Easy install except reinstalling the bumper cover. Those little tabs are a bugger to get snapped back into the main bumper cover. The newly installed hitch makes it difficult to apply pressure from underneath. Any suggestions on how to get that center clip reinstalled?
The 2022 is the previous body style but I am sure the process will be very similar. And by caravan, I am assuming you are wanting to tow another vehicle with it? I would not recommend that with this class of hitch or vehicle.
How do you keep the rear auto breaking system from tripping when you have something connected in the receiver? My bike rack constantly trips it and it is really annoying.
Honda doesn’t recommend towing with the HRV. I’ve read online that it can roughly tow 1,500 pounds. Just a matter of if you trust what Google says. lol the one in the video is not being used for towing.
hey caleb i understand honda does not recommend towing but were you ever told by anyone what this suv could tow, i own a honda (HRV 2023 LX Awd) myself and simply want to tow a light travel trailer that will never exceed 750LBS, but im afraid to void anything and also worried if id harm my vehicle structurally
i hitched a uhaul 6x12 trailer, with a 2k lb hitch and ball, and a medium load, and drove from FL to UT with no problem other than it totally killed any semblance of mpg. drove the same hrv back from UT to FL with a different uhaul 5x8 with a heavier load and had no issue there either. the 6x12 uhauls weigh ~1800, or 1900 lbs empty. with a load, that will exceed the 2k hitch class, so it's not advisable to do that like i did, but 750 lbs is nothing. what is more important than trailer weight is tongue weight, which is the downward force that is exerted on the ball of your hitch. this is the weight that would be relevant in a frame bending situation. sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what this max is for your vehicle, especially when your car isn't a truck and those numbers aren't advertised. one way is to look up your car's maximum cargo capacity and that is essentially it. just remember to subtract out the weight of passengers and anything else in the car that isn't going to be on the hitch. then you must calculate the tongue weight of your trailer, and this is fairly easy, but not always exact, so it is best to have some wiggle room in your plan. the tongue weight is typically 10-20% of the trailer's total weight depending on the wheel base. a trailer with four wheels spread in a front and back manner will have a much lower tongue weight than a two wheel trailer with the wheels all the way in the back, if that makes sense. which it should, just simple physics. that all being said, towing a 750lbs trailer should be no issue structurally.

@@user-mh5tm3xp9e ; well, i wouldn't recommend going to the 2k lb limit on an HRV. i have done it out of necessity, but if i had any other choice i wouldn't have. i just this week did another run from FL to MN with about a 1500 lb load. i just torqued the bolts down as tight as i could. 23 lbs does seem light, and i figure this isn't a situation where over torque is a problem. just remember the max cargo capacity and tongue weights are more important.

You can temporarily deactivate it in the Honda sensing settings. It drives me crazy!

I can't tell from the video, but is this model number 11640 a 2" model or do you need to weld in an adapter to get to 2"?
This is not the 2”. You will need a 2” adapter

You could but it will make installing the hitch more difficult.

No, this one is a sport trim and does not have the kick sensor.

No, they do not recommend towing with the HRV. We only put the hitch on the car for accessories such as a bike rack.

Are there any hitches that don't require you to cut into the bumper? I understand it is not noticeable but I like to try avoid doing things like this.

A Philips head screwdriver, a flat head screwdriver, a 12 mm socket, a 13 mm socket, a 3/4 socket, and a tool to cut the bumper.
How much can the 2023 HRV tow? Honda doesn’t recommend it so they won’t rate it.
I am not sure if the towing capacity. She will not be pulling anything. She will be using it for a bike rack.

The car is not being used for towing. I stated in the video that it will be used for a bike rack. Also the reason why there is not trailer wiring.

The lower section, yes. Otherwise the hitch will not fit correctly into place.
