Wow! This just convinced me to buy and install an aftermarket hitch. The instructions for a Curt hitch, for instance, are much simpler than this one.

But the Honda hitch installs (cleaner) inside frame; not bolted to bottom, replacing the aluminum box bumper. I don't think the others do.

Just had my a hitch on my 2024 CRV Hybrid Sport installed. The tongue isn't straight making my new bike rack crooked. The installer told me it's impossible for the hitch NOT to be straight as it's bolted to the frame. Additionally the rear plastic bumper wrap around has not been fully reattached so it is bowing out in the back. The installer says the only way to fix that is to cut the plastic. Anyone had these problems?

    • @zoomgas2803

Can you confirm if this was the Honda OEM hitch or an aftermarket product? If OEM, the only way for it to not be “square” is if a part was manufactured wrong, which would have also made it nearly impossible to assemble, as you can see in the video, for all the bolts to line up, each part has to be accurately positioned. The only part that gets cut for the OEM hitch is the lower, center, underneath, as shown in video. Give us some more details and we will try to help. Thanks for watching!

Thanks so much. I've read the instructions and didn't feel like doing this myself since you have to cut out the parts for the left and right stay brackets, but it looks much easier using the drill bits like you did.
Does your trailer hitch show 1,000 lbs max weight? The gas models are capable of up to 1,500 lbs. My hitch shows 1,000 lbs but apparently the hitch is the same for hybrid models and gas models, so I could do up to 1,500 lbs with it.

I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
