Yeah, but FIA was ordered to push another driver..... you know, the one claiming to be the first one from the working class. Even though Schumacher's father was a brick layer. And Alonso's father was a miner. While LH's father was an IT manager with a high salary. Some "working class"...
@@kahnbr you didn't know that? Compared to Michael and Fernando, Lewis came from the richest family. His dad was an IT manager. He was earning a lot. They invented a story that his dad "had 3 jobs in parallel". And later they even upgraded it to "4 jobs". I expect it to be "5 jobs" next year. But when you ask which were those jobs, there's no answer. Because it's just a story for the media. While MSC and Alonso really came from working class. Brick layer and miner. Doesn't go lower than that. But unlike LH, neither MSC nor Alonso found it tasteful to brag about it. However, the one who came from the upper middle class is constantly bragging about being from "working class". I guess to make himself look better.
@@cinegraphics In fairness to that story, karting is really expensive to do, like talking about over £200k a year. But you're right, Michael and Alonso had lower class background.
I'm 53, been watching this sport since the seventies, 40+ years... to my mind, Schumacher was the best. Absolutely the best.. Senna was the peoples champion, and rightly so, but Schumacher was so supremely talented that it's hard to argue with him being the greatest of all time... any weather condition, any tyre condition, if the car still moved he had it taped, even being stuck in 5th gear ffs... the rainmeister they called him... When Schumacher was in his prime, he could do anything, anything at all, he could do magic and often did. Keep battling Michael... we won't forget you...
John C but wuld have he won so many titles if it wasn’t for a servant barrichello holding other drivers during some races? remember that barrichello even let him pass just before the finish line one time. among the greatest for sure!
@@dkz00 That may be true to a point but all number one drivers on a team have a number two behind them that there job is to insure that the number one wins or scores a many points as possible.
John S schumi did have number 2s ONLY. i did the searching, not one name was decent. massa only went so far because he was less of a bitch than barrichello and schumi was trying to leave ferrari with another champion driver after he retired. prost-senna/senna-prost was a team of number 1s. there was also alonso-hamilton... btw, isn’t hamilton gonna conquer all the numbers schumi has?
@@dkz00 In fact, Rubinho had plenty of talent to go head to head with Schumi, Mika etc. Great examples are Donington 93 (in the third race of his career, he went from 12th to 4th in the first lap driving a Jordan) and Germany 2000. I think he needed to be more "tough", in the sense of imposing himself, saying: I know my potential and I will fight for my space. That was what Senna did at McLaren and there was no 1st or 2nd driver between him and Prost. It was the two of them fighting for every inch. Maybe Rubinho thought he could get around the situation. But Ferrari had already decided who would have priority
Gabriel Marcelo senna jumped 5-1 passing 3 world champions (schumi, hill and prost). rubens did nothing but overtake number 2s. and endend 10th. he was born to be schumi’s berger.

I'm tired of Senna's bootlicking fanboys whining about Schumacher. Senna won three titles with the finest machines McLaren could crank out on a massive sponsorship budget and STILL, Schumacher beat him several times with an inferior car in 1992. In fact, Senna didn't even finish third in the points despite three wins to Schumacher's single win.
The man Who concreted the Name Of Ferrari. In childhood whenever i heard about racing or ferrari the only name which came in mind was micheal Schumacher
@MrChiefB56 Well I think it's fairly reasonable, he covered 7 decades of motor racing (more than Sir Frank Williams by 17 years) starting back in 1919 and S.F. was already the most decorated racing team, it had 9 WDC and 8 WCC in F1 (with Williams stuck at 3 and 4 and McLaren at 5 and 3) plus all the other titles in the other racing series like the 12 titles in the World Sportscar Championship between 1953 and 1972, 9 victories at Le Mans and Sebring, 4 in Daytona, 7 at the Targa Florio and Mille Miglia, 2 Carrera Panamericana and won even in motorcycle racing between 1932 and 1934 with 3 national titles and 44 victories, plus his team had many important driversall this at that famous August 14th before the belgian GP, plus his team had many important drivers through the years.
Just saw the documentary Schumacher, I'm amazed when he switched to ferrari, he styed with mechanics until late to work on the car. HE DEVELOPED HIS FERRARI CAR! HE GAVE THE INPUTS AND SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS! Todays drivers are like, "is the car ready? No! See you later". No way anyone could me measured with Michael. Pure natural talent. Formula 1's Messi
Schumacher went from a team he won 2 titles in a row with, to a team that hadn't won in the sport for over 2 decades. 100% agree on the Spain 96 race. That car was dreadful. The critics were out saying Schumacher had made a mistake going there from a dominant Benetton team. But boy he silenced everyone there. The best driver I have had the privilege of seeing. Nobody now comes near. Keep fighting Michael.
Totally agree with you! Whatever happens in F1 and no matter how many talented and successful driver there are to come, Schumacher will forever be the hero in F1. Coming from family having no money to buy him into racing, it was his pure talent and his hard work. His determination and his technical and engineering knowhow where the keys, because is was so much involved in developing and tuning the cars, like no one before. People say, that he all the attention in the Ferrari team and that it wasnt fair, but it was Michaels success to bring Ferrari back to a wining team having a winning car. He took the risk anf joined Ferrari, when there was no success for many many years. He contributed his knowledge and formed a succesful team for many years. It was all his success. One of the biggest compliments I ever heard, came from Gerhard Berger. When Michael went to Ferrari, Gerhard joined Benetton and sat in Michaels car for his last season. Gerhard therfore was a very experienced driver and he once admitted, that he barley was able to control or tune this car. It was so hard to drive that he had to took his had off to Michael driving this car at the limit. We will never know, what 1999 would have been or what would have been, if he stayed just one more season. With all he was as driver, he was outstanding

So much of his career centred around Spa, his debut was there in 1991, his first win in F1 in 1992, (controversially) disqualified from winning in 1994, won from 16th on the grid in 1995, won by a country mile in 1997 thanks partly to an inspired decision to start the race on intermediate tyres as opposed to the rest of the field being on full wets, collided with David Coulthard in 1998 while trying to lap the latter (possibly a factor costing him the championship that year), beat Alain Prost's record of 51 wins by winning in 2001 and finally, securing what would be his seventh and last championship title there in 2004

I've been a Schumacher fan since I was a kid. I remember the moment when I found out that we share our birthday. What an honor, to share birthdays with my childhood hero. I can now only wish you a happy 50th birthday, Michael. The man shaped and revived Ferrari. They touched the heavens with a kind of success no one had ever seen before. Now, everytime we associate 'Ferrari' with the pinnacle of motorsport, with this powerful, legendary team, it is because of him. For what we're seeing now, and according to such big names as Ross Brown and Toto Wolff, he was crucial in laying the foundations of Mercedes' current success, the most dominant team in the last decade. His work ethic, absolute professionalism, perfectionism and atention to detail changed F1 forever. His amazing, incredible talent, pace, determination, commitment, competitiveness, pure desire to win, made him (as I read in another comment) the epitome of a champion. Those of us, who saw Schumi enter F1 and work his magic, including transforming the Ferrari team from a clown show with an occasional flash of brilliance to an unbeatable juggernaut, can consider ourselves lucky for having witnessed such motorsport greatness...sure Senna and Ham are also great, and I would have liked to see all three drivers pitted against each other on equal terms, but that can never happen, and we must consider each for the era and equipment and against the competitors they drove. All I can say is that I couldn't keep a dry eye while watching this, thinking of how many times he was at 18kPRM and 200mph, and lived, and shined, only to have that stupid accident while skiing... Incredible talent, fierce commitment, single minded focus on best result in any given situation and above all his love and passion for this sport is unmatched In 2006, his engine gave up while leading the race prior to finale in Brazil, robbing him of potential season victory. Everyone in his team was so dejected but he came to the paddock and was cheering them up. I was so shocked pleasantly ... in his final race year back then ... he was so unaffected by cruel luck. And then again in Brazil, had a puncture, dropped to last position and then had a drive of his life to finish 4th ... simply amazing. My favourite sportsman by miles

Michael Schumacher was one of my heroes and it’s so sad what happened to him because he is without doubt one of the greatest f1 drivers ever,I know he won his last 2 titles quite comfortably but the 97/98/99/00 seasons he shouldn’t have even been in contention really as the Williams in 97 and mclaren in 98/99/00 was a far superior car but that’s what he did,he won when he shouldn’t because he was an absolute master of getting every last thousandth of a second out of the car. Their number 4 moment, Schumacher’s win at Hungary in 1998, was the best race craft I’ve seen in my entire life. Brilliant call strategically from Ross Braun, and then what were essentially qualifying laps for almost the entire race from Schuey. I think he even had an off at one point, because he really was on the edge every single lap. McLaren were so ridiculously superior to everybody else at the beginning of that year. If my memory is correct, David Coulthard won the first race in Melbourne, by lapping every single car except his teammate, Mika Hakkinen. The devolopment of the Ferrari that year was nothing short of astonishing, and evidence of how Schumacher was the greatest, not only for what he could do on the track, but also for how he could develop a car and galvanize a team. I’m 17 years old, and Brazil 2006 was the first race I truly watched with my dad from start to finish. You can tell who my favorite driver was from that moment forward, and the devastation on 5 year old me’s face when I saw that he was retiring. To see him come back and race for Mercedes truly made me appreciate formula one again, however I’m still a huge Ferrari fan because of all of Michaels success there. Forza Ferrari, forza Michael ❤️
Well lets be fair. Lewis is a great driver. But's he not a schumacher. let's be realistic. Fact is, Fernando alonso was and is the most recent legend of the sport we have seen. Schumacher, for me is the all time biggest legend we have seen. Now we have Lewis... well he's an excellent driver. He's not a legend of the sport. He's never done anything incredible apart from giving up when things go against him. And the fact is, every driver on the grid are all excellent drivers. just like lewis. and would all win just like lewis in the machine lewis has. And Lewis will probably beat Shumachers records. but he will never ever be a legend because he's a quieter and has never been able to drive fast unless the car is fast. THis is what makes legends. Fast drivers in a bad car. Lewis... vettle also... excellent drivers. But not legends becasue they are only fast IF the car is fast. Legends... they make bad cars fast cars. That's what legends are made of.
@@martin3288 Senna done the same as schumacher. So you have to balance your views young man. Balance is key. Critical and emotionless thinking. you can't let personal feelings get the better of you. The best of the best, the likes of senna shumacher etc etc. they stopped at nothing to succeed. I respect that. But what makes them legends was their ability to drive anything. Look at alonso also. His win stats are not nearly as impressive as some others. But his status as a legend who can drive anything and drive it fast is established beyond question. Kimi could possibly come into the legends conversation also. and he's only won the title once.
DingBatDave lewis is also a legend he may not be an fan favorite but he will break all the records, if you don’t see him as a legend i find that very weird and i am not saying schumi and senna are not legends but you can’t say lewis ain’t a legend

I'm tired of Senna's bootlicking fanboys whining about Schumacher. In fact, Senna didn't even finish third in the points despite three wins to Schumacher's single win.

@MrChiefB56 i am just new in F1 i didnt knew anyone but always heard the name Of micheal Schumacher. I am glad that you replied to my comment
Michael was the greatest off all time. No one can ever match his greatness.

Seems like you began F1 2-3 years back lol . Those Netflix documentaries won't show you the gray area of his racing
Schumacher went from a team he won 2 titles in a row with, to a team that hadn't won in the sport for over 2 decades. He helped to build the foundations of that team over the next 3 years and then went on to dominate with that team for the next 5 years. He helped and was a crucial part in building their success.
He also came out of retirement and helped developed Mercedes into what they are now before Hamilton took the seat He was in. Brawn himself said Schumacher had an immense and crucial part to play in developing the car and team into what it was to dominate the sport with Hamilton at the wheel.

That's what happened when you have Schumacher and Ross Brawn in the same team
Keep fighting Michael, you will NEVER be forgotten!
The man who made me a formula one fan..The Greatest ever
Getting emotional seeing this. Have tears in my eyes writing this. Thank you Schumi for this magic moments of brilliance! I am still a huge fan of you and your lifetime achievement. For me you are the GOAT taking 2 Teams from midfield to top and become 7 time World Champion! I hope you will get better. Keep fighting!
Incredible talent, fierce commitment, single minded focus on best result in any given situation and above all his love and passion for this sport is unmatched
In 2006, his engine gave up while leading the race prior to finale in Brazil, robbing him of potential season victory.

@It doesn’t matter What your name is Schumacher had already outscored Senna by 1992 amd would've still beat hin to the title in 95 for sure

being stuck in 5th gear in those cars wasnt a big problem, today he would have finished last
MIchael Schumacher was the fittest driver ever. I remember the podium of the 1999 Malaysian GP. The face of Eddie Irvine was as red as his overall, Mika Häkkinen was close to collapse and Schumacher was standing there smiling (and not even sweating). Unbelievable
He took driver's to a whole new level. People sneer at his comeback in the Benz, but don't realise he was responsible for the others drivers being so much better, he raised the game level. Drivers today don't even look like they just had a race they are so damn fit now.
There is a rumour his dog wasn't allowed to go running with him due to exhaustion for the dog!
That's because he introduced fitness to Formula 1... He loves to train before he starts racing and his fitness legacy lives on!
My biggest hero ever 😎
Thank you for alle the great memories!!
#keepfightingmichael
Thank God there is no shitty comments here, he was a great driver nonetheless
He's an undisputed driver. There's a lot of rain performance superhuman. It is also unique in history with the feature of developing the team. If I were a team boss, I wouldn't think about a pilot for 1 second except this guy.
Thank you Michael, for everything. Also for terrific struggles with Mika.
Agree!
My all time greatest hero. I started watching f1 when he signed for Benetton. Then he went to give us a decade of excellence. My greatest memory was his win in Hungary. What a turn around. The Maclarens were way ahead till he switched strategy and then those 15 or so Hot laps with Murray Walker screaming : "I can believe it Martin, Schumacher is going faster and faster" So many great memories. An inspiration. I wish you well Michael.
@F ten Stay ignorant.
@Ryan ..wtf?!!!!
Where are you from?
GOAT, brother!
You can say what you like about Michael Schumacher, people call him a cheat but all he did was attack and defend aggressively, which if you look back through the history of f1 they all did it from fangio, Clark, senna,Prost it’s called racing, look at other motorsports where they constantly barge each other off the track like touring cars or the gt series. If Lewis Hamilton beats all his records which could happen,I still believe in the same car there’s no one to touch Schumacher,he’d wipe the floor with all of them...keep fighting Michael 🤞👍
Well Said.
Contact makes F1 fun. It can ruin both of their races. Look at Max vs Leclerc in Silverstone,so much contact yet the excitement overwhelmed everyone
Traction control, launch control , illegal fuel rigs, ramming poeople of the track plus loads we dont even know. He was a cheat to say the least.

Watching this man at work was nothing short of an honour. GOAT. Childhood hero.
Schumacher was the greatest F1 driver. He started with nothing and his determination made him a champion.
As a brazilian I have no personal reason to say this, but he is the best of all, unquestionably. Every great driver had masterful performances and victories, but Michael was only one of the very few that accepted a real challenge, in this case, to go to Ferrari with a much inferior equipment. Bravo, really, bravo.
Thank you for your honesty. Stay health.
never been a huge fan of michael, but this video reminds me why he is the GOAT for most people. nice.
I was a Mika Fan back in the day but when Michael showed up for the second leg of his career I wanted to see him win soooo badly.
Michael Schumacher the greatest Formula One driver! I have been following his career since the late 90s, when I was a child, I always supported him. It is unfortunate that such a misfortune happened to him. For me, he will forever remain the greatest. Red Baron, miss you.
Goosebumps and tears in my eyes.
Only pictures of Schumi driving can cause this.
Schumi was a outstanding Driver, always at the limit. But what him made so special is that he was also an awesome mechanic with technical understanding. He pushed every Team to the best with his knowhow. If he hasn't that accident in 2013, he surely would be an excellent Team Manager yet.
A simple Word is Needed to describing this man = GOAT🐐
Even if Hamilton wins 8, 9 or even 10 WDS, he will not beat Schumacher's greatness. Cos greatness alone is not defined by the number of championships you have.
Agree!
Imagine if Schumacher moved to Williams in 1996
He’d have won 4 straight titles before 1998 even starts. Who knows what would happen from there, he legit had the talent for 8-9 titles, it’s utterly insane
Until someone takes a team from mediocrity to dominating for years shumacher will always be the best
Schumacher is legendary but senna is the 🐐
Hammy boy is an opportunist. Just wait until the Mercedes becomes a bit of a dog. He'll flee to the team with the fastest car.
That performance in Hungary was was the absolute epitome of the brilliance of Ross Brawn and Michael Schumacher. I’m so thankful to have witnessed it.
I was knocked of my seat that day watching what was happening. It was genius. I had never seen such a strategy.
The greatest ever.
Don't forget France 2004 when they did four stops to beat Renault.
Watching Schuey drive still gets my heart racing. ❤
the best ever...best in qualifing, best in race, best on single lap, best to prepare the car...absolutely incomparable..
Even if Hamilton wins 10 titles he will never be on Michaels level
he would if he switched to a crap car that takes 3-4 years to become competitive :)
@@marcopoloplanner8843 we both know he's not gonna do that. Don't get me wrong if he starts driving for ferrari I'd like nothing more than to see him win more titles but as for now I don't see him in the top 5, maybe top 10 at a push. The competition in michaels era was probably at the highest standard its ever been
@@stooby267 he won't do that for sure. I think Schumacher was moved by money and of course by the challenge and the opportunity to show he was the greatest of all time. He took a bit of a gamble career wise (not financially) and it paid off. That pass of Alesi was ridiculous. Even 1 car could hardly squeeze through that chicane. And that wet race in 1996 in the rain was out of this world. In 1994 he was a complete nightmare to Williams.

Driver's factor is much lesser in f1 today but can't deny that Lewis and Fenando are 2 top drivers of this generation after Schumacher era ended in 2006. Max, Leclerc and Russell are future top drivers.
Hamilton broke the record, but Schumacher will always be the champion! And now the legend!
The truth about Schumacher needing his teammates to sign #2 driver contracts so they weren't allowed to beat compete against him on a level playing field had been leaked. His whole first career is based in a lie:
"At the time I handled people like Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine, Giancarlo Fisichella and Jean Alesi, and every time we went to sign a contract with Michael Schumacher or Ferrari it always had conditions in it" - Eddie Jordon.
"Whether I signed with Eddie Irvine, Rubens Barrichello or whoever they were - there was a clause there that they always had to play second-fiddle to Michael Schumacher.' Eddie Jordan
"I had an opportunity to go to Ferrari but the contract that was offered by Jean was that if Michael was 5th and I was 4th, I had to move over, and, if I was 1st and he was 2nd, I had to move over.I couldn't sign a contract that committed me to being a #2" - David Coulthard.
"Ferrari, the contract that was offered effectively made me, on paper, number two to Michael. I've no doubt that Michael was the stronger driver out of the two because I recognise he was a better overall package than I was but at that stage of my career, I just couldn't accept signing a number two contract and that's why I decided to sign at McLaren and I think that was the right decision for my career." David Coulthard.
Silverstone 2021: "Okay Valtteri, we invert the cars into turn 15 this lap"
I think it's pretty clear who signed what in Mercedes and how LH won that race (and many others).
He should kiss Valtteri's shoes.
@@cinegraphics Schumacher had the same contract with the likes of Alesi, Irvine, and Barrichello. Unlike Hamilton however he treated the guys who were working with and for him as coworkers compatriots and friends and not as disposable lackeys.
@@MT-pv2rf Sorry to break it to you bud, Hamilton likely did the very same thing Schumacher did. Not with Alesi, Irvine, and Barrichello but with Bottas.
@@zeinmets3550 actually, Bottas did much worse things to ensure LH winning some of the races. Including hitting other drivers to stop them, or pretending his car has died on the track, in order to deploy the safety car, so LH can catch up with the leading drivers. I don't remember Irvine or Barichello doing any of that.

When you have a mechanical engineering genius behind the wheel... im feeling privileged that i was able to see him alive and on tv performing some of the greatest driving moments.
Michael Schumacher is thee most brilliant Formula 1 driver that I have ever watched.....
One of the things that made Michael so great was his dynamic ways of completing races, and winning them, tackling so many variables that would leave most drivers of today in the rear. He handled challenges better than anyone I’ve seen drive a race car ever
Drivers today moan to much instead of getting on with it, slow pit stop poor qualifying or get told to do another strategy and complain it couldn’t work

Prime Lewis Hamilton wouldn’t hold a candle to this man is his prime.
Never compare a legend (Michael) to a peasant. 😂

Look at alonso also. His win stats are not nearly as impressive as some others. But his status as a legend who can drive anything and drive it fast is established beyond question. Kimi could possibly come into the legends conversation also. and he's only won the title once.
