I have a septic tank. So I can plant it in the grown. I want to plant it in a large pot but worried that the roots could come threw and get to my septic tank. I really do need this plant for me and my children. They are all grown and I am 74 and want to stay healthy. Any advice?

Augustine, you might check to see what growing zone you live in. This grows well in zones 2-9.

hi, i do not drink things, just eat leaves straight from the tree, giraffe fashion, that seems to be o.k., i eat lots of it, maybe 10 medium size leaves or fewer big ones, what do you think? there taste not bad, pleasantly sour and little bitter.

Thank you for this amazing video. I bought this tree two years ago ( Lowe’s) for its beautiful leaves in the fall and so far it’s asexual😂 no fruit nor buds. Looking forward to trying to make some tea from it👍

Thank you again.

Question: Would this tree grow in the UK? Sometimes we get bad winters but hot summer's in England. I live just outside of London.
