@@lechking941 There is a summon skeleton book not far from whiterun I can't remember exactly where I think the ritual stone. Costs 90 Magicka so as long as you aren't tired you can level conjuration with any race
A bit late to be relevant but you actually could’ve started with a conjuration spell by starting as a Breton. They always start with the conjure familiar spell, which could’ve made the beginning a bit faster The different races all have different attributes, both with survival off and extra ones with it on, like some having different spells, powers, passive abilities, and survival skills like how Argonians and Khajiit are resistant to eating raw food while other races can get sick from it
Dude, what a hustle 😂 congrats on the patience! Some minor tips: 1. Bretons start with conjure familiar 2. You should get Spellbreaker, as it has a ward that protects against spells 3. You definitely should use the conjure dremora (?) lords 4. If you didn't want to level smithing and enchantment, you really should boost alteration, at least to combo it with your armor. You were dying too often 5. You really should use a lot of restoration spells. Congrats on the playthrough, though! I play Skyrim since 2013, love this game
Did you know that in Bleak Falls Barrow, there are actually 3 chests in the Overlord room? One on the right side of the word wall up some rocks, one near the Overlord, and one to the left, beyond the waterfall. They're both leveled chests I think, so they might not have *the best* loot and rewards, but it's still more stuff!
I kinda wonder how you were originally expecting the damage of your summons to do especially considering that anyone that isn't the player character is not affected by the difficulty on another side note that thing with Alduin at the end isn't a glitch, Alduin is a protected npc so that only damage dealt by you can kill him
I feel like Ulfric is just having fun picking on you calling you ridiculous names. Pretty soon he’s just gonna call you something like Frost-Troll Skeever-Butt
Not sure if this would have broken your rules; but, a torch can be equipped to the left hand. It has a weak block, deals mild fire damage, and provides warmth on survival.
I did in fact fall asleep while watching it. Watching again today, I just want to let you know that Alduin can *only* be killed by the player. The summons and npcs can get him down to 1 hp, but the player has to damage him in some way to actually kill him and beat the game
I'm only a couple minutes in so if you figure this out later in the video, I apologize. From my understanding of how Skyrim's difficulty system works, it only affects damage DIRECTLY ON OR CAUSED BY the player. I know it doesn't affect followers and I would assume it doesn't affect summons. So a summons only run would effectively be the same on any difficulty as far as damage dealing goes. So I suppose that makes the real challenge here not getting one-shot yourself while the summon does her thing and dealing with managing survival mode. I look forward to seeing how you fare. PS I enjoyed your Where's Willow minigame.
Glad you enjoyed the minigame, I didn't know that going in but still was a challenging run for me and hopefully was an entertaining romp for people to watch. :D
I was looking for Skyrim challenges to watch and felt like I had to watch this one because My name is Willow too!! Im excited to watch more of you videos :)
If you’re thinking about doing a necromancy only run, I recommend getting the Necromancer’s Amulet (can be obtained during the quest “Blood on the Ice” in Windhelm.) It grants you 50 xtra magicka and reduces the cost of conjuration spells by 25%. Just keep in mind it also affects your health and stamina regen.
Liked the video but I have 2 small criticisms 1: you said you won’t use glitches or exploits but the soul trap on a dead body is definitely an exploit/ glitch and it enabled you to speed run the conjuration skill making you stronger then you should have been kinda ruining the spirit of the challenge 2: technically at the end alduin has to be killed by a source of damage directly from the player this isn’t a glitch it’s a feature, while I agree this shouldn’t invalidate the whole run it could have been a fun mention because this feature “failed” many other peoples challenge runs
I don't see it as a glitch or exploit personally. It's programmed into the game to work that way. A glitch or exploit in my opinion is something the devs didn't intend.
@@WillowPlaysGames an exploit is something that is possible in the game but (programmed into it) but gives an unfair advantage and I doubt the devs intended for you to be able to reach max conjuration by just standing over a dead body for an hr or two as that’s obviously not what conjuration is about
I'd consider the dawnstar chest to be an exploit, that's kind of my bar. sitting somewhere for hours doing something tedious isn't really an exploit imo. If it were then making 1000 iron daggers to level up blacksmithing is pretty much an exploit as well.
@@WillowPlaysGames Yeah 100% dawnstar chest is definitely an exploit. it’s literally just missing collision and it’s out of bounds. making 1000 dangers should level up your blacksmith skill since you are smithing something but the issue is how is “trapping” the soul of a dead corpse that shouldn’t have a soul inside it anymore considered conjuration as you are not conjuring anything? Soul trap shouldn’t canonically work on corpses since with the spell you are trying to capture the soul before it leaves to whichever after life it’s going to and once it’s left there shouldn’t be anything to capture, the only reason it does give XP is because the devs don’t distinguish between using it on a living or a dead NPC in the code making it an exploit in my opinion.
The "Where's Willow" segments has to be one of the best ideas I've ever seen for spicing up a waiting montage! Missed the first one in round 2, otherwise got them all :D
If you do end up doing a Necromancer playthrough, I recommend using the Anniversary Edition for the added undead summons. That way you can get Skeletons and Zombies as summons instead of having to break rules to get corpses where there aren’t any
I tend to go with Hadvar, no matter which side I take in the civil war. For a very simple reason: Joining him and following him to Riverwood means you'll be a friend with the blacksmith and that in turn means you can take stuff from his house. Including respawning iron and steel ingots at the forge.
I didn't have the aniversary version of the game when I did this run, was running skyrim special edition using steam family share and it wasn't upgraded yet. next run I will have anniversary edition.
There’s also a player home added in the Annivesary Edition called Gallow’s Hall that’s perfect for role-playing as a necromancer. It even has its own bone forge and you get the Staff of Worms which allows you reanimate a dead body to fight for you *permanently* (until they get killed). I used it on a Draugr Deathlord. Can confirm it works on pretty high level enemies.
I saw you three times, it was only because I had died in skyrim and then looked directly at the video the whole time where I had full concentration during this video
Okay the second time it was only once but I must continue to look now for each time the bit happens to help this bit become more regular since I thought it was great
The fact you did this without "conjure demora lord" is crazy. Need 75 conjugation and to complete a quest at the college but they are so overpowered it makes everything so easy.
I've done this on the hardest difficulty but NOT with survival. Personally I don't like survival. You got me there. Just an FYI, legendary difficulty is the best for this kind of challenge. Summons get the buff from difficulty that enemies do so they take reduced damage on legendary. On the easiest difficulty a lot of summons die in 1-2 hits for the same reason, they take more damage from the difficulty scaling.
The sheer quality of these vids are insane to me Like your vids kept pooping up in my recommended and I was baffled both by how you haven’t exploded and how I wasn’t subscribed yet. Fixed that second problem though, keep it up dude!
I started with Nord because of the cold and warmth system of survival. I'm glad I did since it became a regular issue and I would of hated it being worse than it already is.
Something that can help with a run like this is you can get a staff of summon Storm Atronachs at lvl 1. Just get a broom, greater soul gem (empty or filled), orichalcum (ingot or ore), and void salt. Then go to the atronach forge under the college of winterhold and combine them. Just like that, you have one of the most powerful summons in the game at level one that you can use for no magica. Also, the summoning range on the staff is insanely high, you can put it really far away.
you actually made this more difficult than you had to lol. i love legendary survival but the early game is brutal, i spend forever in riverwood and whiterun doing boring stuff levelling in safety then get a follower and summoned whatever then do a bunch of quests that make people follow you till the end of their quest then don't finish the quests, you can build up a small army, that wouldn't have worked in this run obviously and a bit of a tangent but further to my original sentence, more sneak would have helped you a lot but seeing how long you relied on just a flame atronach and just ran around everywhere doing everything available to you like an alpha chad, very impressive, i would have cried.
Avoid the Elder Scrolls Wiki when you can. It can be inaccurate. The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages (UESP) is the definitive TES wiki and was even owned by Bethesda themselves originally.
during the jagged crown quest i did the very same thing after spending a good hour looking around expecting a more obvious spot until i searched up how to do it
I'll sprinkle them in but I'm going back to fallout for a few, don't have the game knowledge to easily throw together a Skyrim run as quickly. I did a 60 hour fallout run in 10 days, this 30 hour Skyrim one took me 2 weeks cause I had to do so much more research and create new assets for editing.
I thought about that but decided against it because the cold system, Nords are stronger against the cold debuff and it's easily the most difficult one to handle! ^^

Ngl this channel is super cool i started watching it a few days ago and its kept me from boredom from my summer so far aslo the wheres willow parts are super funny 😊
I suggest a run using Wildlander modlist since it's a pretty hardcore survival experience. You can even turn it into a series of some kind. Did not see many youtubers covering this modlist yet
for your necromancer run since you don't use enchantment you should solve the murder case at Windhelm to get the necromancer amulet. Buying some good conjuration robes and hoodes at the college of winterhold might help too if you lack magicka. The quest of the dwemer museum in Markath also provide you with early dwarven armor. The quest boethia's calling that you get at boethia's statue provide you with the ebony mail, a free set of heavy armor. Also even if you don't use block having a shield in your hand give you +100 armor+the shield's armor rate. Dual casting summoning spells is not super useful so you may as well carry one. If you have the dragonborn DLC going to solstheim and doing nelioth's quest give you access to his staff enchanter. With it you can make a staff of summon dremora lord. Very good if you lack the magicka. You should regularly check vandors see if they have good stuff.

My favorite summon is exploding familiar. Same familiar but when it gets hit it blows up, so fun! 5he best part is its cheap enough for a non-mage to cast a time or two.
On the second mini game, i found you on the third one again, but this time i actually saw you because your back drop was the light colored sky and the outline of your head was pretty obvious lol i think the mini game is a clever idea.
33:45 the storm thrall is actually weaker than a regular storm Stronach. It's only convenience is that you don't have to re-summon it. But because of npc pathing you probably will anyway for better positioning.
I tend to use a lot of summons, my most common character is a small elf. Because I just find it amusing that the hero everyone waits for to save them turn out to be a tiny elf with sticky fingers. I also use mods, one that makes it so that after an intense fight I end up with cuts, bruises, broken limbs as such so those summons are a life saver. I prefer to use Dremora Lords as soon as I can, but they are an expert level spell. When they have wiped out the enemies they come back to stand next to their master: Oh and one of the things they often say to the enemy is "I honor my Master by destroying you" If playing on survival bring torches, using one will give you few more minutes before freezing to death and cook with fire salt.
Love the game and music. Please, more of that. Also, you might want to edit the name a little. So many other willows, if someone tells their friend about you (which happened to me), took some time to get to you.
glad you persevered to find me, and honestly, I don't think the name matters. Willow is a common name but realistically if someone wants to share my content then grabbing a link isn't difficult. Oh, I've never beaten Skyrim either. I always kinda get bored before I finish the main quest line. Then I wander off and do sidequests or start a new playthrough or whatever.
I didn't actually like skyrim much when I started this run, before I had always found it boring personally. by the end I figured out it's appeal and I like it.
Surprised you didn't go for a Breton character instead. They start with conjure familiar spell and their magic resistance is almost op
I've explained this a dozen times but I went nord because I was afraid of the cold mechanic, considering how the run went with me freezing to death a bunch.
@@WillowPlaysGamesthe kajeit also get some cold resistance. but i got the campign mod for my temp controll. i suspect though it dont entirly work with the camping mod still trying to learn though
@@lechking941 There is a summon skeleton book not far from whiterun I can't remember exactly where I think the ritual stone. Costs 90 Magicka so as long as you aren't tired you can level conjuration with any race
@@lechking941 How did you butcher Khajiit that bad?
You knew what they meant. Thats all that matters @gorgeousfreeman1318
A bit late to be relevant but you actually could’ve started with a conjuration spell by starting as a Breton. They always start with the conjure familiar spell, which could’ve made the beginning a bit faster
The different races all have different attributes, both with survival off and extra ones with it on, like some having different spells, powers, passive abilities, and survival skills like how Argonians and Khajiit are resistant to eating raw food while other races can get sick from it
The Wheres willow segment of the videos were such a unique way to spice things up!
glad you think so!
For sure I enjoyed every minute of trying to find you.
Ooh, I saw your teasers for this. I'm super psyched to see you do this challenge run.
Hope you enjoy!
Dude, what a hustle 😂 congrats on the patience!
Some minor tips:
1. Bretons start with conjure familiar
2. You should get Spellbreaker, as it has a ward that protects against spells
3. You definitely should use the conjure dremora (?) lords
4. If you didn't want to level smithing and enchantment, you really should boost alteration, at least to combo it with your armor. You were dying too often
I loved the finding Willow mini game what a great way to use these battles
Not sure if this would have broken your rules; but, a torch can be equipped to the left hand. It has a weak block, deals mild fire damage, and provides warmth on survival.
Having to punch Alduin at the end isn't a bug, you are required to land the final blow. which makes sense as you are the "Chosen Hero"
My arachnophobia appreciates the removal of the spiders. Thank you
I’m so hyped to have found a new youtube channel with so much potential, loving the content 👌👌
never heard of you before but i clicked out of curiosity, quality like this deserves instant sub
thanks! :D very kind of you to say!
Good job on the video. Did put a smile on my face after a tiring day and the mini game was a nice addition as well.
Keep up the good work
Your so underrated I can just tell you put a lot of effort into these videos. You deserve to be as big as other Skyrim creators if not bigger ❤❤
Glad you like them!
The mini game is pretty fun, laughed hard for some of the spots u hid, really original ideia
4 and 2 for finding you! That was a lot of fun, thanks for putting in the effort to make a game out of it!
Im excited to watch more of you videos :)
next challenge will be skyrim as well!
I remember doing this challenge and it's surprisingly easy if you know what you're doing, even without the restoration potions glitch
Ooo. Im going to enjoy this one! Great content man! (Edit: also these really remind me of Major Slack playthroughs)
Let me know what ya think when you finish it! ^^
Yeah, i see what you mean definitely has the major slack feel
nice video watch it the 3rd time and still enjoy it. Even ask myself "is it possible t o beat skyrim with illusion spells only"
Great vid! If ur gonna do a Necro run pick high elf they have extra magic benefits
I loved the Where's Willow minigame within a game. x'D So entertaining.
Liked the video but I have 2 small criticisms
1: you said you won’t use glitches or exploits but the soul trap on a dead body is definitely an exploit/ glitch and it enabled you to speed run the conjuration skill making you stronger then you should have been kinda ruining the spirit of the challenge
2: technically at the end alduin has to be killed by a source of damage directly from the player this isn’t a glitch it’s a feature, while I agree this shouldn’t invalidate the whole run it could have been a fun mention because this feature “failed” many other peoples challenge runs
That way you can get Skeletons and Zombies as summons instead of having to break rules to get corpses where there aren’t any
I know these videos probably take alot of time, but man am i enjoying them!
they take a decent amount of time yeah, they are fun and people enjoy them so I'll keep making em!
I think if you play as a Breton you start with the Conjure Familiar spell.
I tend to go with Hadvar, no matter which side I take in the civil war.
For a very simple reason: Joining him and following him to Riverwood means you'll be a friend with the blacksmith and that in turn means you can take stuff from his house. Including respawning iron and steel ingots at the forge.
Camping helps manage cold, also torches and fur armor.
Clear Skies shout stops Alduin meteors.
I didn't have the aniversary version of the game when I did this run, was running skyrim special edition using steam family share and it wasn't upgraded yet. next run I will have anniversary edition.
You’re gonna blow up with these challenges, sick vids bud
There’s also a player home added in the Annivesary Edition called Gallow’s Hall that’s perfect for role-playing as a necromancer. It even has its own bone forge and you get the Staff of Worms which allows you reanimate a dead body to fight for you *permanently* (until they get killed). I used it on a Draugr Deathlord. Can confirm it works on pretty high level enemies.
I saw you three times, it was only because I had died in skyrim and then looked directly at the video the whole time where I had full concentration during this video
Okay the second time it was only once but I must continue to look now for each time the bit happens to help this bit become more regular since I thought it was great
I’m dropping a like… only cause I like your content… not because Skyrim belongs to the nords… cause it doesn’t.
Don't worry, next skyrim run I'll join the imperials and make propaganda for them. I'm an equal opportunist propagandist.
I liked the wheres Willow so much the fort you didn't have it I was sad
Need to find a way to do it in the fallout games
The fact you did this without "conjure demora lord" is crazy. Need 75 conjugation and to complete a quest at the college but they are so overpowered it makes everything so easy.
Not gonna lie, had fun in the forts minigame!
Nicely done
I've done this on the hardest difficulty but NOT with survival. Personally I don't like survival. You got me there.
Just an FYI, legendary difficulty is the best for this kind of challenge. Summons get the buff from difficulty that enemies do so they take reduced damage on legendary. On the easiest difficulty a lot of summons die in 1-2 hits for the same reason, they take more damage from the difficulty scaling.
The sheer quality of these vids are insane to me
Like your vids kept pooping up in my recommended and I was baffled both by how you haven’t exploded and how I wasn’t subscribed yet. Fixed that second problem though, keep it up dude!
thanks! I hope it continues to grow! ^^
One of the elf races start with the conjure familiar spell not sure if you said why you didn’t start with them edit: Bretons start with it
I started with Nord because of the cold and warmth system of survival. I'm glad I did since it became a regular issue and I would of hated it being worse than it already is.
i liked the mini game
Something that can help with a run like this is you can get a staff of summon Storm Atronachs at lvl 1. Just get a broom, greater soul gem (empty or filled), orichalcum (ingot or ore), and void salt. Then go to the atronach forge under the college of winterhold and combine them. Just like that, you have one of the most powerful summons in the game at level one that you can use for no magica. Also, the summoning range on the staff is insanely high, you can put it really far away.
Breton starts with conjure familiar
Love fhe minigame section lol & great video!
I really like this its kind of like your a camera-man filming a summoning documentary :)
The minigame was super fun and original😂😂!
Glad you enjoyed!
you actually made this more difficult than you had to lol. i love legendary survival but the early game is brutal, i spend forever in riverwood and whiterun doing boring stuff levelling in safety then get a follower and summoned whatever then do a bunch of quests that make people follow you till the end of their quest then don't finish the quests, you can build up a small army, that wouldn't have worked in this run obviously and a bit of a tangent but further to my original sentence, more sneak would have helped you a lot but seeing how long you relied on just a flame atronach and just ran around everywhere doing everything available to you like an alpha chad, very impressive, i would have cried.
Avoid the Elder Scrolls Wiki when you can. It can be inaccurate. The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages (UESP) is the definitive TES wiki and was even owned by Bethesda themselves originally.
during the jagged crown quest i did the very same thing after spending a good hour looking around expecting a more obvious spot until i searched up how to do it
More Skyrim runs would be great
there will be more! don't worry!
I love skyrim challenge runs id love to see more!!
@@WillowPlaysGames thats fair!! I honestly love any challenge runs you do
Glad I have something to watch while I fall asleep! Keep up the good work!
The where's willow game was actually great
Great video, though if you choose Breton you would've started with conjure familiar.
I thought about that but decided against it because the cold system, Nords are stronger against the cold debuff and it's easily the most difficult one to handle! ^^
@@WillowPlaysGames Understandable.
Damn storm cloak. Do you not know the lord of the imperials. We are trying to revolt and you kill the one person to help him with a shout in a dishonorable battle. You fool! GOOD VIDEO THO LOVED IT!
Ngl this channel is super cool i started watching it a few days ago and its kept me from boredom from my summer so far aslo the wheres willow parts are super funny 😊
glad you enjoy! ^^
I suggest a run using Wildlander modlist since it's a pretty hardcore survival experience. You can even turn it into a series of some kind. Did not see many youtubers covering this modlist yet
Guy literally plays Pokémon on essentially vanilla Skyrim for 45minutes. Worth every minute lol
I had fun playing Where's Willow. I thought that it was a fun game.
i will support you but i will never support the stormcloaks
lol
XD the where’s Willow was the best part
Found you 4 times in Round 1 and 3 times in Round 2! That was fun!!! Also good video!
Glad you enjoyed!
for your necromancer run since you don't use enchantment you should solve the murder case at Windhelm to get the necromancer amulet.
You can scroll forward to decrease depth of field
Idk why...but I like to image after this willow just settle down married flame lady and just chilled in the woods with his spirit daggo and ice\storm bodyguards...just me?
This has taught me that stormcloak armor is great camouflage for skyrim forts
Where's Willow is the shit ive seen in a youtube vid in a long time. Very much worth 11/10
Your bear mod is acceptable. and by that i mean i wouldnt do it but im glad you did because it means you enjoyed the run more
And the more you enjoy it, the more we do
I found all the Willows. Also, great challenge video!
The mini game was fun, had me squinting at my screen with max brightness. My retinas are fine ☺️
xD yeah I was worried when making it that Skyrim's color pallet being so washed would make it hard but it seems everyone loved the minigame!
My favorite summon is exploding familiar. Same familiar but when it gets hit it blows up, so fun! 5he best part is its cheap enough for a non-mage to cast a time or two.
Wheres willow goes so hard
Where’s willow now my favorite mini game
I'm glad!
Nice vid! By the way someone may have told you but Bretons start with summon familiar spell
12:04
Something is really impressive about that fireball being shot upwards
On the second mini game, i found you on the third one again, but this time i actually saw you because your back drop was the light colored sky and the outline of your head was pretty obvious lol i think the mini game is a clever idea.
I'm bad at Where's Willow but I do enjoy it!
The flame traps are a puzzle. You can walk on the white/light sections and they won't go off.
When they have wiped out the enemies they come back to stand next to their master: Oh and one of the things they often say to the enemy is "I honor my Master by destroying you"
If playing on survival bring torches, using one will give you few more minutes before freezing to death and cook with fire salt.
I love your voice and these are cool videos. I subscribed☺️
I've used the name for years and changing it would feel wrong tbh. if you type willow fallout or skyrim you should find my channel. I appreciate the concernthough!!! Also super happy to hear you loved the game! My next video going out in the next couple days has more!
