Please I love to joined your organisation there, am hardworking person and flexible trustworthy and reliable ready to learn more, I have 3yrs driving experience, but no work, please help me with job I appreciate it🙏
I am a retired locomotive engineer off of Union Pacific Railroad (UP) in Seattle. That mud gets loaded into gondolas by Waste Management (WM), then UP hauls them to a huge landfill in Gilliam, Oregon where WM unloads them. Those cars get REALLY heavy if the dirt is saturated; WM has to fill them only about halfway otherwise there is a danger of the car frame bending and cracking.
It looks more like topsoil than goo, someone probably didn't have a tight tailgate at some time and lost part of their load on the highway, hense the tail locks rule. Have you ever had to line the bed with poly sheeting before loading contaminated dirt?
I really enjoy riding along with you. You make everything you are doing that day so interesting that it is fun to watch. Oh, by the way I hope it isn't too late HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to you. Hope your day at the end was great.
Huh. I'm fairly certain I recognized the scenery on part of the route coming out of the load site. I'm 99% certain I drove right through there about 15-20 years ago during my own trucking days. Used to run a lot of Costco loads in and out the Seattle-Tacoma area, mostly dry vans in and intermodals out. Doesn't look like it's changed much at all. Bit surprised I even remember it, but then again, there were some pretty, um, _memorable_ events involved. I was limping a busted truck that was screwing up for about the eighth time with the same issue, and it was the only time I EVER got a thank-you-gram from the company I was driving for at the time, after I managed to get the entire load delivered to three different Costco stores in the SeaTac area only slightly late despite limping a busted truck, and having to stop and refill the leaking coolant every couple of hours. And then I spent three days getting it fixed yet again. Followed by making it back home just as the same issue reoccurred yet AGAIN, and our shop foreman and the company owner both hit the roof with Cummins, making quite a few very irate phone calls. Which resulted in the local Cummins place doing a rush job on fixing it, supposedly PROPERLY this time. Yeah, well, plot twist...They did fix the issue once and for all, but they didn't do it _properly_ at all. Apparently they did such a rush job that they managed to get a bunch of metal shavings into the oil system, because they didn't take proper measures to cover or protect other parts while they had the engine apart working on it. So I get clear across the country into Virginia on my next trip, and the engine literally blows up from basically having a bunch of shrapnel in the oil pan the whole trip. Right in front of a chicken coop, no less. The truck ended up getting towed into Baltimore, requiring a complete rebuild or replacement of the engine, and you can imagine where things went from there. But hey, that's truckin', right?
I'm from your neck of the woods (SnoHo), but I'm out of state for a year for work. Watching your videos reminds me of home. Thanks for the work you do, and thanks for the videos.
So I been subscribed and watching for a few years... This is my favorite video to date... you look happier than I can remember!!!! and you always look very happy. I wish I could be a dump truck driver!
I don’t miss driving in those areas especially the Georgetown or SODO area, I work for the railroad and I worked all over that area and between Tacoma all the way up to Bellingham then I transferred to Ellensburg.
I watched the roads you were on and recognized a lot of them from my years of running the northwest from Kansas City area. I also smiled listening to your cat exhaust
Just in case no one told you, you’re not supposed to wear your headset on your left ear only on your right ear. That way you can hear emergency apparatus coming up behind you or in front of you or beside that’s the reason for this. It is a DOT LAW
I used to haul dirty dirt mainly from old gas stations from the tanks leaking for years. Took it to Maine where it was burned and recycled for landfill cover.
I'm not to sure if you go cross country for camping but there is a really good place in York County Pa called Codorus State Park, it's got a really big lake with sail boats and everything, you have to check it out....great people good times we go here yearly and I absolutely love it there. Love your videos!
I found out about your channel from FSC TRUCKING. So I decided to watch your channel and see what it was about. I was fascinated by your setup, the dump truck and a trailer! I don't think I have ever seen that type of setup on the east coast. Could you show us the levers or knobs between the seats that work the hydraulics to raise and lower the boxes? Some info about the workings of the truck would be interesting. Also, I had never heard of Chomps before this video. I just recently saw them for sale in Walmart so I bought a bag. They only had 2 flavors and I bought the turkey and they are actually good. I thought they were a bit expensive but doing a little math and they are in the same price range as the other meat sticks but the chomps don't have any of the nasty greasy stuff that you will find in the other brands. I must say that I do enjoy your channel.
Mud locks = Slurry locks. If you screw them down real tight when empty then can be a real PIA to unscrew once the weight of the load is pressing against the tailgate - What is your legal GVWR and how many tons can you load in your setup ?
The company im with cleans that wheel wash and the storm system they have there every quarter, that water runnoff you were talking about always makes a mess after you've been driving through it all day
Just wondering if the dump box gets washed out at some point. I mean if the stuff you're hauling is toxic, I wouldn't want you hauling a load say of topsoil for my lawn if it's not cleaned out first.
Dauminique, Looking at the amount of material you load, here in the New York area that would be considered a half load, most of the trucks are 12 or like 22 wheelers filled to the boards
So if you are hauling contaminated soil, why didn't you use your tarps to keep it contained? I know its wet, but still the tarps would keep the tiny particles from flying out.
She said it was runoff from a parking lot so it's "contaminated" with any oil that might drip from the cars in the lot and get washed away by the rain. The highways are already loaded with oil from cars. It sounds like the state of Washington is extra conservative about it like California.
Years ago. When dirty dirt or asbestos had to be hauled from Ma to Maine to a landfill. The load was diapered and had warning signs . When you crossed the state line. You could take off the placards.Problem is the company would follow the hired trucks. If they took off placards before crossing state lines.I think they were filmed and fired.
I hauler contaminated earth from the old Bangor Hydro HQ in Bangor, Maine to Juniper Ridge landfill in Alton, Maine back in 2017...hated every minute of it because Alton is my home town.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video and I'm always amazed at how you manage to handle 18 gears on a dump truck no different that the truck on the 18 wheeler same amount of gears
I've hauled "Dirty Dirt" a few times myself here in PA, years ago. I had to take it to a place across the border into Ohio, to huge incinerator. With regulations the way they are these days, I wonder if it even still exists lol. I had to "sneak" it in, because my boss didn't have apportioned plates - but it paid so well, I wasn't allowed to say no.
Good afternoon, I'm just wondering if there will be a follow-up elaborating on the circumstances of Bobby crashing the dump truck. I love your content. Keep it up.
Saw the title and figured you were going to take it to the cement plant I used to work at down on the Duwamish. Guess not. I wonder if that WM facility just takes it over to the plant as it gets put into the kiln there and burned up at high temp.
Hey nikki good to see you,, hurry up and wait ,thats about it most of the time, seems like your truck is behaving pretty good after all the repairs keep those fingers crossed!!
Hi I'm new on your channel and it's very interesting what are you sharing with us. I'm from South Florida and I own a triaxle dump truck. Do you guys do only doubles over there?
Another fine vlog. D., I think your trucking gig is interesting, as you do various jobs in interesting and different locations. I’ve never met anybody in Seattle that loads me that light! Just because it’s wet. lol If I get 6 inches of sideboard, If im lucky. Keep up your videos. They help all the people that don’t know what they’re doing.
Every time I've gone west I see these and doubles even Rocky mountain doubles... Always wonder why we don't do this on east coast... During hurricane clean up can load truck and trailer 20 loads instead of 10... They talk a lack of trucks... Wouldn't that help? You all can carry what 100k I think to right? Don't know if ever posted that every time I see one of these always think this. Love the videos my got family just south of Seattle.. we'll have to hit road again 2hrs left. You know the Boston trucker would be putting tire shine after pulling out that place lol
