- We are traveling through Louisiana in our 2013 Ford Transit Connect micro camper van. The first stop on our road trip is New Orleans! We start the day at Cafe Du Monde where we try their famous beignets. After exploring the French Quarter we make our way to Bourbon Street. There we try a Hurricane and purple “voodoo” drink at the oldest bar in New Orleans, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar. We then make our way to Po Boys New Orleans where we continue tasting famous foods New Orleans is known for including the Po Boy, Muffuletta and last but not least Gumbo!

Hi from Tonawanda NY!! We love going to New Orleans. It’s our happy place!!
Small world! We are from Hamburg- Go Bills!
New Orleans is one of our favorite cities as well, great minds think alike 😊
Thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate it!
Lived in New Orleans and Cafe Du Monde was always our cheap date night. Totally worth it!
Wow, we are totally envious you got to live in that amazing city! Unlimited trips to Cafe Du Monde sounds like a dream haha
Thank you for watching, we really appreciate it!
Such Fun! Definitely on my list of places to visit!
As it should be! We hope you get there to check it out someday soon 😀 Thank you for watching, we really appreciate it!
Loved your tour … food and all. Can’t wait for you to finish your laundry for more of Nor Leans. 😂
With your food reviews I thought I was watching a video from The Adventures of A & K and not Heather and Mike! 😂 Love all your videos!
We aren't the most adventurous eaters but we are trying haha
Thank you for the kind words and for watching, we really appreciate it!
Great visit to New Orleans. Food looked yummy.
Safe travels 💕
You are right, the food was great! Thank you for watching, we appreciate it and you!
lived down there for five months while working on WATERFORD UNIT NO.3 nuclear plant...great food and jazz....you need to visit longer next time
You are right, we do need to visit longer next time! It is an amazing city and we are incredibly envious you got the opportunity to live there for a bit. It must have been a blast 😀
Yankee Po-Boy, LoL yup McDonalds spicy. I was in NO on work with my GM and his wife. Walking down Bourbon St I was going to go in a VooDoo store. My GM looked at me with searing eyes and said "if you go in there you're not going on the plane back with us!". btw Beale St in Memphis, TN is a drinking on the Street place with all the bars having walk-up windows. Looks like you guys had fun! Safe Travels and Adventures!
That just means you have to visit again so you can finally go in that store! (and eat some more Po-Boys and Beignets haha) Thanks for the heads up on Beale Street, when we are back in that area we will have to check that out as well. Thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate it!
Spectacular video. New Orleans looks like a lot of fun and history. I hope to try a Beignet they look so delicious. Did you catch any of the Mardi Gras.
You are right, the beignets were very delicious! We weren't there during Mardi Gras but there was no shortage of partying and beads available if you went looking for some festivities haha
Another bucket list item vicariously ticked off, looks a great place to visit. Thanks to you guys I now know what gumbo looks like. I’ve worked with lots of Americans that have mentioned it but never actually seen it before.
Too funny! We didn't know what gumbo looked like either...
Thanks for coming along as we check off our bucket list, we really do appreciate it and you watching! We hope you get to check it off your own some day 😀
I LOVE New Orleans! One of my favorite vacations…ever…..The food, the music, the vibe….had Mike been there before?
Looking forward to the next one! This makes me want to go back.
✌🏻💕
No, Mike had not been there before. I (Heather) had been there previously and loved the city as well! You are right, the food, music and vibe are fantastic. We hope you get back there too 😀
Just a heads up that we love your channel and watch a ton, but we watch in clusters as we live remotely and therefore download a ton to go home each week and watch. So we watch various channels in clusters, lol. Anyway, NOLA has been on my husbands wish list for a long time. Found this video helpful and fun! ~ Kristina
Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching, we really do appreciate it! It means a lot to us that we make the cut for you to watch each week! Thank you for spending your time with us 😊
Uh, it's not a "trolley" (in New Orleans), they're known as STREETCARS fyi! 😉 ⚜️⚜️⚜️
Too funny! Thank you for letting us know, we really do appreciate it and you watching 😊
Nice video. You both do a great job. We were in New Orleans during Spring break. Sooo crowded. What time of year were you there.
How fun! We went to New Orleans in November and the crowds weren't bad at all. Thank you for the kind words and for watching, we really appreciate it!
I promise........................I'll visit New Orleans, yes I will, yes I will.
We are going to hold you to that promise! We hope you get a chance to visit as well. When you do, don't forget to try the beignets 😀 Thank you for watching, we really appreciate it!
Hello Mike and Heather . May I ask the exact location of the parking spot at where you park your car ? I heard something about visitor center . Thank you
May I ask- how do you get internet service while traveling? Thank you 🙏✌🌎💞
We purchased an internet service through the Calyx Institute. We made a video on the subject if you are interested in checking it out: ua-cam.com/video/Lp6YGjnab5g/v-deo.html
Truthfully, if we could do it again, we would purchase Starlink instead. It wasn't available when we first started out but now that it is, it seems to be a more reliable option with better coverage!
@@mikeandheather thank you. I did watch this video all the way through. Sounds like a great deal-however-I could not leave a comment there 🤔🤷
Just fyi its not called a trolley in NOLA its the street car
Thank you for letting us know and for watching, we really do appreciate it!
What do you guys do for work?
Long story short we both were forced into remote work because of the pandemic and when it was time to return to the office we quit our "career jobs" haha
Heather was working in a Career Center and Mike in a museum. We now have basic remote data entry/customer service jobs. When we were traveling out of the van we dropped down to part-time work and would work a few days out of the week and travel the rest. We weren't really making money, just breaking even...
We are currently home and not traveling, in the meantime we have jumped back up to full time and are now trying to work as much overtime as possible to build up our savings once more so we may (finger's crossed) go on another adventure! Our backlog of videos is a blessing in disguise haha Hope that helps answer your question! Thanks for watching :)
