It looks like that hourly rate makes for a lot more relaxed "Hurry up and wait" experience than those operating on a mile rate.
A lot of people don't understand that giving workers from other departments or other companies goes a long way to making your life much easier.
I had locations in New England that had a 8:00AM official start time. There were a few employees that came in at 6:00 AM that said they would take my load early. Doughnuts to the rescue. In and out before 6:30AM and back on the road back home.

A emergency repair on radiator fan blades, is to remove close to the same amount of material on the opposing blade. Keeps the fan balanced and doesn't send it through a $2,500 radiator.

The U turn made my day!
Was on a tour bus in Austria. Driver made a U-turn in the middle of the block! Full traffic! His reply "they'll (other vehicles) stop! We're BIGGER!".
That's where the donuts come in handy for bribes to operators to scrape your truck and pony out.....😮

Happy Birthday. I saw on the video that the bottom was red with rust. Rust binds the soil so that it does not slide so easily. When the dump truck is left unused for several days, rust will form on the metal. A preventive treatment with anti-rust oil spray, which could be diluted waste oil, could prevent rust and save time when emptying the dumper. So if you know that the dumper will be standing for a few days, you could spray it so that it does not corrode on metal.

We have a big construction project going here in Buffalo Wyoming they have the highway where their trucks and stuff are coming out is like a mud hole from all the dirt they're bringing out of the construction site on the highway😂😂

I got rear-ended in rush hour traffic, and the guy who hit me isn't talking responsibility because he thinks the guy who hit him from behind is at fault for all of it, and that guy didn't own the car and had no insurance. In an accident like this you go after the guy that hit you, and they go after the other person who hit them for the cost for their car and yours.

Happy Birthday. Fan in Texas from Olympia. Class A CDL out of Bates in south Tacoma. Horrible drivers everywhere. You have to pay attention on the roads constantly, everywhere now. The good thing is, if anyone runs into you, trailer or not, you will probably not feel much. Why are you giving donuts out on your Birthday? They should be giving you stuff. Out of Olympia. Freaking raining all the time. Must be a cool year raining this time of year. Rained on the 4th of July last year I think in Olympia, or the year before. I don't remember the last time that happened in 20+ years. Weather has been changing that's for sure. Be ready for crazy weather all over the place. In Washington the weather forecast has been 50/50. Since I was a child. Toss a coin and you can probably out gamble the weather channel out of Washington. Don't ever rely on the weather news in Washington.

I had that happen to me on the LIE in NY. stopped in traffic and a girl ran into the back of my tank trailer. Trailer fine, car totaled. Did all the paperwork and a month later the company said she claims you rolled back into her. Always something.

I know the story, when I was first in Construction a couple years, the company I was working for , they were building houses in my subdivision , and they sent me down south about 45min. away, asked about it, got the usual run around, then laid off. Life in Construction.

You're right about getting the police involved in that accident. I knew a truck driver that was in an incident like you and he let the driver go since he didnt damage his truck. About a month later his company gets a claim against them for that accident. He regretted having done that.

The company I work for puts 1 piece plastic liners in all of their dump boxes. They work amazingly well to extend the life of your box & keep shit from sticking.
Happy Birthday!! Those days when it’s sprinkles and the material is dry, not fun. Still wouldn’t want to do anything else though. I love it too!! Love how almost every other truck is a T800. Here there might be 1 in the whole city. Everything else is old and worn out. Hard to have nice trucks for $85/hr
