There’s a reason rich business owners in Dubai that sell appliances, furniture, and automobiles hire Egyptian salesmen, almost exclusively! They just don’t take no for an answer and know how to close a sale.
Hello, I am thinking of visiting Egypt in 2023. I did watched other UA-camr videos on Luxor... one of them got scammed and also experience hassling like you too. So what is your tip for those solo travelers? Is it safe to bring money around because I read that most places accept cash only?
Hello friend, yes it is safe to carry money around, but my tip would be to carry small denominations of bills, and in different pockets of your clothing instead of all cash in your wallet, because if you take out wallet with lot of cash they will see and if you give them 100pounds and expect change, they will say they don’t have change , and it will be an uncomfortable situation . You can use your card to pay at reputable restaurants shops etc, but there is no problem carrying cash. cash is a must for the local shops
Before you pay or hand over the money, hold your money in your hand and ask them if they have change, if they pretend to have none then you ask around. Don't give in!! They don't like waiting until you get change, they're in a hurry to get the next victim, so make them wait. And if they act aggressively, you ask or call out for tourist police. Good luck!
As an Arab I’ll give an advice don’t say I’ll see you later or else just say NO very strictly They look nice and friendly but the real cause is to rip the money out of your pocket
Don’t trust horse drivers. They give you deal for 20 Egyptian pounds they want you ride. After you ride. They change price 200 hundred or more You ask him why you lie with price. He say. I told you 20 pounds for market. I take you more distance gahahahaha
Not scammers or hounding, they are friendly and talkative people that rely on tourists. This is just conversations. He offered a good price and if it is high then they expect you to haggle as it is their culture. Very misunderstood nation.

@@claymore9032 nope, it's their culture to haggle. Go to Venice or Switzerland and pay $20 for a coffee. That is straight up scamming.
@@claymore9032 nope, it's not hounding, it's negotiation and being talkative. They rely on tourism and to haggle for a final price.

You don’t go to Egypt to see the pyramids. You go to Egypt to steel yourself against the scammers; i.e. toughen up! 😅
Why you even bother talking to these people if you know they are on a scam move…?
