For the price, the new Tesla 3 Performance is the best car in its price range, quick af, spacious, efficient, crazy tech, no car comes near it.
A used Plaid cost about the same
@@sasukesuite1 Was mostly talking for a “new” car not used. I’d take a used plaid over a new 3 if it was around the same cost, but they really aren’t the same just yet. New M3P after rebate is nearly 50k, used plaid with low miles is high 60s.
47k for a 10s car = ICE is dead
@@larryc1616facts
I experienced this with my recent car search. Wanted something fast but can put my kids in and take a trip. Literally nothing with these specs and meeting those needs comes close to 50k. I'm so excited, mines slotted for July 3 for delivery!
Plaid is a M O N S T E R
2024 M3P vs MSLR would be a great match.
A base model C8 Stingray might be interesting.
Agreed! You can get a 21 Model S Refresh with low miles for the same price as a new M3P.
Which is the better daily driver? Sound, suspension/comfort comparison, etc.
Yes I want to see this too.
Yes. dyno it!! Also you need to set up a race with a 2023 Model 3 Performance 😉
definetly gotta get the ludicrous on the dyno!!!
🫡
Yehi have the older M3 Performance and ive seen them get 500hp at the wheels on a dyno
cannot believe the ultra red midlife crisis reference, exactly why I ordered mine in that color😅
The car itself is the midlife crisis choice. 🤣I picked the color because it is exactly the color I have ever wanted on a car.
I ordered the MLC Ultra Red too. :D
Plaid is not a brother. Is a King ! 👑 😂
Second to the RS3

*I think a standard Model S would’ve been a better comparison.*
Or long range model S, since it has duel motor and is AWD
No, the whole point is to test out the performance car of each model…
@MrSoull seemed like he was driving a regular S. A regular S beats the old model 3 performance the same way with a 10.89 quarter mile time or little less. In this video the model 3 had better 0-60 acceleration every time vs the plad which makes no sense plad is supposed to be 0-60 in 1.9 or 2.2 so it should have absolutely destroyed the model 3 from the start but it didn't. . Pretty sus if you ask me
I love my S Plaid. I love super fast acceleration and going fast, perfect daily imo. The 2024 M3P is awesome for the price!
Congrats!
I own a model 3 RWD(cash paid). What i need to do to be able to afford an S Plaid. its my dream car.

Model 3 P, vs Model S Long Range would be more fair
Exactly!
Its not about fair, It's curious to see the difference
I love how the ludicrous and plaid logo are Spaceballs matched. The ludicrous logo had those light beams coming towards you and plaid had those squares. Exactly as depicted in Spaceballs.
I’m more mad how there are reviewers and tech vlogs who can’t seem to do the very very minimum basic research to understand this and say they don’t understand what they mean. It’s not like a huge guarded secret..
That ultra red is really a sight to behold
Great content man
Got a X Plaid 2023 myself, getting our 3 Ludicrous/Performance 2024 next month or the one after early for our little brother, wanted to do this real time but here we are
Dude congrats! You’re packing serious heat.

DYNO!!!
Thank you for this test, I was waiting for someone to finally compare S Plaid with new 3 Performance. Great 👋💫.
Awesome video thanks for being the first to do this! 🎉
+1 subs man! Your content is amazing!! Excited to see what you got in stock for us for the future!
And to think that the S Plaid is popping up used for low 60's everywhere now.
In a few years some teenagers will be getting a Model S Plaid as a first car.
Subbed...thx for the content!
The M3P seems to be trapping around 4-5 miles higher speed than the previous gen with a high 10 sec 1/4 mile time. And it keeps pulling after 60 too so the top end acceleration is definitely an improvement. I have the 2023 M3P right now and man this is making me want to trade it in and maybe get the new one lol.
Break it down to the few points that really improved. Now give every single point a sum in dollars you'd be willing to spend as an "ficrive upgrade". Add them up and see if its over the real cost to switch. For me it wasnt by a large margin.
I had a 23 and having test drove just the '24 long range (no M3P to test drive) convinced me to make to jump to the '24 M3P. Even though the '23 was paid off, and getting back into a $450 a month note, I have zero regrets!
@@TheReddFam yeah, you made the contrary of what I suggested - an emotional decision. Best way to burn money.
@@romansenger2322 They are cars, a depreciating asset, money was burnt the second they are bought. Thanks to the tax credit on the '23 my loss was minimal.
@TheReddFam Yeah, money was burned, so why sell the first car after the most significant depreciation has occurred and go for the next depreciation asset for a minimal upgrade? That's the point of my first comment. But I'm just speaking generally, not specifically about you. In the end, it's your decision.
Drove one this morning. It's soooo zippy. Best deal car for track driving right now. Faster than most of my sports car and handles damn good.
its super bad for track driving u kidding me? It weights like an elephant and has disgusting handling. I was an owner of tesla plaid track pack for 3 weeks and sold it. its awesome for accelerations and thats an only advantage
@@JohnSmith-pw2jp yeah I know but it gets same track time as GT3 rs. look it up. And I didn't like my plaid either, super heavy. But model 3 performance works great on track. Heavy but still has great track times.
@@WillProwseyou owned a model s plaid and drove the new model 3 performance? What do you think? How do they compare? I’m stuck between both
@@WillProwsealso what year was the plaid?
@@JohnSmith-pw2jpwhat year was it? What was so bad?
I really want to see OG Model 3 performance vs new model..Us folks that bought the top in 2022 want to dream about the new model lol
You can find a 2024 m3p vs a 2021 on here at a real track racing. 24 m3p ran a 10.93 1/4 mile vs a 11.6 for 21 m3p. 👍🏻😎
@04:13 I COULD FEEL YOUR JOY THERE LOL
Great video bro thank you
Awesome, Mike. Again, a first from you 💖 Please have it dyno'ed when possible.
Epic sound on that Mustang🎉😍
can you put to a test of 2023 tesla vs 2024 race
Would love to see you test how performance varies versus state of charge. According to videos, we have seen minimal impact below 50%, similar to Plaid, curious to see the curve if/when it begins to taper off.
Insane stuff 🔥
Awesome video bro!
Your car on the Dyno? Yes please Sir :-)
Nice comparison. Looking forward to seeing more videos on the M3 Perf. Luda.
Anyone know when the implant will work with the cars settings? They said next firmware version but haven’t been specific.
What kind of implant are you referring to?
@@officialmichaeltan Neuralink
Yeah The Plaid is the best of the best superb machine !!!
Rimac Nevera
Thanks for the comparison to the Plaid! It would be great to see the 2024 M3P on the dyno. I have a 2023 M3P and I have seen so many HP numbers and I do not know what to believe.
Against the plaid:
1) what was the SOC?
2) What tires were used on each car?
Ludicrous is destined to loose a drag race, but would be fun to see the cost and performance of a M3L vs Plaid going around a track.
1. We both charged to 100% before the race. Finished the night at 80 something!
2. Stock pirelli pzero4 on mine. Plaid switched out for 19inch nonstock tires
Awesome video and races! I’m excited to get mine!
Quick question. I ordered a Model 3 performance a week ago and the delivery date is July/August. When I apply for financing it says credit is usually only good for 30-60 days. So should I wait? Will my car be built still even though I haven’t gone through financing?
Hmm yeah tricky dilemma. I remember chatting about in the forums when we were waiting for our performances. Some people say Tesla will have you reapply, I’m not entirely sure. Some recommended just putting down cash payment until closer to delivery day then switch to financing. Lmk how it goes whatever happens!
@@officialmichaeltan so I ended up waiting to get financing until I got my vin. However I only got my vin 4 days before delivery! Lol thankfully everything worked out and I got my loan through navy federal. I just picked up my car today!
I love it! However I feel like the brakes don’t really stop me at all. They’re heavy yet spongy at the same time. Do they need to get broken in or something?
@@JH-mo9hq thanks for the update! My brakes don’t feel spongy, as if there’s air in the fluid, but still they also don’t feel like they’re super high performance.
Nice video, Have you noticed the brakes are kind of weak at delivery? Has performance improved after break in?
Also is that homedepot jersey ur racing outfit?
Maybe slightly noticed some help with breaking them in but not too much. Haha maybe it will be.
love this content
wow. both fast AF!
Great comparison. It seems like the exact speed of the old model 3 performance. Is it worth the upgrade 🤔
That's about what i expected v.s plaid.
what were your 1/4 mile time?
This vid was a 1,000ft track, but I’ve been able to get 11.03 for 1/4 mile. Someone on YT was able to get a 10.93 I think, on a sticky drag strip.
So what does the 2024 Model 3 Performance do in the 1/4 mile? Time and trap speed?
I’ve done 11.03. Fastest I’ve seen is 10.93 some guy on an actual sticky drag strip.
10.7 is the fastest I’ve seen.
There a thing I realize with drag racing the plaid, I’m not talking about driving it in irl but like watching videos, so I realize like when the plaid is gonna start going fast the head lights usually jumps.
How much battery did you go through?
Barely any. Started at 94%, ended the night at above 80%
nice,, ,can you still buy the hp boost for the 3 ?
Not currently!
Cool video!
Dyno would be an ace video! Thanks!
How did the G80 M3 do? Was it stock?
I didn’t get to see it race, but may be able to make a video with a m3 or m4 soonish
@@officialmichaeltan Stock or tuned? I think it will need to be tuned to beat the new 3 perf.
Cool video
I had a chance to test drive both today and the Plaid is (unsurprisingly) on a league of its own when it comes to acceleration. The M3 Performance is an amazing deal, though.
@@TheLinuxExperience for sure, what this M3P does to other cars off the line is what the plaid does to this car 😂
What is your time quarter mile?
Exactly... all that and we still don't get a quarter mile time & speed 😂😂😂
Interesting would be a comparison between M3P and Tesla S LR
definitely
That would be a good race. The S LR can run the quarter in the 10.8-10.9 range at about 128 mph, but would be slower off the line than the 2024 M3P. So a 1000 foot race would be very close.
insane race, would love to see a comparison between the ludicrous 3 vs a long range model S and Performance 2022/23 model 3 !
Hope to do that soon!
banger!!
Can you run it against a 2021 or later standard Model S - I think that would be an interesting race.
Hopefully soon!
Great value for money
wow... for the first 2 seconds they are closeish
At least you won for a fraction of a second 😂
I wouldn’t wait for cheetah stance in a plaid. It feels like it hits harder without it because of the front end lifting more.
I wonder if even though the new m3p has an active suspension but not airbags like the plaids do. If they could engineer it so the front stiffens up some and the rear loosens up only in launch or drag strip mode to allow for better weight transfer&launches. 🤔
If you can setup a race vs the MS Long Range. The new M3P should be a good match. Both run upper 10's in the quarter mile.
That looks like a lot of fun. I wish I could afford one. :-o
In good time brother you will. Plus I’m sure there will be lots of cheap used ones in the next couple years.
The plaid has new sportseats from april 2024. Wish to see them more than just the badge
I find the acceleration of my dual motor Model 3 to be quite fast, let alone the plaid. I'd love to test drive that monster one day.
vs M3, vs M4, vs RS3, (stock of course) someone from this cars it can be very intresting
Would be cool to see it go against the Long Range version!!
I think they should've put the plaid drivetrain in the 3, that would be fun 😂
I wanna see the dyno!
These aren’t even close to a match. Even if they unlock all 600+hp on the ludicrous mode…
They’re different cars!
At 8:29 was it an 8V or 8Y RS3? Electric is crazy instant power.
I didn’t get the chance to talk to the owner!
💪YES ! definitely Dyno 💪
100-200 kmh ?
That got sexual quickly. A full 1/4 mile race and youd barely be able to the Plaid by the end.
Dyno!
doppppe can't wait
Crazy that Tesla just dropped the price to 42k overnight
I appreciate it when I order my 2023 model S Plaid 😎
Would also be nice so see new Model 3 Perf against a regular Model S and a legacy Model 3 Perf 😊👍
I thought the 3 Performance motors were the same as previous models? How can I "pull past 60 no problem?' is it software or what?
@@Magnus_Magnusson_702 hello, they updated the rear motor. It produces around 400hp from the motor. It also has a higher peak horsepower curve. Tesla made a video about it on their channel. Believe it is called 4D2 motor.
@@officialmichaeltan Oh yes! You are correct! I forgot about that. I have a 2020 Performance, I just paid it off and I love my car! I am not sure about taking the plunge into this new one or just keep what I have. I really don't care for the wheels on this new model though!! Thank you for responding!
@@Magnus_Magnusson_702 nice! The older version is still a beast
AWESOME!!
It looks nice. I saw a cyber truck today and I just don’t see how it’s from the same company 😂
Can you dyno it
He didn’t check the track pack box, but he can’t even do that since he didn’t check the arachnid box. 😂
Please do against BMW M3 Competition xDrive
Wow you made the Mustang look like a milk float 😂 then the Plaid make you look like the milk float! 😂😂 unreal, was good to see some comparisons. I now want the model 3 but can’t afford it 😢
One day brother. Plus I’m sure there will be some cheap used ones eventually
Dyno…do it!
Subbed :-)
Why didn’t you show the quarter mile times and trap speed?
It’s a 1000ft track. Straight isn’t long enough
@@officialmichaeltan Too bad. Thank you
You should put on dyno test .
I'd like to see the new 3 performance vs my older Model S P85D. 691hp- but much, much heavier.
'its got the yolk steering wheel.. everything you want in a car'.. nope
I want to see a 60-130 pull against a P100D Raven version
yes bring to dyno for HP
you need to race a model 3 performance
Plaid is on another level ... By power and by price too.
I love my plaid every day. No exceptions
Fun to drive... Straight. I'll stick with another brand for real fun.
Just curious, what you think real fun is?
Just wait until the roadster comes out 💨
I’m noticing the plaid needs a hot lap to unlock its true off the line power. The fact that the model 3, a bmw M and other videos show it can be taken down or at least challenge on a cold start is interesting. As for every lap after that it’s undisputed….. cold battery, questionable.
A more interesting comparison is to non plaid model S
Dyno please
