  • New Orleans has a special place in my heart...
📍All the places I went to...
    📍Cafe Du Monde
I mean, c'mon you have to.
    📍French Market
Open everyday from 9AM to 6PM! Fun open market to hang out.
    📍Liuzza's by the Track
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I still think about their fried green tomatoes and the barbecue shrimp poboy.
    📍Crawfish and Chill
I know it looks kinda tacky but this was one of the best seafood boils I've gotten in my life. Their sauce was fire, the owners were so kind. 10/10 recommend. Sad we missed crawfish season but that's for next time :)
    📍Brennan's
Super cool classic fare. Incredible service and their desserts were amazing. Bread pudding, I kid you not is one of the top 10 desserts.
    📍Fontaine Bleau State Park
So beautiful & worth the $3 per person entry fee.

When you open UA-cam and see Dooby dropped a new video less then a minute ago is similar to getting an extra nugget in your McDonald’s. You weren’t expecting it, but it makes you happy.

Doobie has the best b-roll footage of any vlogger, she shouldn't even be considered a vlogger abymore bc she elevates the form so much with her footage and editing. She really makes the places she visits come alive thriugh her edits 😚👌

Horrible accreditation, when the real African slaves are the creator's!! Many of the ingredients the European slave owners wouldn't have even given to their dogs for consumption. The slaves literally turned what they considered trash into Culinary treasure!!

Just an amendment! Creole in NOLA is a mixture of European, African and Indigenous cultures, not necessarily a European person born in the West Indies or Spanish America. The definition you gave may have worked to describe Creole colonial settlers during the Louisiana purchase let’s say, but the definition has now evolved to mean a mixed race person of European, African and Indigenous heritage with ties to the colonial era of Louisiana. I think you did a great job describing Cajun cooking and mentioning the Acadians though. Happy you enjoyed NOLA cuisine! ✨

I'm so glad you came to New Orleans and that you didn't just stay in the French Quarter. You were given excellent recommendations. When I’m playing tour guide, Liuzza’s bbq shrimp poboys are a must. For such a short visit, you did a great job selecting the food you ordered. I would've recommended a muffaletta for the road trip to Texas. Come back and stay longer! 👍

Spent all of my life here and it still resonates with life, food, happiness, and all the things worth celebrating, all the more apparent when I travel that we have something worth cherishing here. Good job on the vid. A date, some lines, and oodles more places on me when you are back :)

I have been a huge fan of hers. I was even watching some older videos of hers on this channel. She made a video and in that video was talking about if having money was worth it. People commented and informed her of the insensitivity and tone deafness of the comment - her very next video was an apology and a deeper explanation.
I do not see her here. If you look at the vid she posted a day ago - she is IN those comments. But if you look here - where here supporters like us are trying to let her know; she is NOWHERE to be found. And her most recent vid doesn’t have any commentary regarding the several comments here.
I want to make sure the cottage cheese community stands strong on the level of disrespect and absolutely bullying that went down in those few seconds of this video. It is absolutely unacceptable at this point and I’m extremely surprised at her. I was waiting to see what she would do before unsubbing because I genuinely have came to this channel in the last year several times and have watched her shorts and TikTok’s religiously. And I know I’m just one person - but I just cannot support this anymore and…..it’s just sad 💔✌🏻

1 friend of mine is coming back from la Nouvelle-Orléans and I am kinda jealous, even though I am barely able to eat spicy, I would love to talk to some French-speaking or even Ceole-speaking people there, since Creole is a mix of a lot of languages like Dutch and French.😊

Chicory coffee is pretty popular here in the south of India aka South Indian filter coffee. There are a lot of coffee plantations around here. They pride themselves in growing and making the best coffee (ground). They are usually sold in 80:20, 70:30, 75:25, and 60:40 (coffee:chicory). This coffee is brewed in a contraption called South Indian filter, basically like drip coffee, and is a milk based coffee. There are certain restaurants that get their customized mix from the roasters

Extremely disappointing on a sad level; you’ve been my safe space to watch but whoa.
“….know it’s a good biscuit when it looks like cottage cheese legs…” *inserts photo of plus size legs with cellulite* “…THE UGLIER THE BETTER…”. And that is a direct quote from this video.

Ok but you being upset doesn’t stop the statement of “a good biscuit looks like cottage cheese legs” any less honest.
And when she said, the uglier the better, she meant the biscuit clearly. Why would she be commenting on legs in a food video. Perhaps, you’re internalizing her statement and taking it personal because it’s a sensitive topic for you. She’s allowed to be honest and she wasn’t even rude. Coming from someone who even has cellulite. Cellulite looks like cottage cheese!! Find the humor in life and don’t take it too seriously love

New Orleans is tops on my bucket list. I’ve never really been to Vegas (other than the airport) and I don’t think I’m missing much. But N.O. seems to have everything I love; history, culture, food, etc.

    Hi Dooby,
Thank you for highlighting American cuisine. So many times, I hear the uneducated speak negatively about America food on social media…It’s not true! By the way, “Corn Hub” was too funny! 👍🏻

Dooby, so glad you had fun in my hometown! I was wondering in your Philly video, "how does the roast pork sandwich compare to a proper poboy?" Our food is rich and flavorful, and there's a lot of places like Liuzza's. A short drive out of the French Quarter would open up so many local spots, and that's the same for any tourist city. Eat with the locals and enjoy the hospitality.

I'm from Philly and have had the Dinic's roast pork sandwich. and I've been to NOLA 4 times now and have had many po'boys. I would compare the poboy more to a cheesesteak hoagie, which just has lettuce and tomatoes, maybe onions added. the roast pork with broccoli Rabe has stronger, more robust flavors vs. a cheesesteak hoagie or poboy, which is more milder. the bread, however, is the biggest difference. Poboys bread is dryer and more fragile and tends to fall apart. where the rolls used for the pork or cheesesteak sandwich have a chewier crust and can hold up better. hope this helps

For people wanting to try chicory: if you're allergic or are sensitive to ragweed, chicory will also have the same effect. They're in the same family, along with chamomile.

So, Liuzza’s bbq shrimp poboy is buttery because the “bbq” is mostly butter! 😆
I feel like the mention of black culture’s influence was seriously missing from this video. I would argue that most of the things people love about NO is because of black people. Sure, there’s definitely French influence, but…c’mon, girl.
