This actually inspired me to make my own video just like this, as a rogue player it kinda pains me seeing them used like this, they get a really bad rep because they're not an easy class to play well, but when you do they can be deadly. Great video though!
@Savaris96 ...which makes them more difficult in said game precisely because of that? knowing how to properly pick and approach fights and how to bypass things *without inflating charisma* IS the added difficulty. Your typical Paladin Fighter or Bard have a much easier time navigaging the game. But Larian did a great job of allowing for actual class RP and making it viable - i.e. if you play a Rogue ...like a Rogue, you'll be just as useful as other classes (if you omit builds that rely on unbalanced shit like RadOrb or TB because those will always be the OP ones)
Yes, you can, it's easier with a multiclass for spice, you can have a Rogue Bard, a Rogue Ranger, a Rogur Fighter and a Rogue Warlock to have the most versatility and get less bored, or have 4 Rogue Rangers for maximum obliteration
@thejury94 yes, but on the other hand the variety makes it more fun, sticking to just Gloom Assassin is kinda boring tho, but amazing for getting the Honor Mode achievement
@@thejury94 i did that last week, had to stick to that build for safety, slowly starting combat one by one while dealing big hits with my sneak attacks, just 5 Rogue 7 Ranger for what i think is maximum efficiency, unless you care about the third Feat to get Mobile, i got Sharpshooter and Alert
I feel like most all playthroughs should add up to three lvls of something to add personality. Like always keep a three fourth rule with these pure classes.
@@thejury94 I did it on my first try without even knowing how to do that. Will you was on the right track all you had to do is pick the dialogue option. You going to his letter reading with his wife says really makes him waiver. You still fighting for the first time but making kill himself the second time. I'm glad I never fight him the second time that was too much work it looks like.

I doubt that the dialogue options for it are available with a Durge though (they might be- could be worth trying). In my current playthrough Isobel insisted that I have no mercy for Ketheric, so, a full fight it will have to be this time. Ah well. My Origin Astarion despises people who dominate others anyway (and also sees humanoids as cattle. He is like an ogre who is like an onion, you know)

In my second playthrough I was using a mod to increase the level cap and reduce the xp needed per level, so I was a level 14 Oathbreaker Paladin when I met Ketheric. I convinced him to kill himself and then successfully used Control Undead on the Apostle of Myrkul (Ketheric in his humanoid form is immune, but the avatar of death is not) on my first turn. He never did anything to fight me, but killed off all his minions for me very quickly. Unfortunately that soft locked the game as he did not drop a Netherstone, even when I decided to attack and kill him out of combat while he just stood there and took it. I did still get to loot his letter about Isobel, his shield, and the Myrkul Scythe instead of his hammer.
You’re missing the best rogue build. Dual-wield hand crossbow Thief Rogue with Sharpshooter, mobile and crossbow expert feats is nearly unstoppable. If you multi class with 5 lvls of fighter you get 3 attacks which can hit creatures nearly anywhere on a map. And once per short rest you can boost that to five attacks for one turn. And if you attack a creature that is already engaged with one of the other party members, you get that sneak attack. Rogue’s aren’t great for head on attacks but can rain down damage if you got something to distract the mobs
Rougues make very good multi-class (mostly thief for extra bonus action good 4 dual weilding and monks) and assasin for auto crit on surprise (very good with other dex classes sword bard / certain fighters ect)
I feel that Shadowheart should be the Thief, since she is the one who stole the Astral Prism. I usually let Aradin knock out Zevlor as I find his pickpocketing his gloves more useful that what Aradin carries.
full bard is arguably the easiest full class party in the game. bard probably strongest class in the game, definitely most versatile. it's very fun, but 100% not more difficult than rogue.
Most classes start to get their stride in the mid game. How well they preform when they have a wealth of magic items can be misleading. Rogue is the worst class. But their weaknesses can be overcome through scrolls and magic items. Just like everyone else. Ranger has fewer weaknesses than Fighter, Rogue, Barbarian, Monk and even Paladin. To assume its one of the weakest is just wrong. Rangers have a strong early game and can fill multiple party rolls. You may be like "What? how can ranger have fewer weaknesses than Paladin?". Well, their spell list is significantly better, they get better fighting styles, they have real ranged options, they can also wear all armour, they have better overall subclasses. The one thing paladin does have over ranger is aura of protection(which is significant I wont lie). Smite isn't good. its the gambler's ability. Ranger's can hedge better against bad luck.

rogues suck? as a DM i agree, rogues suuck... because of how utterly broken they are. And even more so in BG3, where hiding and gaining advantage is so easy due to the vision cone system. As much as i disagree with the intro though, this video is awesome :D

Its not about being difficult, rogues are highrolling skill monkeys and in a game where the Focus is on combat

The fight with Myrkal is so much easier if you just get Ketheric to kill himself instead of wasting resources fighting him in that form.

Rougues make very good multi-class (mostly thief for extra bonus action good 4 dual weilding and monks) and assasin for auto crit on surprise (very good with other dex classes sword bard / certain fighters ect)
