Just added this to my 2018 2500 RAM. Great video. I used jacks as a second set of hands and didn't need to remove muffler.
I have the same truck (year/model) but its deleted....kinda curious to see how they did the exhaust. Removal may not be an option

I think they are a bit safer to pull, but mostly you get more room for less length.

I want a gooseneck hitch but I am very hesitant to mutilate a nice bed of a good pickup truck that's in good shape.
Making the cut feels wrong, but I use the heck out of it now.

The 30,000 lb rating if for pulling not all 30,000 being set on the hitch.

I really like chevy's, but the truck I own is a Ram. I bought the Ram because of the motor and cab size.

Todays Task I understand in my family I grew up with chevys so I’ve just grown to like them, but for you with four kids and a wife and dog you need the room
just watched, wanted to see if it is possible to install from the ground without a lift, thanks gentlemen for posting, headed over to etrailer to order mine, 0nly 230 miles on my new truck so i just figure i will drill a few holes in the bed. cant believe the estimates i have been given for this install. thanks again

No, the frame under the bed changed. It it not to difficult to do though. I have done one of those as well, but no video.

Yes you can actually flip the ball over so the bed is flat.

I have no idea, but I would guess a dealer would charge around $250.

What else do I need to pull a fifth wheel?
It will depend on the fifth wheel trailer.
I use the Anderson hitch that attaches to the gooseneck ball.
Interesting that this 4th gen model year range only has 4 primary bolts that bolt up to the truck. I have the same hitch getting ready to install on my 2022 2500 and it has 8 primary bolts, 4 on the sides and 4 up into the frame/crossmembers. I wonder what the differences are for weight ratings and such, but also makes me wonder if I can only utilize 4-6 bolts, as a couple of the 8 bolts are tough placement to get in and torqued to specs. I'm sure I will use all 8, but this has me wondering why one hitch model/truck year has 4 bolts and newer years have 8 bolts, what engineering change or design specs allowed this type of change.
I have installed in the new 2021-2022 and they are a lot more heavy duty.
@@TodaysTask Appreciate that info. Got my hole saw and weather is finally decent tomorrow... Might need to get the transmission jack out and lift it up into place, LOL. Or, 'hey honey, come give me a hand'.

So much easier... but doable without.

I believe the hitch changes a little bit, but not much you will definitely want to verify the right hitch for the right year.
