This has inspired me to come back! I enjoyed this game early on before Ruins of Mortium. Been awhile since I played and now I'm starting my solo run as we speak. Awesome content and thank you for showing this game the love it deserves!
There's some really good strats around dunley and cursed forest, but end game will always be slow in 1.0 patch since we have to farm for recipes now. You can def do early shard boss clears, but they aren't nearly as good as they once were since without upgraded armor recipes we can't actually use the drac armor pieces
@@terribletimmy2even just some lategame strats of doing up to the top of the non-shards (styx/gorecrusher/etc tier) with less-than-optimal gear could work, as from there, you just switch to farming mode and have enough to be able to kill shards afterwards
Im here because I was playing a "non wipe" pve server and I got the perfect spot at Cursed Forest and the server just died. I want to be more efficient at this point because I don't really feel like starting all over again haha but I love the game@@terribletimmy2
Merci infiniment, super guide, le coup d'aller récupérer les gros joyaux et le fer chez les spectres dès le début, c'est vraiment une superbe idée, ça carry vraiment d'avoir fait ça en early game, GG !
Interesting to compare this to TryhardScorpio's 6h23m duo Dracula run. Their strat involved farming Brighthaven at *level 9* for like an hour to acquire most of the mats needed for higher level crafting. Brighthaven drops copper bars, reinforced planks, iron bars, glass, etc. Getting the iron from cursed forest seems crazy-fast, but for the tiers where you need reinforced planks, farming Brighthaven makes a lot of sense.
Yeah, brighthaven has been a strat since shortly after the game came out in early access. I haven't fully mapped it yet, but I think this method would work out better overall as a duo. You front load iron to get into cotton faster, and then can send someone to farm silver mine to get reinforced planks, silver, and sulphur early. Silver mine has a much more narrow loot table, and can be looted significantly faster. You also only need 8-11 reinforced planks early on, so it's not as big of a deal if you don't get them all at once. There's also the fact that brighthaven is easier/less risky to farm at a higher level. I'm fairly certain as a duo you could have a lvl 50 player at just over 1 hr in, which is a high enough level to clear every other boss in t2 that matters. This means within 2 hrs you could be pushing into cursed forest, or very close to it.
Great vid, man! Would love to see one for brighthaven early-game farm for solo run. I didn't find out about it until well into my game, but have been curious about it for future playthroughs.
Hey thanks! Brighthaven runs are super good, especially on fresh wipes. I actually did it in a run recently as well! Check out Episode 1 of Duo to Dracula. If you're playing on like 1.5x or higher, they are easily the best start in the game by a very very large margin. Not saying 1.5x is the ONLY way they're good, but imo they become totally crazy when you start getting ~4 iron ingots per drop. You can come out with enough iron for 4 iron weapons in 1 loot run, or enough for 1 iron weapon (and a ton of other loot) extremely quickly. A few issues you'll find with Brighthaven runs that, IMO, make them riskier than Cursed Forest, is the fact that there is no TP nearby, so dying is a BIG issue. On top of that, doing them on established servers (not fresh wipes) can be really dangerous as well. If a single lvl 91 finds you, it's a massive waste of your time (which is a lot if you're farming 44 iron ingots etc), whereas with Cursed Forest, (on top of having a TP) the loot path is extremely quick AND the villages aren't super popular POI's in late game.
I did this run like 6 times already (~15 if i count segments), i'm always finishing at 2hrs x). I really thought you were chilling in your video, but damn you are actually insane. I got rnged multiple times by Unsullied hearts and not looting enough iron ingots. Cursed villages are pretty hard also, i always die at least 4 times or take too much time to lose aggro. But in the end, it's pretty fun, thanks for the video !
Hey thanks, glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, this method is super rough if you get screwed by RNG. Iron can be fickle, but it you take the time to just loot everything, it's generally very consistent. At the most you'll need a 3rd run to the first village, unless you just get entirely screwed. Also, keep an eye out for chests, as they seem to have a much better drop rate for ingots. Sometimes you get super lucky and get like... 32 ingots on 1 village, but that's fairly rare. And yeah, unsullied hearts can be brutal, but one way I found to recover in that front is the fact Beatrice, Quincey, and Grayson the armorer all have 100% drop rates on them. If you got totally screwed and have zero hearts by the time you have to kill Quincey, kill Grayson first -> Quincey -> iron weapon-> Beatrice -> Grayson and you'll 100% have 4.
Nice strat, learned some tricks from it. Wondering how do you go from the lvl 50 forward - for Dawnthorn you need Anargam, Ungora and Ben - would be doable with some practice, but you still need merc iron for silver. Also the amount of materials ramp up a lot in part4 - so proper flooring is a must. Need to try this strat at some point ;)
There's a bunch of stuff you can do at this point. The thing about this stage is you can technically clear/farm everything with just a merc iron weapon/pistols. I'll probably make a run for this at some point
@@terribletimmy2 Have tried recently some lumber mill starts - can give you from 4-30 copper ingots, it is quite inconsistant. You can buy silver potion (18c) from farbane vendors to gather some of silver coins from cursed village - for merc upgrade (64s for a book). Clearing all content on merc iron - would watch that for sure, might be a bit harder than gloomrot. When next video?
Hey what’s going on brother!! I love your vids man. Used to be on streams all the time! Are you planning on continuing playing v rising or jumping onto some new games?
Hey man! I do plan to do more content for the game, but I'll likely be doing other games as well. Sadly, stunlock is extremely slow on adding things to the game, and I played nothing but v rising for around 4.5 months since 1.0 and needed to try other things. Still things I want to do, but also been getting into deadlock recently
after getting 100%achievment i will go into pvp servers and this channel only one i feel provides true infos and gameplays for that so keep it up man, can you please make a video about future vrising updates like there is a cool game to work and provide new stuff on just curious!
@@terribletimmy2 Hey Timmy, are you referring to Xolo's interview? I was quite disappointed in that one since the things I was hoping for aren't a priority for Stunlock, being; modding tools.
Yeah that one. Same here tbh. I must not understand how they coded it in unity because if people have already managed to make the mods in the game currently, seems like some tweaks would open up so much. Also, map editor would be perfect for this game
I know of 4 really active duo servers and like 4 active squad servers in NA. They tend to be most active on the weekends. One thing I would suggest is finding a server on the weekend that you like, grind up to max level, and then playing a little in the week and be on for raid hours on the weekend. Super fun
Def not possible solo to hit 50 in 52 minutes on a 1x Rushing Quincey alone is 20 minutes, and it's about 10-15 minutes for a single iron run. Put in time to kill Leandra+farm scourgestone, time to kill Beatrice, farm cotton + refinement time AND time needed in base and it's simply not possible with standard settings solo. There are a ton of starts though with some crazy strats for fast early gains
The next biggest thing is working towards securing dawnthorn. It's such a MASSIVE upgrade over hollowfang, and not actually that hard to get. Lvl 53-56 is really all you need, and I'm able to kill everything required at lvl 53. Once you have dawnthorn and a silver weapon (after killing Cyril), especially on normal mode, every major progression boss is in reach. Baron first for amulet, then Henry, Matka, Voltatia, and Azariel are killable easily (even without merlot amulet if you want, but amulet is fairly easy to get imo)
I don't have it timed, but it would be significantly faster. What you would likely do here is have 1 player go wolf and then IMMEDIATELY go do a cursed forest run at lvl 10 (maybe stop for some chests to get some copper coins). The other player would probably do a quincey speed run strat (which kills quincey in around 20 minutes). 1st player does the sulphur mine strat (bombs to blow up nodes) after cursed forest and then bases to start working towards lvl 27. 2nd player does another iron run after quincey if it's been long enough since the first one (this depends on how long it took the first player to do it). At lvl 27, a player goes and kills leandra (I'll probably make a video showing how to do this), while the other gets the iron weapon asap and goes and starts cotton and wool thread farm (no need for nightstalker armor, just get iron weap and go farm). Keep in mind this is just 1 way to do this. There's also something to be said about someone getting an Instant copper weapon via Dunley Lumber -> basing -> Sulphur -> Bear -> Quincey while the other player Goes Wolf-> planks -> keely -> iron -> base. I'll try and see if I can get a duo version up at some point.
Honestly no clue. I'm familiar with an old Quincey speedrun that was ~21 minutes, and then a speedrun that claimed wr for lvl 47 with Iron Wep + hallowfang at around 2hrs7mins (was def NOT wr but oh well). There's also WR Drac kill as a squad I believe, but none of them are accepted by any speedrunning community from what I know as a category. For me, I'm generally not super into doing speedruns myself unless it's a viable fresh wipe strat. Nothing against them, but I just prefer doing "practical" runs.
It's nice and all but to play this in solo is kind of a bum, you're ruining fun for yourself, like yeah you gonna pve up to last armor/weapon set but you gonna miss out on so much fun in earlier zones. And if you gonna fail early what are you going to do just start a new save/wipe because you wanted to play "like this". I think this strategy or any rush strategy is really needed on some actual serious pvp/squad servers. Such strategies existed basically since day 1 of early acess.
I don't think you understand the point of this video. First, anyone can play however they want. I have had tons of people tell me they only play solo PvE and yet they love speed running the game. "Taking it slow" when you have over 1000 hours in this game is rather pointless. What exactly am I going to enjoy in farbane on my 100th start? Second, the point of this video is to showcase the strat and let people modify it how they want for their own PvP runs. Duos will take it and also modify it. The majority of even veteran players have no idea this is even a thing, and therefore will find it helpful. Third, This strat definitely did not exist in day 1 ea because the loot tables for cursed forest were different and may requirements were as well. It was around in gloomrot, but NO ONE shared it or posted about it anywhere because they didn't want the masses knowing about it. The fact you're bringing up squad strats in a video about a solo leveling strat tells me you either missed the point or are looking for something to complain about.
