I like the idea of being able to pick the passives. But now with so many spell powers to choose from, it would be nice to have "Presets/Loadouts" to switch between the spells and passives more quickly.
Not gonna lie I love the idea of more build craft but I don't think this should be priority in terms of where they should be thinking about game design. The core issue with V Rising right now I think lies in the gameplay loop. They should be putting all their "design" thought into extending the life cycle of server wipes to at least 1 week imo. So many features in the game and how players interact with it are determined by server length. Want people to build sick and pretty castles? Nobody will bother on a 4 day server wipe. Want people to invest into optimizing cool builds? Nobody will bother without a reason to invest. Want new players to have a consistently good experience? Servers randomly dying that you invested time into is probably one of the WORST feelings in any game ever. At least when you get raided there's some kind of real enemy or player interaction. You got to feel like your resources were "used". This also reminds me, rebuilding after a raid is pretty much pointless with short server wipe cycles. This destroys a huge dynamic in PVP interaction. Who cares about making too many enemies on a wipe when the server is dead before it matters. It also makes it very difficult to engage with the game with casual time investment, as such a short server life span incentivizes people to dump a very condensed amount of hours into the game. That is a great way to burn out your players and kill the desire for so many more casual people to come back. If V Rising could make it so servers could consistently last 1-2 weeks with a HEALTHY player count before wiping, I think it would easily be one of the best games on the market
You should give a No-Wipe server a try. Usually on update launches, everyone is excited to run through the game multiple times on fresh wipe servers, but there also some really good No-Wipes that pop up. This past update, I played on the server Devil's Line for like... 3+ months with a full server pop on raid times and an average of 30+ on week days. There were tons of new players on it, and PvP was happening all the time. I know what you mean though. Personally I think end-game could be explored much more than it currently is, and really hope the new zone delivers on that
I think having less blood types makes balancing a bit easier, but I also think that "classes/roles" etc would be really cool in a game like this, so it'd be very interesting to see what new types of blood they could cook up. In group PvP, there's generally very little of this (classes etc). You can play different ways with things like Scholar etc, but at the end of the day, the current meta is "git gud" (weapon swapping) and then defensive spells. I think that this concept should be the "baseline" for balance, and then everything should be balanced around the concept of having 8 weapons and dealing with defensive abilities. I think primarily that new/reworked spells, jewels, and weapons are the way to achieve that, but new blood types could also be very interesting. I mentioned a bit in this video, but I think Armor Sets could also be a really cool way to implement things. Don't let us adjust our armor stats, and lean the Armors heavily into "classes," moreso than they are now. "You veil attacks do not proc defensive abilities if using a ranged weapon" would probably be a bit much, but stuff that is THAT unique would be super interesting to explore.
I just hope they make some end game content, for a PVP player like me, besides raiding, there is not much we can actually do in end game :( You can farm mats, get the best horse, farm stygian. But what is the point? I feel like the game dies after you reach 91. And i know im not alone in this though. Why do i wanna keep farming shards for better weapon stats or legendarys? I really love the game, i have around 1000 hours in it, but i feel like it lacks a little bit of end game. What do you think? Am i wrong? What can you do beside raiding? (I can raid, but my friend cant)
Def not wrong. I also think an end-game specific zone for lvl 91s to fight each other would be cool, so the end-game vamps congregate more in that area to allow other vamps to progress. Like "grind out your gear+PvP+something else" kind of zone. Mortium is technically that kind of, but imo the entire zone and experience is rather soulless.
@@terribletimmy2 Well the thing is, they really dont encourage you to stay on, because, even farming the best weapons or the best jewels whatever its not enough. A good player, without the best stat from weapon or jewel, can still outplay the other one if he plays nice. Gear matters in this game but so as skill, maybe skill matters even most i think tbh. you can totally outplay one guy who is 10 or 20 levels than you if you play well. So they give you stygian to farm with no sence. I reached max level again now, and im totally like "ok what now?" Even that shards charging feels kinda meh, if you manage to charge them, then what? you put them in your castle untill someone decides to raid you, or you lose it charging it again. Weapon Skill Efficiency - perhaps they're going for an old WoW style "Weapon Skill" rating - so players have to focus on using just 1 (or a couple of) main weapon types. Could be a way to both simplify the rotation, and cap the skill difference between the top-tier players who have one of each weapon to combo between, whilst freeing up some inventory space for other things.
This is a remnant of phrasing on other things (old warrior blood for example) that had enough ambiguity to make it uncertain exactly what they meant. It's annoying when this type of phrasing comes up, instead of just making it 2 sentences so as to remove all doubt.

These devs can’t hide behind an excuse anymore. People only logged into the Gloomrot update because that was their first major content update, and they only logged into the 1.0 update because SL claimed that everything prior to 1.0 was “early access” when in actuality they only started calling it early access to market their “grand 1.0 release.” Both updates were mid and SL haven’t communicated with their audience outside of minor patch fixes (oh and can’t forget the vinyls they tried selling us). I have a strong feeling that 1.1 is going to be a major flop unless SL ACTUALLY fixes their game and not just add more and more steps to get to a horrible endgame. I have so much love for this game but I’m not falling for the illusion anymore.
Love the game as well. I will say the devs seem wholly content with just pushing an update once a year and moving on. Maybe this will be a good one, but I also have a feeling this update won't be quite as big
On PvP servers it means: It gives a big push to players speedrunning through the game, creating a even bigger powergap between an endgame player and one who has completed like 80% of the game. So you have less incentives to stay longer in a zone like dunley and we will have even less pvp fights on our way to progress to the game, which makes me really sad. Even though the changes are looking cool for min/maxing players or pve lovers, it doesnt look to promising for me to hop on a pvp server again. I want to to have more reasons to slow down my progress and fight with players more on my way through vadoran.
There will likely always be an incentive to speedrun to the end in PvP. I will say that if you enjoy PvP but don't want to deal with that, you should check out servers that gate progression to multiple days. If that doesn't work, def check a PvE dueling server when those come out.
This is already the case; if anything, the soft caps will make a higher-level player comparably weaker. SLS has shown that they don't care about this imbalance.

Hey there, welcome to the game! Yes most likely there will be a server wipe in order to play the new content. Unfortunately, this game isn't like games like Valheim etc. They change a LOT of core/mechanical stuff with these updates, so you'd need to start a new run if you want to play new stuff. maybe weapon free cast is just extra auto attack or something. not the skill itself- that could put ppl in really bad scenarios actually, like needing to move and it gets you stuck in an animation.
Very likely yes. When they release new zones, they tend to make MASSIVE changes throughout the map as well. This has always caused "force wipes" if you want to play the new content. Keep in mind however that this likely won't go live until May 2025, so you still likely have 5 months or so before it's launching. New content on a fresh wipe has always been an incredible experience in this game.
@@terribletimmy2 I only started playing like a month ago, so haven't experienced any of the other wipes but I'm already done (besides dracula) and want to play again with a new area, but it makes me not want to put the effort into my castle I was currently doing.
For anyone saying server wipes should still be a thing. Nobody likes wasting time and being forced to start over. Second. There isnt alot to do besides seiges for end game content and pvp. Make dungeons only accessible past a certain point. And third. More things to do later on like hell maybe a mount tame system where instead of a horse. You just found a rare flying mount that lets you glide a little ways out. Or a dinosour you tamed on a far off island or a spider. Stuff thats different but gives you something to do. And better yet. Make critters you can find and tame for the hell of it. A rat? Sure. Bat? Crazy. Baby spider? alright. But a weird mutant the size if a golf ball that looks like grimer? Now you got pokemon going.
I think it just depends on the experience you want. Some people enjoy no-wipes because the storylines they have can be awesome for awhile, and healthy communities on no wipes are fantastic. Others enjoy the thrill of a fresh wipe and competing against other players. Getting perfect gear and decorating castles etc doesn't matter for them
well my pvp is not good enough. Im gettig killed 3v1 quite often. Game is not fun anymore. I need a chalenge thats on my lvl. Open world pvp is unfair. Do u think thats going to change on the next patch??
Likely won't change in that regard, but you will be able to find more solo/duo servers. I would HIGHLY suggest you look for solo servers to play on come the next big patch. You will enjoy it much more.
Frail blood is basically nothing late game cos this new one tbh have to see, I’m really excited about everything new that comes to this game but omg skilled players are just gonna slaughter with these new perks
Reaching endgame needs to be 10x longer. Raids (attacking/defending) need to last 5x longer. Implement more interesting attack & defense mechanics because just spamming golems gets boring real fast. Balance all base plots/locations. Then maybe servers will last more than 2 weeks.
I think just having interesting end-game content would be a big plus. Raiding needs to be entirely reworked IMO. I have some ideas for that, but I know there are a TON of ideas from a ton of people. Hopefully they listen
@terribletimmy2 I think they should make the mid game faster if they want to focus on endgame content, too. Rifts became especially nauseating at some points with goon squads running around solely to target people who weren't 90 yet, and that made people drop off. I tried so hard to save my main server that I had to play server police and protect lower levels to keep the competition healthy. Most fun I've had so far was a solo only nightly raid server with 3x loot, but it got old pretty fast, too.
Dumbest thing currently is for pve players that you gotta kill the final boss to get the full set. So when you eventually get fully geared you stop playing. Should get fully geared first and then fight the final boss.
Yeaaaaaa I think I’m going to stop playing pvp after this, was already hard against ppl who no life the arena and play on certain servers, with those combos… pve it is then 😢
don’t nerf move speed, make everything else stronger. Making move speed obsolete makes brain dead spells like void mosquito good and just feeds into shit gameplay. Make it punishing to hit the shots but also give a great way to avoid it.
The issue with this approach is that move speed would then stay as the required method to play the game. If you buff other things to be able to compete with move speed, you make it required to build max move speed in every single build. If they baked move speed into everything and made getting max move speed easier, then that might work. Otherwise we'll be perma stuck on rogue blood until the game servers shut down
I prefer this. I like coming back after one huge update and replaying the game rebalanced with new changes, rather than having to login everyday to do dailies and all that crap.
@@jonathaneriksson9273 I think there's a bit of a balance. I agree that stuff like dailies are my nightmare, but also I would enjoy seeing more minor updates to keep the game fresh alongside the big updates. Take some small things from the big updates and introduce them every couple months, make the BIG updates a little bit smaller. That way people who want to keep playing will be incentivized to continue playing, and people that only want to return for Big updates will have the big updates AND small updates all at once, effectively getting the same amount of content.
I like the idea of being able to pick the passives. But now with so many spell powers to choose from, it would be nice to have "Presets/Loadouts" to switch between the spells and passives more quickly.

Practice on V Arena
@@terribletimmy2 thx 4 the tip and yes practice on v arena got it
Frail blood is basically nothing late game cos this new one tbh have to see, I’m really excited about everything new that comes to this game but omg skilled players are just gonna slaughter with these new perks
I think the opposite. The time you need to invest into a wipe is currently way too high. We're talking 16 hours or so of PVE to play open world pvp.
@ u might as well play other games if u want quick top down pvp. Farming is already a joke as is.
@@Shin_mu. 16 hours is not a joke.
Still no real end game loop
Yep. Hoping they deliver on the new zone
We need longer wipes to make the early game more fun its too fast
Hoping that the end-game zone will give us more interesting endgame content.
Not expecting much. The gameplay loop is always so unrewarding long-term that everyone quits.
Just revive Battlerite.
Endgame content is really the biggest need at the moment. I believe the next zone is SUPPOSED to be that
@terribletimmy2 I think they should make the mid game faster if they want to focus on endgame content, too.
It's joever.
GGs

:/
Yeaaaaaa I think I’m going to stop playing pvp after this, was already hard against ppl who no life the arena and play on certain servers, with those combos… pve it is then 😢
I'd give it a try again after the update. Generally we see a big g playerbase bump, and the variety you'll find in PvP is worth it
don’t nerf move speed, make everything else stronger.
Otherwise we'll be perma stuck on rogue blood until the game servers shut down
game is nearly dead...
It goes through cycles like this with each update. Next year's update will likely bring a huge chunk of the player base back for about 2 months.
Still dead game within a month. Nothing to fix replayability
Did not reveal last mechanic yet - could it be gamechanger. Joking, probably some pvp stuff. Praying for modding community yet again ;)
Yeah, I don't know how much interest they have in fixing that sadly
I prefer this. I like coming back after one huge update and replaying the game rebalanced with new changes, rather than having to login everyday to do dailies and all that crap.
@karmelkowykuc3525 Def hoping for more Modding options.
