You guys give me hope in growing my apothecary. So jealous of all your jars and labeling. It is amazing from when you first started it to what it has grown into. You are a blessing to us all . God is so good.
Years ago my VA aunt had a Ginkgo Biloba tree growing in her yard (Tidewater). She was growing it because she appeared to have the beginning stages of dementia...to my knowledge she never used it as tea or any any type of medication...sad because it might have helped her. It was a beautiful tree and the leaves were so interesting.
🤩OooooAhhh 💖 We have Ginkgo growing in our area ✨ Chinese settled here with the introduction of the railroads... I’ll bet Ginkgo came here along with them... 🤔 now where can I squeeze a Gingko tree in my already stuffed yard... 😂 Love seeing your growing library 📚
God gives us hints .Hawthorn berries looks like a tiny heart and that's what it's good for. Always look at all plants and it will you. You girls do a great job.
I did not realize this tree grows in the US... I love watching you two and learning so much... I'm usually a silent viewer but just thought I'd let yoy both know you are awesome💞and I appreciate you!

What a blessing to have beautiful ginko trees growing in your region! I haven’t tried ginko for many years, but now that I am older I am going to try it again, thank you for the reminder. I live in northern Alberta, Canada, and it is already so dark by 5 pm, and I find myself affected by the lack of daylight more as I get older. I’ve had success with lion’s mane mushrooms for brain fog, but I am going to try ginko as well. God bless!
Washington State has a petrified ginkgo forest. I hadn't thought to grow one because I have such a small yard. It seems like they are really hardy and used to grow here. I will pursue this more.
My son- in love and I have a couple in large pots in the Willamette Valley - fossilized Ginkgo (and dawn redwood!) Gabe been found over on the John Day fossil beds
I love ginkgo trees! When I lived in San Jose CA. There was a street near my home that had ginkgo on both sides for a couple of blocks. When the leaves were falling, I loved driving down that street. It was like being in a boat that created beautiful gold waves. I would love to be able to take ginkgo for the memory aspects, but I am one of those people who are naturally free-bleeding and tend to bruise whenever I even rub up against something.
@@TheHoneystead I have a HUGE rosemary plant, over 5x5, which I use all the time, both for cooking and just for smelling because it's so fragrant. And I'm dying to try lion's mane. I have a friend that forages and she just posted that she gathered a ton!
I was studying in China for a few month (supposedly a year but covid strikes) and have the opportunity to witness the majestic gingko tree turning yellow and shedding. Although it can be quite an annoyance when there is strong wind and the campus is literally packed with the tree everywhere, on every roadsides within the campus growing for what seems to be only somewhere like 30cm apart from each other.
I just love your channel! I learn so much from you both. Today’s word of the day “Ginkgo” I won’t be misspelling that word, ever!😂🤣 I’ve had ringing in my ears for years. I will be looking into GINKGO. ♥️🙏
Thank you for giving Ginkgo the love it deserves. When I was a kid we had a property here in Argentina with a 100 years old ginkgo in it, it was the best thing of the property, so majestic and beautifull. I was 7, and at my 40s I still remember it. Sadly the people who bought the house took it down, but made me love that ancient tree. I read that one of the reasons why it{s called "The tree of life", it´s because when Horoshima bombing happened, the only few trees that survived were Ginkgos.
This is good to know. I will soon be taking my parents in & caring for them. My father is struggling with dementia 😢. I will have to do research on this herb. Thank you for always sharing.
Aww... That's going to be awesome SoilSista! We took in a friend she passed away on her 108th birthday but it was such a huge blessing having her here with us to care for her... Beautiful blessings to you and your family @Rosa 🙏🏾
My Mom broke her leg and was given lots of drugs and then followed the “Virus” so her mind was not good. I gave her ginkgo three times a day (tincture) and her brain fog started to clear. It is essential for her and she is still using it. Nothing helps as much and we have tried a lot of others as well. I do understand it is a bit of a blood thinner so we keep that in mind.
As I was watching this, I’m getting ready to head out to the few ginkgo trees I discovered near my home. Spent a lot of the last 4 years dealing with memory issues from a procedure on a brain tumor (I wish I never had done). Supplements are too pricy and I’ve been moving towards building my own apothecary. Didn’t get a gingko tree in my yard this year like I wanted but foraging will hopefully hold me over until I get one next spring. Thank you both for sharing!

I was wondering the same. My husband has protein S deficiency as well and has been on blood thinners most of his life. We have always wanted to somehow get him off of them (safely of course) as his blood levels would change drastically with the increase in vegetable intake. Thank you, this is so interesting. Is it dry leaves you use for the tincture? I bought some gingko seeds a year ago, and am going to plant them this fall. I live in the middle of Sweden so there's snow and could be frost until mid-late May.
I saw a show once about supplements & Ginkgo was the worst "fake" supplement! I believe 9 out of 10 that they tested had none to very little Ginkgo in them. :(
I have a tree in my yard and I dug up a seedling and potted it in the early spring. It grew 4' over spring and summer. It's sweet little, bright yellow leaves just fell off and the big tree still has a plenty. Do you harvest the leaves when they are yellow or when they still have green on them? I really want to harvest some before it's too late, if it isn't already. Really guess I will need to research what to do with the harvest. I have only made a golden rod tincture so far, but really want to do more. Excited about your website and I really need a good starter book.
I found a place that carries the male ginkgo because it doesn't grow fruit which leaves a sticky mess (according to them) but does the male tree have all the medicinal properties? Does the fruit have any? Should I get both and if so where do I find the female tree?
I have a Ginkgo tree in my backyard. Wondering how you dry them out. Laying each leaf in one layer sounds daunting and I don't think I have the space to dry them that way. What am I missing?

can we use "vegan honey" for making tinctures ?
how do we use tinctures in creams and balms?

is there any special laws you need to worry about ?
is this a good business to get into ?
will we see your tinctures at CVS ,or Walmart any time soon ?
1. How long do you let it infuse?
2. Do you have to shake, and burp it.

Hello 👋 Beautiful lady 🌹, how are you doing today and your weather condition like?
Types of mushrooms are good for fixing and maintaining the brain 👍🏼🤠 not all are magic mushrooms either
Please inform me about this experimental arboretum. I'm in the SE and it sounds extremely interesting.
When do you pick the leaves for tincture? In the life of a leaf? Many thanks
Did I miss what the dosage is?
What are the options if your body does not tolerate alcohol?
How do you recommend using ginkgo biloba powder?
I haven’t used the powder, but maybe in capsules. I’m sure their is a dosage chart on powders.
I found a place that carries the male ginkgo because it doesn't grow fruit which leaves a sticky mess (according to them) but does the male tree have all the medicinal properties? Does the fruit have any? Should I get both and if so where do I find the female tree?
Which gender in the Ginko tree is stinky? I heard one of them was and one was not
The female ginkgo trees are stinky! We use the male!
What variety of Ginkgo tree do you recommend? There are many varieties
I have a Ginkgo tree in my backyard. Wondering how you dry them out. Laying each leaf in one layer sounds daunting and I don't think I have the space to dry them that way. What am I missing?
Thanks!!
How long should the tincture sit.?
